Relative Usage | An Exercise Nov 14, 2025

Show notes

Building a roster that is personally expressive, plays well with your friends, and is fun to play is a tricky and ongoing task for all commander players. Kyle sets up a premise for checking how far his roster might skew towards personal preferences and whether he's straying too far from the crowd to have a balanced roster experience. He and Andy then take a look to see if there are any themes in juxtaposition with the EDHREC data. Look for links to deck lists on our lists-from-the-pod channel on Discord. Card Concepts for Commander Damage Oct 31, 2025

Show notes

Concepts are one thing, but what about some cards. If you listened to the recent Anatomy of a Killer episode, you've probably been mulling over Andy's sub-archetypes for Voltron commander decks. With the concepts in hand, let's start thinking about the concrete cards that cover all bases. While the obvious cards may be out there, can we find some nuance in balancing on the line between being a killer and being killed in the game of EDH? House Rules Evolution | Therapy Session Sep 30, 2025

Multifaceted Mill Sep 12, 2025

Show notes

Mill often connotes getting to the bottom of your opponents' libraries, but does that connotation keep us from looking at some of its other uses? Kyle guides a conversation with Andy into exploring a brief history of how mill came to be a part of the game and takes a look at the many ways decks and commander design are hooking into what mill can provide. Maybe next time you're up to other mechanical things with a deck, you can show off that you're into mill too, leaving your delighted friends to say, "Imagine that."
