Death Star Diaries - Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope Nov 07, 2019

Show notes

We made it all the way to where it all began, A New Hope. This film changed everything back in 1977 and we were really stoked to talk about it.
Before we light sabered our way into that movie we discuss the most recent films we’ve watched, what we’ve been streaming on the media platforms and our most delicious meals recently.
On all of these episodes we’ve had the help from our good buddy and Star Wars expert @TheAdamChance, and he has agreed to stick with us until the end. He drops some knowledge on us in this one and we brought in one of our favorite humans of all time, @abe_sword! He has some serious connections to Star Wars as he explains in this episode.
We ended with a hilarious version of The Imitation Game, many laughs were had while playing it. Both of these fellas stuck around to draft our Top 5 Movie Orphans and it turned out great! If you want to hear how that draft turned out you must be a Patron of the pod, so go to www.patreon.com/theavidindoorsmen to sign up for all of the awesome perks we offer!

A.I. EP. 37: “Come Little Children” - Hocus Pocus Oct 31, 2019

Show notes

We asked the people what they wanted for a Halloween episode and Hocus Pocus won by a landslide! This cult classic is beloved by many and especially the Indoorsy community.
Before we open the book of spells we chat about the last movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming on the inter-webs and our tastiest recent snacks.
We are joined with a first time guest who actually had listened to quite a few episodes, Rob’s much better half, Kelsey Lundquist! She is a lover of all things Fall-related and Halloween definitely fits in that category. Her takes on this cult classic are especially spooooooky!
We end with a brand new movie game we’re calling the Blockbuster Movie Game. You’re going to want to hear how this went down! Our Patrons get to hear the extended cut where we draft our Top 5 Favorite Movies With Witches! If you want to be a part of the fun, join our Patreon account today!

Show notes

We’re traveling at hyperspace through these Death Star Diaries and have already made it to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!

Adam Chance has been rocking out the Star Wars from the very beginning and we thought it would be fun to bring another Star Wars fanatic into the DSD, fellow Home Free member/co-founder, Adam Rupp! The nerd is strong with these two and it’s fun to hear their love for this subject.
We end this episode with a super fun version of The Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us duke it out during our Best Space Films Draft!

The Death Star Diaries - Episode 1: The Phantom Menace Sep 26, 2019

Show notes

We are embarking on a new journey in a galaxy far far away, we’re going to cover all of the Star Wars films in a new series we’re calling: Death Star Diaries! We will be going in episodic order, not theatrical release order, so of course we will be starting with Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.
Before we start chatting about this film we dive into the latest movies we’ve seen, what we’ve been consuming on the streaming platforms and our favorite recent films.
We begged the biggest Star Wars fan we know to join us for this new series and @TheAdamChance has agreed to do ALL of these films! This first one also features Reilly Zamber from @TheHoundTheFox who toughed it out even though was feeling under the weather. He may have sounded sick, but his takes as well as Chance’s are definitely worth hearing!
After our deep dive into Phantom Menace we ended this episode like all of our episodes with a Movie Game, specifically our Imitation Game. These guys were willing to stick around for a Top 5 Liam Neeson Films Draft which ended up being a lot of fun.
Hope you guys are ready to get your nerd on and rock out some Star Wars with us on these Death Star Diaries!
