Show notes
We are deep into the Maysteries and this week we are doing Chronicle Mysteries: Recovered, starring Allison Sweeney as Alex McPherson and Benjamin Ayers as Drew Godfrey. Allison, a true crime podcaster, comes back to her hometown to solve a cold case and solicits the help of Drew, a reluctant reporter for help. In this episode we ponder why we picked this movie? There are underdeveloped plot lines and loose ends a plenty. It's also the dryest kiss month in all of ODK history and we were never that moist to begin with! But we do solve the mystery of why Dodge Neons aren't made anymore...so there's that. We are living on Scooby Doo snacks and mystery machine dreams and we hope you join us for Chronicle Mysteries: Recovered.
54: Hook Up Hunger Games & Turnip Quests: Morning Show Mysteries: Mortal Mishaps

We're dipping our toes in the water of our May-steries month. The first movie is Morning Show Mysteries: Mortal Mishaps, starring Holly Robinson Peete as Billie Blessings and Rick Fox as Detective Ian Jackson. When a producer dies on the show Billie has a cooking segment on, she is suspected of the crime. Detective Jackson is investigating the case and just happens to be Billie's high school sweetheart. In this episode there are zero dry kisses but lots of speculation on how to sext with a carrier pigeon, how finding R.I.P in your wine fridge may stand for Rose, Ice Wine and Pinot and the many religious dishes they should serve at Blessings restaurant. We have to inject the love anywhere we can in this movie but there are plenty of Scooby Doo moments on Morning Show Mysteres: Mortal Mishaps.
53: Rejected Weenies & The Wrong Kind of Facial: Don't Go Breaking My Heart
Apr 26, 2022
Show notes
We are in the final episode of April's Learning How to Love and are recapping Don't Go Breaking My Heart, starring Italia Ricci as Miranda and Ryan Paevey as Ben. Miranda is the founder of a popular boot camp for the recently broken hearted. Ben gets roped into joining and sparks fly as both Miranda and Ben navigate their feelings and attempt to mend their broken hearts. In this episode we analyze why Hallmark movies are so weenie heavy (hot dogs not man meat), How calling someone 'Bro' should be a punchable offense and how we reeeally must want the movie to take place in Seattle instead of Portland. The geography is horrible in this movie but the love advice is pretty decent in Don't Go Breaking My Heart.
52: Nipple Belts and Piñata Trauma: The Dater's Handbook
Apr 19, 2022
Show notes
This week we are Learning How to Love with royalty and Joe, host of the podcast Small Town Failing! Joe joins us to recap The Daters Handbook: starring Meghan Markle (The Duchess of Sussex) as Cass and Kristoffer Polaha as Robert. Cass, frustrated with her failing relationships, turns to The Daters Handbook for advice on how to find 'Mr. Right'. But Robert has his eye on Cass and is everything the Handbook says to avoid. In this episode we discuss how the hora is the lambada of the Jewish religion, the lies John Hughes movies tell us and grill Joe on what Ice Wine actually tastes like. The advice is bad but we will give you the Cliffs Notes to A Dater's Handbook

Our next Learn How to Love episode is one of our favorites. It's How to Fall in Love, starring Brooke D'Orsay as Annie and Eric Mabius as Harold. Harold, a mild mannered accountant, is trying to overcome his awkward dating history and find love. And who does he recruit to help him? Annie, a free spirit who's trying to find herself and also happens to be Harold's high school crush. In this episode we discuss: the necessity of alcohol at children's birthday parties, how Corinne's storytelling get's easily sidetracked by a nice blender and have fun with names, like how Harold's name means-war chief (so he will assault you with his love) and is Annie ok with that.....Annie are you ok, are you ok Annie? Come with us as we get the 8 steps of How to Fall in Love
50: A Basket of Gi's & Rethink Your Bangs: Advice to Love By

It's our 50th episode, WhooHoo, and Spring is in the air! We are spending our April Learning How to Love. Our first instructional movie is Advice to Love By starring Erinn Westbrook as Kendall Taylor and Brooks Darnell as Nathan Hart. Kendall and Nathan both give advice on love and dating but have very different points of view on how to do it, until they start falling for each other. In this movie we will discuss: how important information is thwarted by falling leaves, how Nathan tries to kill his co-workers wife with flowers and how Hallmark movies should include more cages and cheek licking. We highly recommend you listen to this episode but do NOT recommend that you take the Advice to Love By given in our movie of the week.
We F**king Forgot Our 50th

Show notes
We are on the precipice of our 50th episode and while most people celebrate this milestone with celebration and fanfare....we completely forgot it. We didn't realize there was a 5th Tuesday in March. While we have a few episodes prepped and ready they are all under our 'How To Love' theme that we are doing in April. So, we decided to release and 'ooops we f**ked up' bonus episode to commemorate this momentous occasion and we will be back with our regularly scheduled programming next week where we will cover the movie Advice to Love By.
49: Mama AntipastAway & The Poo-Pocalypse: Welcome to Mama's
Mar 22, 2022
Show notes
It's the last episode of Mangia March and we are covering Welcome to Mama's. We are joined at the top of the episode by Kerry Frances who tells us about acting, singing and being an impromptu reporter at Christmas Con, where she got to interview our favorite Hallmark stars! Then we dive into the tale of Amy, played by Melanie Scrofano who inherits a struggling restaurant and its truculent head chef named Frank, played by Daniel di Tomasso. Their tempers sizzle over what direction the restaurant should take but an old love story and a book full of recipes point them in the right direction. In this meaty story we discuss if Hallmark fan fiction could include Frank ending up with Sal, Corinne's love for Matty Finochio's eyebrows and the need for emotional support sock puppets especially at a family style dinner. Our new motto this month is 'No spelled backwards is On' and this episode is On so we hope you join us because there is a standing reservation for you, at Welcome to Mama's.
48: I Bleed BBQ Sauce & Joe Mama: Season for Love
Mar 15, 2022
Show notes
We are deep into Mangia March and this week we have a smoking new episode. We are covering Season for Love. It stars Autumn Reeser as Tyler, a single mom trying to find a new path after her life in the big city fizzled out. She returns home where she runs into Corey, played by Marc Blucas, a successful BBQ entrepreneur who's trying to rekindle his passion for cooking. In this episode we invent a re-Flesh-ment table (could be good, could be bad, could be hot, we're not sure), talk about the uber sensitive kiss tractor beam TM that always gets shut off at inopportune moments and ponder the possibility of an erotic BBQ cookbook (sounds messy and we're not mad at it). This movie helps us realize that life is better with a side of BBQ, so jump on this sausage pony and ride with us as we savor a Season for Love.
47: Master bakers & A Town Called Spork: The Secret Ingredient
Mar 08, 2022
Show notes
Still hungry for another Mangia March episode? Well you're in luck because we are absolutely consumed with The Secret Ingredient. It stars Erin Cahill as Kelly McIntyre, a small town baker who is slated to compete on a huge cooking show. But before her big break she keeps getting sidetracked by her Ex Andrew York played by Brendan Penny, who pops up everywhere and gets her emotional juices sloshing. In this episode we reveal the intriguing reason that Corinne feels cagey, contemplate why Brendan Penny constantly wears gloves and explore this movie's obsession with macaroons and hair ringlets (someone has a curling iron and they're not afraid to use it!) We hope you come along with us to figure out what the Shhhhh Secret Ingredient is.
