Chargers Should Steer Clear Of Ezekiel Elliot But Other Free Agency Connections Make Sense Mar 23, 2023

Show notes

The Los Angeles Chargers have strong ties Ezekiel Elliot and many other free agents still on the market. Does a Zeke reunion with new OC Kellen Moore make sense? With holes on the defense maybe the Chargers look to reunite Brandon Staley with with safety John Johnson or even Taylor Rapp. The guys discuss the free agents still left on the market with plenty of connections with the Los Angeles coaching staff. Veterans Shelby Harris and Justin Houston could be some depth to the Chargers front. Some key players from the 2022 squad are still out there like Kyle Van Noy and Bryce Callahan as well. After testing the market, they could consider running it back.

The Los Angeles Chargers Have Aced Free Agency So Far But There's Still Work To Be Done Mar 21, 2023

Show notes

Free Agency has been great for the Los Angeles Chargers clearing cap space and filling major starting roles with Eric Kendricks and Trey Pipkins. Tom Telesco has done a good job not overpaying so far, but will have to find more great deals to fill in the cracks on the Chargers roster. With most starting jobs accounted for the key depth pieces are what needs to be addressed next. The Chargers have stars like Keenan Allen and Joey Bosa at EDGE rusher and receiver, but finding depth at those positions is crucial given their injuries in 2022. The tight end position is less of a need now with Los Angeles re-signing Donald Parham. Even after securing Parham, the TE room still has questions, and could be a position the Chargers target early in the NFL Draft.

Former Chargers LB Drue Tranquill Bolts For Chiefs | Post Free Agency 2-Round Chargers Mock Draft Mar 20, 2023

Show notes

The Los Angeles Chargers let Drue Tranquill leave in free agency in favor of Eric Kendricks and now he will join the rival Chiefs. How much did the Chargers want their former linebacker back? The guys also get into their first two-round mock draft of the season after the first week of NFL free agency. Safety is not the Chargers biggest need at the moment, but if Brian Branch falls he may be too good to pass up. If they decide to go offense, electric playmaker Zay Flowers still makes a ton of sense. There are a number of ways Los Angeles could attack the second round but the hosts make their cases for tight end Sam LaPorta and linebacker Jack Campbell.
