Trish Guise, High Conflict Divorce Strategist and New Ways for Families Coach, is back on Slam the Gavel now with her daughter, Keelee. We talked about how Keelee finds her counselor very helpful and that in the future, Keelee would like to be Therapist and help people dealing with trauma and Neuro-Psychology.
Keelee talks about getting her Master's Degree as well as her Ph.D, but wants to study in Norway.
Talking about Depression and self-harming behaviors, cutting herself off from her friends, Keelee has struggled with these emotions for a number of years and is concerned about how all this will carry over to her adult life.
Keelee is an inspiration to us all and is determined to make a change in not only her life, but in the lives of others and encourages everyone to focus on communication.

Carnell Smith, Author of, "TRAPPED BY LAW," won his own paternity fraud case after appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court by changing the law in his state Apr 29, 2021

Carnell Smith is a husband, father, grandfather, Ordained Minister and Engineer with a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology with studies in Information Technology and Product Management.
Mr. Smith won his own paternity fraud case using the legislation that he co-wrote with Georgia Legislators, after the Supreme Court of the United States denied his constitutional arguments.
Carnell Smith also has written model law, consulted on legislation in more than 10 states and has gotten legislation passed in several states.
Author of the book, "TRAPPED BY LAW," spokesman and speaker, workshop leader, is a frequent contributor to TV, radio, books, newspapers, magazines and film projects in the United States and abroad. He has marketed and sold Legal DNA Testing for Maternity, Paternity and Immigration identifications for a decade and currently serves on the Advisory board for the Women Against Paternity Fraud, a 501 (c) tax exempt non-profit organization.
"Everyone deserves to know the truth." We discussed how 30,000 men and boys are not to be the fathers and sit in prison. They will travel in and out of the court system and prison system paying child support on children that aren't even theirs. Cases of mistaken identity, soldiers deployed in the military and some trying to fight back publicly just to name a few. It's a nightmare that can happen to any teen or young man.

Wonderful conversation with Danica Joan, M.Ed who is a Certified Family Mediator with the Florida Supreme Court, a Guardian Ad Litem, the author of Florida’s Family Stabilization Parent Education Curriculum, a Personal Custody Coach and founder of Kids Need Both, Inc. She’s devoted her life to guiding families, through coaching, education and resources, to find workable, equitable, solutions to their custody conflicts. Her model includes educating professionals in the custody field, thus completing the circle of stakeholders, who will be empowered to find the best solutions for all. She continues to seek opportunities to collaborate with organizations that will support her model, and bring global healing to families.
Ms. Joan has dedicated her life to advocating for families going through a contentious divorce. Her work continues to evolve, and she's created a network of experts who expand her ability to support you as you enter new, often fraught, territory. Christine Cocchiola, LCSW, Tenured Professor discusses Coercive Control and how it affects Domestic Abuse Victims and children Apr 26, 2021

Christine Cocchiola, LCSW is a tenured professor at a community college teaching in the Human Services/Pre-Social Work Studies Program for over 19 years. Christine began her career in social work by becoming a Certified Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Counselor for Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury at the age of 19 where she remains a volunteer. Her expertise is in the area of intimate partner violence, trauma and child abuse and neglect. she has developed various training on these topics, presenting to agencies statewide, regionally and nationally.
Ms. Cocchiola is a 2022 candidate for a Doctorate in Social Welfare, attending New York University (NYU) where she teaches as an adjunct instructor; her Capstone Project and publications are focused on Intimate Partner Violence, specifically on Coercive Control and the impact that this abuse has on adult and child victims. She has been educating on the topic of Coercive Control, Post Separation Abuse, The Trauma Bond and Cognitive Dissonance and is actively involved in supporting Legislation that will codify Coercive Control as part of Domestic Violence, creating a policy brief that may be used by sponsors of such bills. Ms. Cocchiola has a private practice serving adolescents, families and couples and is a divorce mediator.

Trish Guise, High Conflict Divorce Strategist and New Ways for Families Coach, is back on Slam the Gavel with her son Ty with an excellent discussion involving divorce and coping skills. Also we discussed how Ty handled the holidays and what he would have wanted to see happen.
Explaining the difficulties of finding a good psychologist, Ty said he had seen several different psychologists each time and had to repeat his story over and over which he found very frustrating.
Ty also explained how he handled staying busy and now that he is 18 years of age described his job and what he thinks of working and what his future plans and career are.
Very enlightening young person with good values and much wisdom!

Kristine is a Star Producer and Ambassador for the Erasing Family Documentary, a non-profit feature-length film endorsed by the American Psychological Association. She is an advocate for shared parenting and family reunification.
She has been written about in Jamil Hasan's book Block Chain Ethics, Chapter 4 "Cracking the Glass Ceiling", about her passionate opposition to predatory capitalistic policies that shred families for money. Jamil also details the story of how Krissy made money on cryptocurrency to donate to Ginger Gentile the Director of the Erasing Dad and Erasing Family social impact documentaries.
2019, she was the subject of social justice documentarian, Marykate Santalucia short biography "Krissy Smith in Five Minutes." Krissy came out in that piece as a powerful and proud voice for the "Psychiatric Survivor" and #FreeBritney movements.
Krissy has written an amicus brief for Mary Bush that was rejected by the IN THE UNITED STATES COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE THIRD CIRCUIT "Kristine A. Smith on behalf of " “A parent's right to the companionship of his or her children areso fundamental as to be guaranteed protection under the First,Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments of the United StatesConstitution.” 324 A 2d 90; supra 129 NJ Super, at 489.

Slam the Gavel was honored to have Mr. Andrew Folkler on the show. He is a Professional Writer who specializes in Trauma, Personal Development and Parental Alienation. Andrew Folkler is also an Associate Producer of the documentary Erasing Family and the Co-Host of The Broken Families Podcast.
Andrew is an active speaker in the Parental Alienation Field, using his own experience of Estrangement from his Mother to help and guide parents and children who endure this egregious form of abuse.
Primary expertise lies in Parental Alienation as he has dealt with both estrangement from his Mother and brother via an Alienating Step-Mother. Andrew has been on both sides of the Alienation spectrum and has noted what works and what doesn't work. Andrew discusses the four tactics that Alienating Parents use to build estrangement and common mistakes estranged parents make when reconnecting. Also discussed was the Psychological concepts that empower the self and build trust with your Alienated Child, how to build connection with your child when they are apathetic or aggressive to you. Finally we discussed how Alienation can impact a child in their relationships within the realm of Family, friends and intimate partners.

Melanie Davis on Slam the Gavel shares her experience of losing her seven-month old daughter, Brynn to SIDS and how she found healing and purpose by sharing her story with those who could be encouraged and inspired by the wisdom and purpose through her daughter's death.
Melanie developed The Triumph Program to assist others to discover, write and share their own Triumph Stories and founded TRIUMPH PRESS, which publishes The Triumph Book Series, as well as the books and stories of others who have overcome adversity.
She has published multiple books addressing Parental Alienation and Narcissism, including my book, "Dismantling Family Court Corruption, Why Taking The Kids Was Not Enough," as well as "For The Love of Eryk:Survivng Divorce, Parental Alienation and Life After," by Rod McCall and "Married to a Narcissist: Enduring the Struggle and Finding You Again," by Catenya McHenry
Recently Melanie has partnered with Dr. Mark Roseman and Preserving Family Ties Publishing.
She also has been an advocate for Veterans since she wrote and published HEROES, the second book in The Triumph Series. She has spent the past four years working with Forgotten Veterans/Incarcerated Veterans, providing The Triumph Program: Overcoming PTSD and expanding it into a wholistic reentry program called H.O.N.O.R. Mentoring. She received the 2019 Texas Governor's Award for Service to Veterans, a Congressional Commendation from Congressman Brady and most recently, the 2020 Peacebuilder's Community Award for her programs which serve incarcerated veterans and their neighbors.

Deanna Kloostra back on the show to discuss trauma/torture techniques used by the judiciary in the Family Courtrooms. We discussed a new blog Torture Trauma Therapy.com. The discussion of two articles were fascinating, "Family Court Judges Do Not Give A Shit About Domestic Violence Victims," and "Judicial Violence With The Help Of An Abusive Partner."
We discussed Harvard Medical School, sleep deprivation affects your psychological state and mental health. As Americans are sleep deprived and chronic sleep problems affect 50% to 80% of patients in a typical psychiatric practice. Clinicians treating patients with psychiatric disorders have viewed insomnia and other sleep disorders as symptoms. Studies suggest that sleep problems may raise risk for or contribute the development of psychiatric disorders
Upon talking about Richard Gardner's work, Deanna would like to do more research.
