SFP Interview: Jaclyn Schultz from Survivor San Juan Del Sur Dec 23, 2014

Show notes

Today we interviewed Jaclyn Schultz. She finished Survivor San Juan Del Sur in second place. Jaclyn was mostly invisible for the first part of the game. She came to life when she reunited with her boyfriend Jon at the tribal shuffle and then helped plan their ascent into the controlling alliance. She often demonstrated good instincts for potential threats but seemed to lack the confidence to act on them. She will be most remembered for her surprising performance at the final challenge. Listen to this interview to hear why at one point she had considered dropping out at final five, an update on the injury from that final challenge, why she took Natalie over Keith and more!

SFP Interview: Natalie Anderson from Survivor San Juan Del Sur Dec 20, 2014

Show notes

Today we interviewed Natalie Anderson, winner of Survivor San Juan Del Sur. Watching her execute the plan to take revenge on Jon was a thing of beauty. She made smart strategic moves, was a beast in challenges, and had a great social game to boot. Listen to this interview to hear about the injury that threatened to take her out of the game, how she felt about Baylor's blindside, details on the final tribal council we didn't get to see and more!

SFP Interview: Missy Payne from Survivor San Juan Del Sur Dec 19, 2014

Show notes

Today we interviewed Missy Payne. She finished Survivor San Juan Del Sur in third place. Missy kept her tribe well fed, extremely well fed. She will also be remembered for her intense defense of any perceived slight to her daughter as well as helping run the controlling alliance after the merge. She was perceptive, pragmatic, physically tough, and ran her alliance with an iron fist. Listen to this interview to hear the diagnosis on her injured foot, the most difficult question she faced, how she felt after Reed said he was referring only to her game persona and more!

SFP Interview: Keith Nale from Survivor San Juan Del Sur Dec 19, 2014

Show notes

Today we interviewed Keith Nale. He finished Survivor San Juan Del Sur in fourth place. Keith provided much of this season's comic relief. He tried hard but most of his attempts at strategy ended with disastrous results. He'll be remembered for his multiple, impressive immunity wins and for getting his son voted out of the game by blurting out "stick to the plan" at a pivotal tribal council. Listen to this interview to hear what he wishes they had not shown, what the guys at the firehouse had to say about his spa adventure, why he voted for Natalie and more!

SFP Interview: Baylor Wilson from Survivor San Juan Del Sur Dec 19, 2014

Show notes

Today we interviewed Baylor Wilson. She finished Survivor San Juan Del Sur in fifth place. Baylor was a candidate to be voted out of the game from the very beginning. There were more votes cast against her during the season than any other castaway. She managed to hang on until she could reunite with her mom who promptly tucked her under her wing and carried her all the way to day 37 where Natalie snatched the dream of final three out from under her with the season's final blindside. Listen to this interview to hear how she was chosen for the show, what she wishes we had seen, her thoughts on Reed's speech and more!

San Juan Del Sur Finale Dec 18, 2014

Show notes

This season started off slow and it was hard for many of us to find someone to cheer for, but that all changed after the merge. We saw some great battles between actual strategists and one person in particular emerged as a real superstar in the game. We experienced some great blindsides, witnessed the return of the water challenges in Nicaragua, and were pleased with the finale and the felt like the most deserving person was crowned the sole survivor. What did you think about the final challenges? Were you happy with the result? How did you think the opening statements went versus the answers the final three provided to the jury? What did you think of Reed's wicked stepmother speech? How would you score the jury? Where does this season rank for you against the other 28? Any thoughts or predictions on season 30, Worlds Apart?

Rashmi not only dodged a bullet, she managed to dominate the JSFL side challenge this season! She will be deciding what Nina's punishment will be for coming in dead last. We'll have the update on the overall JSFL winner for the Listener Feedback show on Saturday.

San Juan Del Sur Episode 13 LF Dec 14, 2014

Show notes

Natalie's revenge was certainly the hit of the LF show this week, but that doesn't mean she's a sure thing to win it all. We heard many plausible end game scenarios. The jury is not privy to everything we see just as we only get to see a sample of what they experienced. The unconventional nature of this season suggests there is a good chance for a surprise ending. We are all glad that this season recovered and eventually delivered some classic Survivor moments and hope it will provide a fitting ending.

For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Fifteen fans shared their thoughts on episode 13 as well as their predictions for the finale. We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. This week we heard from: Jill, Nicola, Jody, Dexter Mike, Andy, Kenny, Josh, Emily, Drew, Becca, MichaelS, Rashmi, Sandi, Carolyn, and Jeremiah.

SFP Interview: Castoff from Episode 13 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur Dec 12, 2014

Show notes

This week we interviewed Jon Misch. He left the game in episode 13 of Survivor San Juan Del Sur. Jon bumbled his way through the beginning of the game, losing his tribe's flint, "bro-ing out" with his new buddy Drew, and howling at monkeys. Reuniting with Jaclyn after the shuffle, brought calm and focus to his game. After the merge, he was a solid contender with a chance to win it all. Then he committed a classic Survivor newb mistake. He became overconfident and dropped his guard. Natalie seized the moment to wrest control from him and crushed his hopes for winning the million. Listen to this interview to find out what happened to his idol, who he felt most betrayed by, his thoughts on the remaining castaways and more!
