Momentum for the Entrepreneurial Personality Type (EPT)

The Momentum Podcast is for those who of us who think differently — made especially for empire builders, game-changers, trailblazers, record makers, and creators of all kinds. Those among us who can’t turn it off, and don’t know why anyone would want to. We challenge complacency, destroy apathy, and we are obsessed with creating momentum.

While the rest of the world strives for average and clings desperately to the status quo, you and I are compelled to move forward and change the world.

We are the minority, the few, who are willing to hallucinate there could be a better future. Instead of just daydreaming of what could be, we endure the vulnerability and exposure it takes to make it real. We are the evolutionary hunters. The most important people in the world because entrepreneurs are the only source of consistent, positive human evolution, and we always will be.

675 - How to Get Your Priorities Straight Dec 08, 2020
    Show notes

Prioritization is a powerful tool for effectively solving problems in your business. The problem is that it is also one of the most overlooked. Many companies take the concept of a parking lot and put it in place in their business. They take the ideas they have and put them in one place with the assumption that they will be taken care of someday in the future. The challenge with this approach is that a parking lot lacks prioritization. Ideas are placed there without a method of how to handle them. What works better is a priorities list. In this episode, Alex brings in his leadership team to give insight into how we prioritize projects and processes in our business. This step in the Charfen Process is how we maintain momentum even when things feel broken. Resources Mentioned: https://billionairecode.com

    674 - Analysis is Not Inaction Dec 04, 2020
    Show notes

One of the most overlooked opportunities for entrepreneurs is to analyze their current situation in order to understand how they should best move forward. Most entrepreneurs move from idea to action quickly because they feel like, otherwise, they are doing nothing. The reality is that the best thing for your business, your personal life, and your relationships is for you to take a step back and analyze the situation to determine what the best course of action actually is. In this episode, Alex coaches one of our members through this process at the Charfen Summit, an event for all of our members. Alex gives insight into the systems and processes we have created as a company in order to help entrepreneurs overcome the instinct of idea-to-action, and learn how to analyze and think like a successful entrepreneur. 673 - A Sneak Peak of the Charfen Summit Dec 01, 2020
    Show notes

The Charfen Summit is the ultimate community of entrepreneurs banding together to grow and scale their businesses. It is normally reserved for members of our coaching programs, but today, we are going to give you a peek behind the curtain into the room. At the Summit, members of our programs get to take a deep dive into the foundational content of our systems and get direct coaching from Alex. Each time we host a Summit, it is game-changing for the businesses we work with and we all get into momentum together. In this clip, Alex is answering a question for Devin Dorosh, a member of our Catalyst program. His business, Grillaholics, is incredible and growing quickly. In this interaction, Alex discusses the Charfen Process, which is our framework for making decisions on anything we do as a company and it is the foundation of what we teach at every level of the Billionaire Code. 672 - Is Your Management Style Destroying Trust With Your Team? Nov 24, 2020
    Show notes

Transactional management versus transformational leadership is a topic that I speak about often. I shared this yesterday with the attendees at Stephen Larsen's event. Each time I share this information, I have new awareness is an understanding of just how critical these concepts are. When I was speaking yesterday, I became acutely aware of just how fast and how damaging transactional management is. There's this recurring story I hear from entrepreneurs about the people they've hired… It goes something like this: "I hired this person and they were amazing for the first few months and then things started going bad. I think I need to replace them." More often than not, the problem is how the person is being managed, not the person themselves. Resources Mentioned:

    671 - Are You a Visionary Arsonist? Nov 20, 2020
    Show notes

As entrepreneurs, we have a hard time when the world around us doesn't go fast enough. This can cause us to challenge the people around us and destroy the plans that we make. Our restlessness can cause us to slow the growth of our business down when what we are trying to do is speed it up. I am very familiar with this. It's something that I do often and have to go back and repair with my team. I think every visionary does this in some way, and the more aware we are, the less we will do it and the more we allow our team to grow. Resources Mentioned: https://billionairecode.com

670 - How to Change Your Behavior Faster Nov 17, 2020
    Show notes

The path to growth for an entrepreneur goes directly through behavioral change.

At each new level of growth for our company, our behaviors change almost completely.

One of the reasons so many entrepreneurial businesses get stuck and stop growing is that entrepreneurs stop changing behavior and growing themselves. It's incredibly difficult for a business to grow when the owner doesn't.

In the past few years, I found a way to change behavior faster. This process is not intuitive, but it works like crazy and also provides significant support for your team.

669 - The Truth About Damage of Lying to Yourself Nov 13, 2020
    Show notes

So often, for entrepreneurs, there is a hesitation to face the realities of your business. Many of us feel the pressure of making our numbers sound better than they are with the people around us, or worse, ourselves. When we make the situation in our business sound better than it actually is, we run the risk of missing the important steps we need to take to ensure our business is growing.

In this episode, Alex shares a personal example of what happens when an entrepreneur is not honest with themselves about where they are in their business and how you can start to fix that issue right now. Alex also shares the dangerous feeling of not wanting to sell to your friends, and the deeper meaning behind that hesitation.

668 - How to Make Self Discipline Simple Right Now Nov 10, 2020
    Show notes

I define discipline as keeping the commitment that you make to yourself. I have a confession to make; naturally, I'm not very disciplined. It's actually difficult for me to remain disciplined. I can intend to do something, get up in the morning, think about it, forget that I was going to do it, and then realize a day later I didn't do it. It's incredibly frustrating. Even if something is important, if I just try to use discipline and willpower, chances are it's not going to happen. And if it does happen, it's usually the exception. Most people around me would be shocked to hear this because they see me as incredibly disciplined, consistent, and capable of doing more than most people, and just about everything I do. This is also true. I was not born disciplined, but I have found a simple way to create extraordinary discipline that gets results.

667 - When Work is Your Safe Place Nov 06, 2020
    Show notes

So often these days, when I share advice with entrepreneurs, I'm sharing contrast between what I used to do and what I've learned to do with experience. When it comes to recruiting, hiring, and motivating teams, this is often the case. Unfortunately, when I was younger, I was a pretty challenging leader. I was myopic and almost entirely focused on the business, I didn't really want to know what was going on with my team, and I saw people as process who were there only to help me get things done. Over the past, almost 30 years of leading teams, my perception has completely changed. I now know that creating a safe emotional environment for my team is one of the biggest advantages that creates our success. Recently several members of my team have been experiencing some difficult life situations. We have a specified time to talk about what is going on openly with the rest of the team, so other people understand what is going on. The contrast between the teams on right now and the teams are used to run clear. In the past, people did what they had to do to keep their job with the companies I ran. Today, people see work as their safe place and do everything they can to show up for each other.

666 - This Will Preserve Entrepreneurial Momentum Nov 03, 2020
    Show notes

For many of us, it feels like the world is more chaotic than it ever has been. We are dealing with a number of crisis situations as a society and as a global population. There are political issues in many countries, social issues in the same countries, medical issues that the entire globe is dealing with, and radical financial and economic issues. The world is as chaotic as it has been in my lifetime. Times like this can provide a specific advantage to us as entrepreneurs. If we are able to focus and maintain our momentum, while the rest of the world is in chaos, we can quickly get ahead and gain an advantage. In this episode, I share more about how to make sure you don't just maintain your momentum but you increase it and turn this into a massive period of growth for yourself.
