46: Are You My Daddy?: The Baker’s Son
Mar 01, 2022
Show notes
It's Mangia March and this month we are doing everything: Food. Our first episode is The Baker's Son starring Brant Daugherty as Matt Duvall, a very meh baker in a sleepy seaside town. The only good thing around is Matt's bestie Annie McBride played by Eloise Mumford. Both find love when a ballet company comes to town but they quickly realize that they are dancing around their feelings for each other. In this episode we describe the Instacart wars we wage on each other, our new Mangia March nicknames (Tamara is Yeasty and Corinne is Tangy and when we're together one may need antibiotics), and how Papa Jean the father in the movie should have gotten into pizza instead of baking. This movie could be A-Meh-Zing or Meh-diocre, find out with us as we visit The Baker's Son.
45: Juicing the Baby Making Blanket: The Proposal
Feb 22, 2022
Show notes
This week we are recapping our 2nd Betty White movie. We couldn't end the month of love on a sad note so we are doing The Proposal! It stars Sandra Bullock as Margaret Tate, an intimidating book editor who is at risk of being deported unless she can convince her loyal assistant Andrew Paxton, played by Ryan Reynolds to marry her. And Betty White plays the lovable Gammy character. In this episode we discuss the enigma of 80's style, the 'helpful' diet products of the 50's and how there are not enough occasions in life to jump out of a cake topless. We also divulge why Corinne is now the proud owner of an ovulation thermometer, which will be helpful because there is a nude scene and it is HOT! This is a very Un-Hallmark movie but it's a good one so we propose you join us for The Proposal.
44: Zipped Up Vajayjay With a Side of Husky Voice: The Lost Valentine
Feb 15, 2022
Show notes
In this February episode we laugh and cry because our Valentine is the late, great, Betty White. She starred in a couple of Hallmark movies including The Lost Valentine: where she played Caroline Thomas, a widowed wife who pines for her lost husband, until she meets Susan Allison, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt, a reporter who helps her find him. In this episode we describe the varying degrees of each other's bed heads, retell some scintillating scenes where Susan practically humps Caroline's grandson (but does it elegantly, like a lady) and Tamara ugly cries but Corinne can't pass her tissues cause she has Covid (seriously, but she's fine). We admire Caroline's patience and fortitude in this movie but we have A LOT of questions. We know you do too, so we invite you to join us as we look for The Lost Valentine
43: Claiming Kisses & Filling Bachelor Holes: Falling for You
Feb 08, 2022
Show notes
Our 2nd Favorite Valentine episode is Falling for You. It may be our most contentious episode because we have several disagreements except for our love of Tyler Hynes (our Valentine)! He plays Zac Malone, a software engineer, sent to a small town to troubleshoot his budgeting software. There he meets Lacey Hathaway, played by Taylor Cole, a radio DJ that lost her funding because of his software. Lacey has an idea on how to raise money and she's going to need Zac's help to do it (hint: it involves baked goods with a potential side of sex). In this episode we discover the nepotism behind the flawless Hallmark cookies, explore our inner Disney princesses and get into a few hair pulling fights over the movie's work/life balance. A line from the movie is 'stressed spelled backwards is desserts' and we can't stress how much we loved covering Falling for You.
42: Thigh Masters & Dulce de Leche Diversity: Surprised by Love
Feb 01, 2022
Show notes
We are starting off February with our Favorite Valentines. This week we are doing Surprised by Love starring Hilarie Burton as Josie, our Valentine Paul Campbell as Gridley and our unofficial Valentine Tim Conway who plays Grandad. In this episode in addition to love we give some mediocre advice such as: how to be an effective executive (hint: it involves exercising while talking on the phone), explain the usefulness of grape scissors and the many ways to pronounce foyer. This is our second attempt at recapping this movie because Paul Campbell is so nice we did him twice. Unfortunately the first attempt will never see the light of day so you'll just have to enjoy this one, where we are Surprised by Love.
41: The Bluckleberry Of It All: The 27 Hour Day
Jan 25, 2022
Show notes
he last episode in January's-New Year New Me series is: The 27 Hour Day and this movie felt like it was 27 hours! It stars Autumn Reeser as Lauren, an efficiency guru trying to find a better work life balance. She goes to a relaxation retreat called Meadow Lawn, owned by Jack, played by Andrew W. Walker. He's looking to expand his resort empire and their worlds collide as they contend with their different views and growing attraction to each other. In this episode we portmanteau the word blueberry and huckleberry (bluckleberry!) and overuse it mercilessly. We also perfect the beauty queen version of finger flipping and introduce Godzilla pig to the world. We invite you to join us at the Meadow Lawn 'Shame' Retreat where you MUST WIN at relaxation!! We can show you how and it'll only take a 27 Hour Day.
40: Satan Farms & Passionate Forehead Kisses-Love, Of Course
Jan 18, 2022
Show notes
Our New year, New Me, theme is still going strong! We are doing Love, Of Course starring Kelly Rutherford as Amy, a single mom who's trying to find her next chapter when she meets Noah, played by Cameron Mathison, a college professor who is set in his ways. They are forced to work together over fun-stivals, corn mazes and meaningful games of Marco Polo. In this episode we discuss: how flaccid 'forms' are fine for everyday wear, how the most important step of farming is softly playing violin music to the corn and trademark sexy lingerie made out of gently used tissues. We wanted to hate this movie but something won us over and we realized it was Love, Of Course!
39: Strudel Voids & Schnitzel Innuendos: Winter in Vail
Jan 11, 2022
Show notes
We are ringing in the New Year with Winter in Vail. And who better to spend those cold winter nights with than Lacey Chabert and Tyler Hines! Lacey plays Chelsea, a city girl who moves to a small town to find herself. Where she meets Owen, played by Tyler, a handsome handy man who tries to show her how to slow down. In this episode we cry foul at the fact that Owen never takes his shirt off, marvel at the actual snow in the movie and Tamara tries to talk Corinne out of adopting her as a sugar mama. Even though all Corinne wants is the entirety of a Sanrio Hello Kitty Store. There are terrible innuendos made and missed clothing montages but we try to focus on all the warmth and goodness that we find during our Winter in Vail.

38: The Feathered Hair and Shoulder Pads of it All: Facts of Life, Christmas in the Big House
Dec 28, 2021
Show notes
We end the holiday season with a break from our regularly scheduled programming. We are covering the 80's sitcom Facts of Life-Christmas in the Big House. This show is about 4 girls who try to navigate the rough waters of teendom with the help of their wise house mother Mrs. Garrison. This episode is as bananas as this year was and includes many of our song stylings, we're trying to get it all out before the season comes to a close. We would like to thank all of our listeners who have supported us in 2021. We hope you have a wonderful new year and we will see you all in 2022.
