It's Beat Writer Tuesday on The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast, with Matthew Fairburn (Patriots), Jon Machota (Cowboys) and Arif Hasan (Vikings) joining Beller to give us an update on their teams.
What's the driving force behind Mac Jones' performance the last two weeks? How will Michael Gallup's impending return affect the Cowboys' passing game? Is there any chance that the Vikings might lessen Dalvin Cook's load? Our beats answer all those questions, and a whole lot more.
After that, Brandon Funston joins the show to open up the TA Fantasy mailbag with Beller. The guys discuss Allen Robinson's trade value, quarterbacks to stream in Week 8, Kenneth Gainwell vs. Boston Scott, and more.

Week 7 was filled with blowouts, with just two games decided by one possession, and an average margin of victory that nearly reached three touchdowns. Despite the lack of real-life drama, the slate still produced plenty of fantasy football intrigue. Beller, Jake and Funston are here to break it all down on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast.
Who won Week 7? Who lost it? Who are the best waiver targets going into Week 8? Where is the buy/sell divide on receivers like Marquise Brown, Julio Jones and D.J. Moore? How concerned should we be about Antonio Gibson? The guys answer all those questions, and a whole lot more.

Michael Beller joins Derek VanRiper to take the first look at the Week 8 waiver wire. With the Ravens on bye, is it worth adding and stashing Rashod Bateman? Which running back are you targeting in leagues where Rashaad Penny and Kenneth Gainwell are available? Is there reason to chase another running back in Vegas with Josh Jacobs' Week 7 injury? And how much should you trust Darius Slayton's performance against Carolina?

Beller and DVR discuss the Week 7 Main Slate from a DFS perspective. With plenty of value at running back and wide receiver, how should you spend up on this slate? Which mid-range running backs are most appealing this week, and how much are you willing to trust Jalen Hurts on the heels of consecutive games with a pair of rushing TDs?

By now, you know just how brutal Week 7 is for byes. It's not just that there are six teams on bye. It's the quality of the offenses, and the depth of their fantasy options, that are taking a seat. The Cowboys, Chargers, Bills, Vikings, Jaguars and Steelers are on bye this week. Those teams contribute three no-doubt starters at quarterback (to say nothing of Trevor Lawrence and Kirk Cousins), five at running back, all of whom regularly sit in the top 10, and 11 at receiver, at least eight of whom are easily top 20 at their position.
In other words, starting lineups across the fantasy football universe are going to look a bit wonky this week. Beller, Jake and Funston are here to help you sort it all out on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast.

Beller and DVR get together to discuss their favorite Survivor plays for Week 7. If you've used the heavily-favored teams on this slate, which team(s) should you turn to? Is this a good time to use the Packers with a home matchup against WFT? Can you get away with rolling out the Patriots against the Jets?
