Ep. 315: Are Women Waiting Too Long to Have Babies? Sep 14, 2022
    Show notes

We don’t often feel triggered by stuff, but we saw an interview clip recently of two men discussing how women are being “tricked” into thinking they can have their careers before their families, only to realize it’s too late to have a baby. Ummmm WTF. Maybe we’re the wrong ones, but from everything we’ve seen, that’s just not true. As women, we are acutely aware of our own biological clocks and when we don’t have kids, there’s usually a reason why. No one is being tricked. Some people don’t have kids and regret it, but some people DO have kids and regret it. Either way, it’s up to YOU to own whatever choice you make.

Are women being “tricked” into having babies too late? [1:24]

Mistakes vs. Choices vs. Life circumstances [3:31]

Women are aware of our body clocks [6:43]

    Regret is a choice [8:12]

People blame their kids for holding them back [13:28]

You can have whatever you want! [19:28]

Don’t have kids just in case you “might” regret it [20:28]

Don’t be afraid to ask yourself difficult questions [23:34]

Ep. 314: Feeling Jealous of Your Partner's Ex Sep 09, 2022
    Show notes

Comparison is the thief of joy, but that doesn’t make it any less likely for us to do it, especially in our romantic relationships. Dating is enough to make anyone insecure, and once you throw your partner’s exes into the mix, things get even stickier. There will always be something to feel insecure about, but don’t forget how amazing you are, too. Your partner is with you for a reason, and they split with their ex for a reason too! Insecurity happens, but don’t let it get in the way of your Best Life.

Understanding why your partner ended things with their ex [3:02]

Removing the “threat” by seeing the ex as a person [4:25]

Things end for a reason [7:14]

Flip the switch: do you still want to be with your exes? [8:36]

Jealousy of an ex’s current partner [9:09]

There’s always something you can feel insecure about [11:55]

Remind yourself why you’re amazing [13:20]

Someone out there is jealous of you [15:57]

You have to take your partner’s words at face value [17:00]

Don’t let comparison ruin the current relationship [19:04]

Ep. 313: Dealing with Adrenal Crash Sep 07, 2022
    Show notes

We’ve spent many years over-exercising and under-fueling our bodies, and our hormones paid the price. At our most-exercise obsessed, in our most-lean bodies, we felt our worst: tired, hungry, and irritable all the time. If you’re feeling that way too, chances are your adrenals are crashing and it’s time for a reset. It won’t be simple and it’s going to take way longer than you want, but if you want to get back to feeling your best, you have to start prioritizing more than just exercise.

It’s going to take longer than you think [5:34]

You have to change your mentality [7:35]

    Rest, rebuild, recondition [9:10]

You can’t just push through adrenal fatigue [9:57]

Make sleep your number 1 priority [12:45]

You can always go back to the old way (you won’t want to) [14:21]

Small additions make a huge difference [19:08]

Your stress might be causing more damage [21:06]

Are you really the best version of yourself? [25:35]

You won’t know until you know [29:14]

Gratitude and forgiveness for your body [32:25]

    Ep. 312: Ketamine (& Other Non-Traditional) Treatments for Depression Sep 02, 2022
    Show notes

If you’ve been a long-time listener to the podcast, you may recall that Danny has had life long struggles with her mental health. Out of a desire not to be taking medication forever (side note: there is nothing wrong with taking medicine for mental health!), Danny has tried a few non-traditional methods for treatment: ayahuasca, psilocybin, and most recently ketamine. We wanted to share & discuss these experiences with all of you, and share a part of life that isn’t frequently discussed, but deeply impactful and becoming for common in the treatment of mental health issues.

    Danny’s mental health history [1:09]

    Experimenting with non-traditional methods [5:54]

Ketamine treatments and assisted breath work [8:04]

    The treatment experience [10:27]

Breath work vs. IV Treatment [15:47]

Long term effects of alternative treatments [17:45]

Healing needs to be mainstream [21:07]

Could Big Pharma find a way to exploit these treatments? [23:49]

Different treatments have different results [26:07]

    Everyone needs something different [28:42]

Traditional meds are still great! [34:15]

Ep. 311: We Have Insecurities, Too Aug 31, 2022
    Show notes

We’ve done a lot of work to face our own insecurities, and for the most part, we’re very comfortable and confident with ourselves. Despite our best efforts, we still feel the sting of insecurity sometimes. Bodies, brains, businesses… it’s easy to compare. But insecurities aren’t objective truth, and when you own your own shit, there’s no space left to feel threatened. That’s the Best Life.

Even the most confident people have insecurities [2:33]

    Insecurities aren’t objective [6:51]

Looking for connection rather than competition [8:51]

Everyone has their own insecurities [12:18]

    Own who you are [13:15]

Why are we threatened rather than inspired? [13:47]

Your feelings of intimidation are on you [16:22]

Your projections can hurt people [17:58]

We compare up, rather than compare down [20:43]

Ep. 310: Feeling Abundance in a Recession Aug 26, 2022
    Show notes

We are officially in a recession. The idea of a recession alone can get people closing their wallets and preparing for the worst… but it doesn’t have to be that way. Abundance is possible no matter what the economy is looking like, and it all begins with our mindsets and choosing to invest in ourselves. There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world, but there’s one thing you can always rely on: yourself.

    Scarcity begets scarcity [1:34]

Knowing when it’s time to spend money [4:24]

Be more mindful of the small things [9:18]

Investing in yourself has infinite ROI [11:30]

What can you do to create abundance? [15:04]

We second guess ourselves more than our material goods [19:09]

Be the best at what you do [21:25]

Now is the best time to invest in yourself [24:14]

Ep. 309: When Marketing Becomes Manipulation Aug 24, 2022
    Show notes

We know the power of coaching when it comes to building an online business, both as coaches ourselves, and as people who invest in coaching. But there’s a new trend of coaches and marketers who are demanding high-level investment without much information before the purchase (and sometimes even after!). The idea is that a big investment alone will provide a big mental transformation. Yeah… we call bullshit on that. Maybe it works for someone, but we think a coach needs to earn your dollars, not just demand them.

Investment as an act of faith in yourself [6:13]

    Marketing as manipulation [9:51]

Does it work for some people? [12:07]

Your message will resonate with the right person [13:17]

    Coaching entrapment [17:08]

Business building isn’t that fragile [19:57]

    Money vs. impact [22:59]

You can ask for clarification and testimonials [27:32]

Your coach works for you [32:34]

Ep. 308: Why Turning Your Hobbies Into Businesses is A Bad Idea Aug 19, 2022
    Show notes

Everyone needs a hobby, but should every hobby be monetized? We’ve all heard the saying, “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” We call bullshit on that. Yes, we love what we do most of the time, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have moments where we hate it juuuust a little. That’s true of any hobby-turned-business; when you start to put pressure on something you love, you might feel a little less joy from it. So maybe you can make a little side income from your photography or knitting passion, but that doesn’t mean it has to be your full-time job.

The bell shaped curve of loving what you’re good at [3:10]

    Pressure changes the dynamic [6:59]

Should you turn your hobbies into a business? [9:26]

Your hobbies should re-energize you [11:13]

Giving up a little bit of joy for money [13:27]

You won’t just get to do your hobby all day [14:29]

Trying to monetize doesn’t mean someone will buy [17:45]

Do you need to love your work every second? [19:54]

    Everyone needs a hobby [24:12]

Ep. 307: To Rest or Not to Rest? Aug 17, 2022
    Show notes

Rest is super important, especially in a society that’s always pressuring us to do more… buuuuut sometimes you just don’t want (or need!) it. When is the right time to rest, how much should you take, and how do you even know if you need it in the first place? We hate to say it, but sometimes you kind of need to earn your rest. It’s all about knowing what season of life and business you’re in, and deciding from there. More isn’t necessarily better, and that goes for work AND rest.

An internal and societal pressure to do more [4:29]

When you want to keep working rather than rest [6:09]

How do you know when the right time to rest is? [7:46]

You don’t have to take the whole day off [10:22]

    Earning your rest [11:51]

Understand what season you’re in [16:34]

You can always rest, but you don’t always need to [20:41]

    Productivity vs. business [22:27]

    More isn’t better [24:39]

Ep. 306: The Pros & Cons of Rituals and Routines Aug 12, 2022
    Show notes

There are a lot of mentors and gurus out in the personal development space touting their specific routines and rituals as a pathway to success. Sure, a consistent routine might be beneficial for you, but no amount of cold showers on infrared light therapy at 4am is going to change your life. Sometimes too rigid of a routine can interfere with your Best Life along the way. Routines can be great, but there’s some benefit to going without, too. What are the things that truly push you forward? Focus on those.

Is your routine getting in the way of you doing shit? [2:10]

Routines can help you stay on track [4:37]

Is it just a control mechanism? [6:28]

Consistency, without rigidity by surfing the disappoinment [9:20]

    It’s okay to have some non-negotiables [12:54]

What things actually move the needle for you? [15:49]

Get discerning, get self aware [18:41]
