OG 298: NC State & UNC enter rivalry week with salty fans | Panthers lose, but Bryce Young wins vs. Chiefs | CFP logjam opens for ACC Nov 25, 2024

It all comes down to this - the true battle for Triangle Good between NC State and North Carolina! Joe Ovies and Joe Giglio open things up discussing the "best outcome" from the annual meeting between the Wolfpack and Tar Heels given both fanbases are incredibly salty about their respective situations. Meanwhile, Duke football fans want some love as Manny Diaz looks to wrap his first year in Durham with a "State Championship". As for the rest of college football, the SEC's bad weekend was great from the ACC. The biggest winner might be Clemson. To the NFL, where the Carolina Panthers took the Kansas City Chiefs to the brink. While the Panthers lost, it ended up being a big win for Bryce Young. In the Lightning Round, Ovies and Giglio wonder if ACC hoops is having a repeat of last year's early season woes and how the Carolina Hurricanes should handle their net with another goalie down with injury. The pod closes with a little "Tar Heel OG Sports Phone Therapy" following their loss to Boston College.

CBS Sports reported Mack Brown "intends" on being North Carolina's football coach in 2025. The framing of the story makes it clear it's coming from Brown's camp. The dynamics at play in Chapel Hill are a little complicated regarding Mack being back next season. From the boosters, to how the NCAA's House settlement will impact budgets, and whether or not UNC wants to spend a ton of money on an up and coming coach. Across the way, NC State is back in action in Atlanta. Can the Wolfpack win one of their final two games to reach bowl eligibility? After highlighting how things have turned around for Mack Brown and UNC, they get into how the CFP math isn't working out for the ACC. Meanwhile, the SEC and B1G can complain about strength of schedule comparisons, but the real issue is nobody in college football is prepared to talk about the playoff the way basketball fans already understand how the NCAA Tournament works - it's about who you beat. In the NFL Lightning Round, the Carolina Panthers enjoyed an open week and a few "Tell Me Something Good" moments. Did the Bills actually accomplish anything in beating the Chiefs? Are the Steelers legit good? And will Aaron Rodgers go out sad? Speaking of sad -- it's sad we were all drawn to the Jake Paul spectacle against Mike Tyson. What pulled us in?
