The Downside To Trying To Be Minimalist (4 Things To Avoid) Jan 15, 2020
    Show notes

There are 4 downsides to trying to be a minimalist that you should avoid. These are traps that I see people falling into time and time again (myself included) and I want to save you the hassle and confusion! In this episode, I share some concerns about the minimalist community and the barrage of teachers who are spreading the message of less (a good message, btw) and how this is impacting the lives of those who are working toward becoming clutter-free.

What If You Lost It All? (A Mental Exercise About Your Home) Jan 08, 2020
    Show notes

You've probably participated in one of those "What would you bring to a desert island?" or "What are the first 3 things you would grab if your house was on fire?" Well, yes, this exercise/visualization is pretty much like that EXCEPT that I highlight some focal points to really hone in on within this whole scenario. We tend to focus on 1 or 2 areas of these scenarios without even realizing it. So, I want to guide you through a mental exercise that will actually help you inside of your home spaces as it is right now.

Making Your Vision Your Reality Jan 01, 2020
    Show notes

I recently had this vulnerable post moment (over on the Instagrams) where I shared this movie-like vision of this person who I thought I would be by now and what "she" looked like in my mind's eye for the future. Like, when I sit and think of my life 5 or 10 years from now, this chick appears. So, I share a bit about who this person is (and even more in this weird IG post I made) but, here's the thing, this realization hit me out of nowhere a couple of weeks ago. I think we all have these vivid ideas of who we are and where we're going but we don't necessarily always know that we have them. This episode is about diving into that mental-movie and coming to terms with making your own vision a reality (or not).

Enough Is a Decision, Not An Amount (So, How Do You Know?) Dec 26, 2019
    Show notes

If you've tried to take on a clutter-free lifestyle, then you've likely come across the dilemma of wondering, "When is it enough?". There are so many doctrines out there offering guidelines for achieving a stasis of enough- having enough, minimized enough, having/doing/being enough.

2 Approaches To Minimizing Stuff (And Which One I Prefer) Dec 18, 2019
    Show notes

There are 2 primary approaches to minimizing your stuff and I'm going to share them both in this episode. You'll, of course, learn which one I feel is the bee's knees and why. It's important to understand how to get started and the philosophy you intend to carry throughout your project. I share exactly how big of a deal having the right philosophy is and how I've seen both of these approaches influence my students.

The Art Of Rejecting Dec 13, 2019
    Show notes

"Rejection" sounds like a gross word. It's probably one of the most repulsive words in the English dictionary- mostly because, as social beings, we respond sharply to feelings of rejection. We relate to that. And in many cases, a developed fear of rejection can extend to everything we come into contact with- including our belongings.

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things Dec 05, 2019
    Show notes

This is a delightful episode that's just filled with the things that I love! (Raindrops on roses and such). I tell my students to use all 5 senses to create what I call "energy enhancers" for their space and that's what I'm encouraging you to do by sharing the down and dirty of what's rocking my world (in all 5 senses) within my own home.
