It's hard to pinpoint when our guy Nando began his infatuation with backup players, but we know that D'Ernest Johnson was an important part of it in 2020. Well, Johnson is back in a starting role in what happens to be one of the worst bye weeks in recent fantasy memory. So did Nando get the last laugh? Definitely maybe, if you're into being generous.
Nando, Chris and Brandon get into a whole lot beyond the depleted Browns on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast. They discuss the Eagles woes, the problem with Seattle's offense, next-man-up RBs to chase now, Derrick Henry's greatness, and more.

It's Beat Writer Tuesday on The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast, with Nate Taylor (Chiefs), Jeff Zrebiec (Ravens) and Josh Kendall (Falcons) joining Beller to give us an update on their teams.
Can Darrel Williams carve out a role for himself that remains when Clyde Edwards-Helaire returns from IR? Is the Ravens backfield worth trying to figure out? Is there any explanation for Calvin Ridley's slow start beyond general unpredictability? Our beat writers answer those questions, and a whole lot more.
After that, Brandon Funston joins the show to break down the Week 7 waiver wire. The guys discuss D'Ernest Johnson, T.Y. Hilton and the rest of the players fantasy managers should be targeting on waivers.

Week 6 was the week of the next-man-up back, with Chuba Hubbard, Khalil Herbert, Alex Collins, Darrel Williams and Latavius Murray all finding the end zone. Zero-RBers, rejoice! Can these guys keep it going? That's just one topic Beller, Funston and Jake get into on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast.
The guys dive into all the big takeaways from Week 6, with looks at the Chargers offense, Ravens backfield, Bears defense and Jaylen Waddle. They take a look at a handful of players who could reasonably fall on either side of the buy/sell divide, fill in the blank on some confounding players, and break down the waiver wire in advance of Week 7.

The Week 7 waiver wire is shaping up to be the thinnest of the 2021 season. Still, there are a handful of players worthy of the fantasy community's attention. Beller and Funston discuss those players, led by Ravens receiver Rashod Bateman.

Beller and DVR discuss the Week 6 Main Slate from a DFS perspective. With injuries piling up, how much value can you pile up at the running back position? With the extra savings at that position, where should you spend up this week? Is it time to pay the premium for Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, should you pivot Packers builds from Davante Adams to Aaron Jones? Are there any large underdogs primed to come through from a fantasy perspective?

Beller, Zac and Vic are back to tackle the remainder of the Week 6 slate, with one pick apiece for each of the 13 games. The guys are loving Chargers-Ravens and Cardinals-Browns, with all three of them finding one of their five favorite plays in those two games. They also have strong takes among them on Dolphins (-3) vs. Jaguars, Bills (-5.5) at Titans, the Vikings/Panthers total (45) and more.

Week 6 is here, and so is another round of putting the pieces together to build the best possible fantasy football lineup. Beller, Jake and Funston are here to help you do that on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast.
Week 6 forces fantasy managers to deal with bye weeks for the first time all season, with the Jets, Falcons, Saints and 49ers taking a seat this week. Is Taylor Heinicke a start against the Chiefs? Could you squeeze in a trade before Sunday? Should Darrel Williams go right into fantasy starting lineups? Does Russell Wilson's injury make Tyler Lockett benchable? The guys answer all those questions, and a whole lot more.

Beller and DVR get together to discuss their favorite Survivor plays for Week 6. The Rams and Colts are the two most popular selections on the board. Will the guys go with either of those, or do they see an argument for going off-script?
They also discuss secondary picks, teams to avoid, and selections if you want to get a little weird this week.

Nando, Chris and Brandon get together for another round of fantasy talk on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast. The trio discusses the issues with Pittsburgh's offense, the affect of Geno Time in Seattle, and Kadarius Toney's rest-of-season value. Chris makes a compelling argument for Diontae Johnson as a borderline WR1, despite the struggles of the offense as a whole, while Brandon says now is the time to see if you can still get dollar-for-dollar value on D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
Plus, Nando forces another round of Would You Trade This Guy for This Guy talk.
