    The Office -- Episode # 3.18 "Cocktails" Feb 22, 2007
    Show notes

Will "Cocktails" be everything we're looking for and more, or will it fail to get us "buzzed"? NBC describes the episode like this:COCKTAILS 8:30/7:30c TV14 02.22.2007 MAKING IT OFFICIAL - Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) and Jan (Melora Hardin) go public with their relationship during a party at their CFO's home. At the party, Jim (John Krasinski) meets Karen's (Rashida Jones) ex. Meanwhile, the rest of the office decides to go to happy hour for drinks. Rainn Wilson, Jenna Fischer, B.J. Novak, David Denman, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Paul Lieberstein and Mindy Kaling also star. There's obviously loads of potential for "awk" when alcohol is involved, so I'm expecting a good dose of somewhat cringy scenes. Will some truth come out, once the defenses are down? Can "JaMichael" last, once properly registered with Human Resources? Only time will tell.

    The Office -- Episode # 3.17 "Business School" Feb 15, 2007
    Show notes

So... This is the big Joss Whedon directed episode tonight, and it looks to have at least three different plot threads running through it. I can only imagine Ryan invited Michael to his class in order to mock him (or let Michael mock himself), and the Dwight Vs. The Bat thing... well, I hope it's funnier than it sounds. I am most interested in the Pam has an art show story-- I wanna know just how sexy that art is!NBC describes it thusly:BUSINESS SCHOOL 8:30/7:30c TV14 02.15.2007 MICHAEL GOES TO BUSINESS SCHOOL WITH RYAN - Ryan (B.J. Novak) invites Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) to be a guest speaker at his business school. Meanwhile, Dwight battles a bat that gets loose in the office while Pam (Jenna Fischer) invites co-workers to her first art show. Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Melora Hardin, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, Paul Lieberstein, and Mindy Kaling also star.Let the commenting begin!Oh, BTW-- JOIN IAN AND I IN THE TWSS CHATROOM AFTER THE SHOW (9:00e/8:00c). Not sure how many people can fit in the room, but we're willing to find out!

    Episode # 16 -- "Phyllis' Wedding" (02/08/07) Feb 12, 2007
    Show notes

Episode # 16 of THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID finds both Matt and Ian exhausted after trying to sneak through Dwight's security cordon... man, the things we do for free booze! It's wedding season, you sand-bagging SOBs, but Phyllis forgot rule #98-- hell hath no fury like a Michael scorned! She got her 6 weeks, but will she live to regret asking Michael to be in the wedding party? Will Dwight catch any of those nasty wedding crashers? Will Toby finally get lucky? Will Ryan survive the bouquet toss? will Jim, for the love of god and all things holy on this great green earth find the cojones to tell Pam how he feels? Or not? And who says it's bad to backslide? See what twenty bucks can do? Incidental music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network. The Office -- Episode # 3.16 "Phyllis' Wedding" Feb 08, 2007
    Show notes

"T" minus 12 hours and counting until the big event tonight. Post your comments, predictions and criticisms here.NBC describes it like this:PHYLLIS' WEDDING 8:30/7:30c TV14 02.08.2007 HERE COMES THE BRIDE - Phyllis (Phyllis Smith) regrets giving Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) an important job at her wedding after several embarrassing moments. Pam (Jenna Fischer) has flashbacks of her own wedding planning when she sees Phyllis's decorations. Meanwhile, Dwight (Rainn Wilson) is determined to catch wedding crashers. John Krasinski, B.J. Novak, Melora Hardin, David Denman, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Angela Kinsey, Phyllis Smith, Paul Lieberstein, and Mindy Kaling also star.Man, ANOTHER party? Hope this one blows us away.edit:the more I think about this episode, the more IDENTICAL it feels in structure to "Booze Cruise." A big party outside of the office, Michael acts like he's in charge, and gets punished for it... Dwight is given a "fake" job to keep him occupied, Jim is there with someone he doesn't really want to be with, Jim and Pam seem like they might do something, but then Roy makes a big move which pushes J&P farther apart. At least in "Booze Cruise" Jim had the cojones to give Katie the boot.

I Was A Teenaged Heart-Throb (re: Girl Talk Date Line) Feb 06, 2007
    Show notes

Racine, WI-- the place I grew up and where I am currently living-- used to be a pretty amazing center of industry. CASE tractors, In-Sink-Erator, Johnson's Wax, Horlick's Malted Milk, and Western Publishing (to name a few) all made their start here. During my senior year in High School, a representative from Western contacted our theater teacher and said they were looking for a group of kids to try out and be voices for a new board game they were putting together. Being a drama dork (among other things), I tried out and got accepted as part of the crew.We had to drive up to Milwaukee to a professional recording studio, and spent the afternoon reading goofy situations from a script-- situations dealing with a guy calling a girl on the phone, and either getting lucky or striking out. The game? A little thing called GIRL TALK DATE LINE. In the game, you had to move around the board and take two character tiles (a guy and a girl), match them together and jam them into a tiny portable speaker box thingy you'd have hooked up to your cassette deck. The tape would then play one of the conversations mentioned above. If you got a "good" one, you were successful. If you got shot down... well, better luck next time. I got paid a few hundred dollars for my efforts, I remember... all of which went towards paying my bills for the senior prom. I never really knew what kind of impact this game had, or whether it was popular or whatever, but apparently it won 6th place in the 1991 Deutscher Spiele Preis. After doing the game, I briefly considered trying to work in the voice acting arena, but like a lot of things when you're 18, it got swept under the rug.Ah... what MIGHT have been.EDIT:You can download an MP3 of the "loser" calls here. That's me, on the first call... And also on the "call me when you decide to go Italian!" one.

    Episode # 15 -- "Ben Franklin" (02/01/07) Feb 06, 2007
    Show notes

Episode # 15 of THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID finds both Matt and Ian dealing with the disappointment their impersonator fathers are feeling with their chosen career paths... seriously, dad-- we're allergic to powdered wigs! Hear ye, hear ye! 'Tis time for Dame Phyllis' wedding shower, and gentle goodman Benjamin Franklin's in the hiz-ouse! Every man should know how to throw a bachelor party, and Michael's on the case, armed with some horrible advice from Todd Packer. Separate but Equal? So THAT's what that means! Will Michael be able to survive his lap dance? Will Jim and Pam finally have more than an awkwardly phrased conversation? And what, exactly, have Jim and Karen been doing instead of sleeping? Talking? Yeah right! Incidental music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network. A Sneak Peak At The Wedding Of The Year! Feb 04, 2007
Show notes NBC.com has posted a new series of "e-cards," all featuring shots from this week's PHYLLIS' WEDDING episode.Check out the sweet "refridgerator cake," all the wonderful bridesmaids (Phyllis' sisters, perhaps?), and a shot of Bob pulling off the old garter. My prediction? No one's going to be fighting over THAT bad-boy.

Damn that flux capacitor! The only thing I can't figure out is how we got Dwight AND Robo-Dwight together in the same room (especially since he only has a 6 foot cord). (mathercize, you so CRAYzee...)
