A.I. EP. 59: Social Distancing Sessions - The Matrix May 14, 2020

Show notes

Another amazing movie that is available to watch on Netflix while you’re stuck at home is the mind-blowing 1999 film, The Matrix. We found a couple of buddies who love this movie even more than we do, @Heatboxllc and @Patrickmpls.
Before we chat with Box and Pat, we discuss the last movie we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and our favorite quarantine meals.
Heatbox has been on our show a few times now and making his AI debut is Minneapolis-based musician/old college buddy/old roommate Pat Nelson. We love these fellas and so glad we got to chat with them and break down The Matrix.
We end the show with a game of Last Man Stanton and our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Films That Blew Our Minds.
We hope you’re all enjoying these Social Distancing Sessions and staying healthy and safe at home!

A.I. EP. 58: Social Distancing Sessions - Knives Out May 07, 2020

Show notes

Another Social Distancing Session is upon us and we put a twist on it, which is very appropriate considering the film we discussed, Knives Out is the first film we’ve done an SDS episode on that is not on Netflix. We felt this film was worth spending the extra money to rent because of how great it is.
Knives Out gives a modern take on the classic Whodunit genre and it’s the first of these films we’ve ever done. Since we are debuting a new genre, we thought we should bring in a couple new guests, so making their Avid Indoorsmen debut are Austin Brown and Cash Campbell!
Before we talk to those guys we discuss the last movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and what we’ve been eating.
We got pretty chatty in this one and told a lot of stories while breaking down Knives Out. It was a really fun time talking to these guys and hope you found it as entertaining as we did!
This episode ends with an interesting Imitation Game and a really fun Top 5 Worst Movie Family Draft.
We hope you’re all staying safe and healthy during this crazy time and enjoying these Social Distancing Sessions!

Movie Game Night #4 May 04, 2020

Show notes

This is our 4th movie game night and we brought back Tim Foust who’s been on several of these and even made up a new game for us to play! His much better half Jenika Marion made her movie game night debut but has been on the pod several times and she is a DELIGHT! Jeffrey East made his Avid Indoorsmen debut and was too much fun. We briefly got to hang with Abe Sword who has been on the pod before but due to technical difficulties we lost him before the games started.
We played 3 different movie games, two of which we’ve played before and Tim gave us a super fun new one that we will definitely be stealing from him!
Hope you guys enjoy this extra content and are staying healthy and safe during this craziness!

A.I. EP. 57: Social Distancing Sessions - Hell or High Water Apr 30, 2020

Show notes

Howdy Avid Indoorspeople! We’re back with another Social Distancing Session and we were so excited to talk about the Modern Western from 2016, Hell or High Water. To really dive into this film we decided to bring back one of our favorite buckaroos, Straight No Chaser’s Seggie Isho!
Before we chat with Seggie we discuss what movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and the fun things we’ve been eating.
Seggie always brings the hottest of takes that are so hot you’ll need a High Water to cool down. Not our best work there...but that is no reflection on Seggie’s awesome insight on this film.
We end with a fun game of Doug Benson’s game Last Man Stanton and then our Patrons get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Modern Westerns.
This was too much fun and like all of our Social Distancing Sessions you can find this film on Netflix if you haven’t seen it yet or want a refresher before listening to this episode.
We hope you’re all doing well and staying safe and healthy at home!

A.I. EP. 56: Social Distancing Sessions - Rounders Apr 23, 2020

Show notes

We’re back with some more Social Distancing Sessions and this time we brought a couple of our favorite college buddies onto the pod! One of these guys you’ve heard during our Marvel Mania episodes and our Inglorious Podcasts, NYC actor, Benny Elledge. The other is Taylor Hayes, who’s also an NYC actor and is making his Avid Indoorsmen debut!
Before we break down the film with Benny and Taylor we discuss the last movies we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and what we’ve been eating.
We had too much fun discussing Rounders with these two. It’s one of those movies we’ve all quoted forever and it was great to chat with two actors about the performances in this film.
This episode ends with a fun version of The Imitation Game and then our patrons over at Patreon get to hear us draft our Top 5 Favorite Matt Damon Films.
We hope you’re all staying safe and sane during these tough times. Go watch Rounders, listen to this episode and have fun being distracted from the world for a little while.
Enjoy!

Movie Game Night #2 Apr 20, 2020

Show notes

It’s time for another Movie Game Night! We had such a good time with @TimFoustMusic and @SNCSeggie that we had to bring them back for some more movie game action! We also brought back a guest we haven’t heard from in a while, ex-MLB pitcher/Current Fantasy Football podcaster @BradZiegler!
We changed the format up and did 3 separate games instead of one long marathon movie game. This worked out really well and we had a bunch of fun!
We hope you’re enjoying the extra content we’re putting out for you and hope you’re all staying healthy and safe at home!

A.I. EP. 55: Social Distancing Sessions - Hook Apr 16, 2020

Show notes

BANGARANG! We were so excited that Hook was on Netflix so we could add this to our Social Distancing Sessions! Hook was a special movie for both of us, but Rob has been quoting this movie with his sister since it came out, so we had to have her on to talk about it. We’re excited to have Jen Lundquist make her AI debut!
Before we chat with Jen we talk about the latest films we’ve seen, what we’re streaming and what we’ve been eating.
Jen had some really fun takes and some uncanny Lost Boys impressions and we just had a great time breaking down this film.
We end with a fun game of Last Man Stanton and then our Patrons get to hear us battle out our Top 10 Favorite Movie Food Scenes Draft.
We hope you’re all doing well and staying safe during these crazy times.

Movie Game Night #1 Apr 14, 2020

Show notes

Since we’ve had some extra time we thought it would be fun to do some movie games with different guests!
Our first Movie Game Night features Home Free’s own Tim Foust, The Criterion Man himself Darrell Marrier, and Straight No Chaser’s Seggie Isho.
Rob has played a particular movie game with the other Home Free guys while driving all over the country and has played this game, naming off actors and movies, for hundreds of hours at this point. He thought it would be fun to try it out with these fellas and they did not disappoint.
We want to thank Tim, Darrell and Seggie for being our guinea pigs. This was a lot of fun and kinda stressful at times!
We hope you enjoy our first Movie Game Night!
