    The Big Finish Podcast

    Join the Big Finish team on their regular adventures through time, space, Victorian London, Mars, the 1960s and the Torchwood Hub in Cardiff for witty banter (ahem), free stories, news, interviews and exclusive trailers. We are best known for our Doctor Who ranges of audio plays starring Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, David Tennant, as well as a world of spin off adventures with Jago and Litefoot, UNIT, Captain Jack Harkness among others.     Toby Hadoke's Who's Round: 228: Christopher Neame Oct 05, 2017

    A special Who's Round which ties in with a current BBC release. This gentleman played a key role in a legendary Doctor Who story - without ever having his work broadcast. Thankfully, he's flown in from LA and managed to squeeze in time to talk about being animated, about some major BBC World War II dramas, and about the differences of being an actor in the USA and the UK. He's one of those rare beasts whose CV includes both Doctor Who and Star Trek, and he's managed to tussle with Hammer and have a scrap with Blake's 7 too. There's not a lot of Who talk in this Who's Round, because the rest of this conversation can be found on a BBC DVD being released this week. Thanks to Charles Norton for allowing this Who's Round to take place during the production of... well, you should have guessed by now!

    Well, who better for the anniversary Who's Round than a special guest - recognisable world wide - who appeared in a Doctor Who story set in November 1963. His brush with the show is brief but it's a cracking scene in a landmark adventure.

    He's also had an extraordinary career on the classical stage (leading roles at the Globe, the National and the RSC), on British television and... well, let's just say his work on a particular sitcom means that he his stopped on the street with huge regularity (it happened during the post podcast lunch and caused quite a stir and lots of photo ops - for him, not Toby!).

    He's also a charming and delightful conversationalist who is reduced to tears when remembering Nicol Wiliamson and very thoughtful and insightful on fame and the changing face of theatre. And you get to hear him do his Dalek impression - you won't get this stuff anywhere else guys!!!

Oft quoted, never bettered, he's one of the most fondly regarded experts in small screen villainy to have graced the series.
