Chargers 47, Browns 42. Bills 38, Chiefs 20. Five straight missed field goals in Packers-Bengals. Two more teams putting up 40+ points. And there's still one game left on the slate! Week 5 was, by far, the craziest week of the 2021 NFL season to date.
Beller, Jake and Funston are here to break down all that craziness on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast. The guys discuss the Seahawks offense without Russell Wilson, Adam Thielen's touchdown dependence, trustworthiness for Leonard Fournette and Damien Harris, and the continued headache that is the 49ers backfield.
They also dig into the Week 6 waiver wire, and consider the trade prospects for a handful of intriguing players, all of whom could reasonably be on either side of the buy/sell divide.

Michael Beller joins Derek VanRiper to take the first look at the Week 6 waiver wire. Will the injury to Saquon Barkley open up big bids for DeVontae Booker? Are the Giants going to prioritize Kadarius Toney in their offense even as their other receivers get healthy? Will Marquez Callaway build off of a season-high eight targets in Week 5 after the Saints' Week 6 bye? Can Alex Collins take control of the Seattle backfield?

Beller and DVR discuss the Week 5 Main Slate from a DFS perspective. Is it worth paying top dollar to build around Derrick Henry against the Jags? How should you approach the chalky plays in the Cowboys-Giants matchup. Will Packers-Bengals go well above the elevated over/under total and provide plenty of fantasy goodness? Should you lean into the underpriced tight ends available on the board this week?

Is Sam Darnold a QB1 this week? Wait, better question: Is Sam Darnold a QB1 for the rest of the season? Is Daniel Jones? How good do we feel about Damien Williams, starting RB? Is this finally the week Robert Woods gets going? Beller, Jake and Funston dig into all that on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast.
That's right, we've reached the rankings portion of the week once again. In addition to the players above, the guys discuss Justin Fields, Trey Lance, Miles Sanders, Kareem Hunt, Alex Collins, Michael Carter, Odell Beckham, DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green and Corey Davis. Plus, a trio of tight ends who might actually matter!

Beller and DVR have both made it to Week 5 of Survivor with relative ease, and now this sentence feels like a jinx for at least one of them this week. The Cowboys and Buccaneers look like the two most popular picks this week, with home games against the Giants and Dolphins, respectively. Will the guys lean on those heavy favorites? Will they go in another direction? And who are they absolutely avoiding this week?
Get the answers to those questions on this episode of The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast.

Nando and Vaccaro dig into the standouts and trends from Week 4, applying them to moves we can make for Week 5 and beyond. The guys get into the Jaguars' offense, Cordarrelle Patterson's staying power, and Sam Darnold as a QB1. They discuss the Baltimore backfield, Jamison Crowder's return, and reasons for patience with Kyle Pitts.
Plus, Nando asks a billion questions about Mike Davis, and Vaccaro highlights some under-the-radar players he likes a lot for the rest of the season.

It's beat writer Tuesday here on The Athletic Fantasy Football Podcast. Beller is joined by Kevin Fishbain (Bears), Dan Duggan (Giants) and Joe Person (Panthers) to dive into three teams that have all made fantasy headlines over the last 48 hours.
Can Justin Fields finally put to bed the "Andy Dalton's our starter when he's healthy" nonsense this week? Is Saquon Barkley all the way back? Can Sam Darnold and D.J. Moore keep this rolling. Our beat writers answer all those questions, and more.
Then, Beller and Brandon Funston take one last look at the Week 5 waiver wire, highlighted by Damien Williams.

Brandon Funston joins Derek VanRiper to take the first look at the Week 5 waiver wire. Is Damien Williams a priority add in the wake of David Montgomery's injury? Who should you choose if Darnell Mooney and Jamison Crowder are both available in your league? Will any of the Week 4 surprises at tight end emerge to be steady weekly contributors? And, in what types of leagues should you be interested in Trey Lance?
