A.I. EP. 44: “ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!” - Gladiator Jan 30, 2020

Show notes

We found ourselves to be thoroughly entertained while recording this episode of GLADIATOR!
We start off chatting about the last movies we’ve seen, what we’ve been streaming and our most delicious meals we’ve consumed most recently.
There was a big snowstorm in the Twin Cities and Rob’s family was dealing with the flu, so we recorded this from the comfort of our own homes separately. This was a first for us, but we still had such a good time breaking down this Best Picture winner from 2000. We both were shocked this film is celebrating it’s 20th anniversary and felt like it deserved to have its very own episode.
We end this episode with a fun game we’ve never played before called Build-A-Title. This was taken from the Doug Loves Movies podcast, like so many of of our favorite games we play. Our Patrons get to listen to us duke it out while we draft our Top 5 Russell Crowe Films!
We hope you are entertained! Enjoy!

A.I. EP. 43 “I’m A Golden Starfish” - Booksmart Jan 23, 2020

Show notes

Booksmart was one of the best films of 2019 and Rotten Tomatoes even gave it one of their Golden Tomatoes for Best Comedy. That seemed more than reason enough to do an episode on it and we thought it would be fun to bring back our good friend, Beth Swartz!
Before we got chatting with Beth about this hilarious film, we discussed the last movies we’ve seen, what we’ve been streaming and the favorite things we’ve been eating.
We had a blast breaking down this fun, coming of age comedy and spent a lot of time discussing our favorite scenes and ended up quoting most of the movie.
We ended the episode with a super entertaining Imitation Game and our Patrons get to hear us pick our Top 10 Favorite Directorial Debuts, which ended up being really hard because there were so many to choose from!
If you haven’t seen Booksmart yet we highly recommend you check it out and then listen to our AMAZING takes!

A.I. EP. 40: Top 10 Movies of the 2010s Jan 02, 2020

Show notes

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! We are now in a new decade, the 2020s!!! But let us not forget the amazingness that was the 2010s. There were some INCREDIBLE films made during that 10 year span and we decided to narrow down the best 10 films of that decade. This was no easy task and we both felt a little insecure about our lists, but between both of our selections we feel that we represented the best films of the 2010s.
You’ll have to excuse our saltiness in the very beginning, we had something happen that had never happened to us in a year of recording these podcasts! Stick with it though because it gets much better as the episode goes on.
Our Patrons get to hear who we think won the 2010s in 5 different categories:
Best Actress
Best Actor
Best Supporting Actor
Best Supporting Actress
Best Director
We hope you all had a wonderful time ending 2019. We wish you an even more wonderful 2020!!!

A.I. EP. 38: “Gobble Gobble” - Planes, Trains & Automobiles Nov 28, 2019

Show notes

It’s that wonderful holiday where we eat too much and say what we’re thankful for, Thanksgiving! We decided to take a break from our Death Star Diaries so we could talk about our favorite Thanksgiving film, the John Hughes classic, Planes, Trains & Automobiles!
Rob grew up loving this film and has been quoting it with his Dad for the last 30 years, so we thought it only made sense to bring Fred Lundquist back on the pod to talk about it.
We start off this episode by talking about the last movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and the tastiest meals we’ve had lately.
So many laughs were had while breaking down this film. We could have spent another hour quoting every line, it’s such a quotable movie! We think you’re going to enjoy us giggling our way through our takes.
This episode concludes with us playing the Blast From The Past Movie Game and our Patrons will hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite John Hughes Films.
We hope you’re all able to spend this holiday with your loved ones and have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We’re so thankful for your support and hope you’re enjoying our podcast.
Happy Thanksgiving!
