MOTM #478: An Introduction to Smart Tools and Blood Flow Restriction with Nick Colosi May 25, 2023
    Show notes

I’m obsessed with looking for the best of the best, and finding people who are committed to making the best possible product. It’s always been my goal to help all of you cut through the noise out there and just find good shit that works well. That’s why I’m so pumped to be talking to (former Chiropractor, believe it or not!) Nick Colosi, who is the co-founder of Smart Tools, a company providing BFR, IASTM, and other PT tools.

I specifically wanted to talk to Nick about the BFR—or Blood Flow Restriction, if you aren’t in the know—cuffs that his company sells. So many PT’s are too scared to try something like BFR due to safety and legal concerns, but it’s the way forward. Smart Tools is creating not only a high-quality product, but high-quality educational content so more people can get their hands on BFR technology to get better, faster, and easier results.

Welcome to Maestro on the Mic, a podcast that helps online business owners find their passion, generate more profit, and build a life that they love. I'm your host, Dr. Shanté Cofield, aka The Movement Maestro, and I’m stoked to have you here. I hope this podcast inspires you to make moves and do the thing. Action is the answer.

    In This Episode You'll Hear:

    • The birth of Smart Tools
    • Building the brand and marketing
    • Getting in to BFR
    • The science behind BFR
    • Safety concerns
    • An educational arm to the business
    • Better, faster, easier results
    • The different models
    • Continuous, resting, and intermittent BFR
    • Sizing options + app features
    • Smart Tools courses
    • What makes Smart Tools different?

MOTM #477: Setting Boundaries with Your Clients May 22, 2023

The way I see it, setting boundaries with your clients is simply choosing to make your own well-being a priority rather than someone else’s desires. We have no problem setting boundaries for kids or other people we care about, so why is it so damn hard when it comes to boundary setting for ourselves? Boundaries are basic. If you want to be doing this for a long time, you’re gonna need to learn ho to set them.

MOTM #476: People-Pleasing, Perfectionism, and Finding Peace with Erica Webb May 18, 2023
    Show notes

Erica Webb works with the people-pleasers of the world. As a former people-pleaser and self-hater, she helps others who are just like her past self, those with a nasty inner-critic, to find self-kindness through movement and mindset. Because according to Erica, we can change the world when we’re kind to ourselves.

It’s not been a smooth or a quick journey for Erica, and that’s why I had to bring her on. This is what building an online business looks like. It’s not instant success, or millions of dollars over-night. It’s hard work put in over years, allowing yourself and you business to change, and to always take action guided by your values. It’s allowing yourself time to figure things out, and refusing to make yourself into a martyr over a business you hate. You can work hard as hell and protect your peace, all while enjoying the process.

    • Erica before online business
    • Self-love vs. self-trust
    • Going from in-person to online
    • Doing “the work” and prioritizing yourself
    • Trusting your inner-knowing
    • Actions guided by our values
    • Getting closer to our own humanity
    • A long process of niching down
    • What keeps Erica going
    • Hard work doesn’t have to be martyrdom
