    JFD547: Bikini Drive-in, Freeway, Inland Empire Dec 18, 2020
Show notes We're getting close to putting a bow on 2020 and wrapping up this God-forsaken year, so for our second-to-last show of the year, we're diving into three uniquely weird and sleazy flicks for a uniquely weird and sleazy year.
Up first, a young woman (Kim Taylor) inherits a struggling drive-in movie theater from her recently deceased grandfather. But when she realizes that the theater is in a ton of debt, she calls on her bikini-clad friends to help drum up business in Fred Olen Ray's Bikini Drive-in from 1995.
Then, Reese Witherspoon plays a troubled teen on the run after her abusive parents are sent to jail. When she runs afoul of Kiefer Sutherland, a serial killer and pedophile, she defends herself and almost kills him, but finds herself on the wrong side of the law in the sleazy adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood, Freeway from 1996.
And finally, we observe David Lynch at his Lynchiest in 2006's Inland Empire. A 3 hour epic, shot on a consumer-grade digital camera with Laura Dern as an actress slipping in and out of reality.
All this plus cereal news, the year that wasn't, Clockwork Orange theories, the death of Zeus, more Star Wars chat than Kevin is comfortable with, the hottest blu-rays of the week and so much more.

JFD546: Planes, Trains and Automobiles, The Alien Factor, Ninja Zombie Dec 11, 2020
Show notes It's been a long & lonely year in Junk Food Dinner land, without all the late-nite Corn Gorn partying and early-morning Ghoul Summer partying we're used to. The only silver lining in this hellish cloudscape has been the steadfast support of our loyal Dom Deluise Patreon Patrons, who have pledged to keep us warm all winter long with their hot-ass movie picks. And this week we got three scorchers!
Up first! Y'all remember that popular winter holiday everyone celebrates and makes movies about? Well, 1987's Planes, Trains and Automobiles (picked by Kessa), isn't actually about Christmas - nor, despite the appearance of John "Halloween" Candy is it about All Hallow's Eve. No, good friends of podcastingland, it's that John Hughes movie about Thanksgiving, for some reason! Also featuring Steve Martin! As one-half of an odd-coupling with none-other than the Candy-man himself! It's the one where the grown men share a hotel bed.
Next up! We've seen Nightbeast. You've seen Nightbeast. We hadn't seen The Alien Factor. But we've all seen The Alien Factor. That's because, of course, 1978's earlier-shot-and-long-shelved The Alien Factor (picked by Brendon) is more or less just Nightbeast with worse cameras. But that doesn't mean we love it (or Baltmore-area schlockmaster Don Dohler) any less for it!
Finally! It's a third Patreon-picked film! With a zombie who is also a ninja! Of course, we're talking about the recently unearthed-by-AGFA Ninja Zombie from 1992. It's that weird and wacky movie that seems like it was shot primarily as an excuse to play with samurai swords in a public park. And isn't that what life is all about?!
All this plus a christmas-grinch's podcasting heart turns three times larger, grandma's nips by popular demand, Japanese yuletide styles, regional theme park foods, Garth Brooks makes an appearance, the uncles are listening, this time Kevin's the skype-y one!, kentucky fried shamelessness, Hunter & Gunn: A Lovesong, a bonafide flurry of emoji chatter, eggnog hangovers, sci-fidelity ambience, ginger-spiced sneezes our weekly news plus blu-ray picks and even more!

JFD545: High Anxiety, the Funhouse, Nothing but Trouble Dec 04, 2020
    Show notes

We're back with an almost the end of the year cry for help! We all accidentally picked high stress movies about paranoia and anxiety this week!

First, Mel Brooks plays a pyschiatrist who gets mixed up in a conspiracy in the Hitchcock spoof "High Anxiety."

Next, four teens run afoul of a Frankenstein murder in Tobe Hooper's "The Funhouse," a movie with no evil clowns.

Finally, Chevy Chase and Demi Moore get caught up in some pretty average bureaucracy in the movie that killed so many careers -- "Nothing but Trouble."

ALl this plus flatulence chat, nerd news, dvds, sad nerd news, Tom from Adelaide, Kevin wants your soup, Thanksgiving chat and so much more!

JFD544: F.A.R.T. The Movie, American Flatulators, Les Patterson Saves the World Nov 26, 2020
    Show notes
Happy Fartsgiving, everyone! We know that a day full of stuffing your face with meats, veggies and carbs is certainly going to lead to some intestinal discomfort. So we're here to wallow in the stinky aftermath with you and we've brought along three fart-centric "films" to help pass the time (and the gas).
Up first, we have a tape so outrageous for the first several years of its existence, you could only get it in novelty shops! Of course we're talking about the notorious F.A.R.T. The Movie from 1991, starring Joel Weiss as Russell, a dude who's two favorite things in life are watching TV and farting. But when his wife leaves him at home on New Year's Eve to watch nothing but fart-related programming, will he have a change of heart (or change of farts)?
Next, we take a look at a 50-minute parody of then-popular American Gladiators TV show titled American Flatulators from 1995. It's just like Gladiators but all the competition is based around, you guessed it, farting.
And finally, we take a look at the film that essentially killed the Australian film industry with one big fart, Les Patterson Saves the World from 1987. It stars infamous Aussie gross-out humorist Barry Humphries and the titular Patterson (as well as his alter ego Dame Edna Everage) as he acts as a diplomat to the Middle East and inadvertently saves the world from biological warfare.
All this plus Sean's love of Peacock, Parker getting down with the sickness, a call from the Ghost of Norman Bates, inappropriate Monty Python stories, Freddy Krueger news, the hottest blu-rays of the week and so much more.

JFD543: Cher... And Other Fantasies, Heavy Metal Parking Lot, Your Studio and You Nov 19, 2020
Show notes Stop everything you are doing! Except for reading this, which you'll need to continue to do so that we can tell you about this INCREDIBLE PODCAST EPISODE! Or, if you've already stopped reading: just donloyd and listen along as we review three short films. You'll love the surprise!
Up first! Y'all remember that popular singer Cher? Y'all remember Cher... and Other Fantasies from 1979? It's okay, nobody does or probably should. But there's some surprising reasons why we've picked it for the show, and we know that you, potentially-still-reading reader, love surprises.
Next up! Rock out with your Busch out, as we jump the bownes of 1986's bitchin' Heavy Metal Parking Lot, a fly-on-the-pavement chronicling of a typical Saturday night in Maryland: complete with acid casualty teens, wasted youths, and non-consensual full-body air guitar. Come for the Zebraman, stay for the silent bearded thumbs-up fella.
Finally! It's a third short film! With famous directors, famous drummers from Goldfinger, Seagram's wine coolers and porcelain deer! Of course, we're talking about the Matt & Trey classic Your Studio and You from 1995. It's that weird and wacky backlot thing they made for that corporate party none of us were invited to, and you'll love it as much (or as little) as we do!
All this plus slippin' into shorts, things you can't do during Covid, Kevin Kuts Loose, two thirds of a Friday the 13th celebration, Kevin learns to love again, is Freddy canceled?, is Baby Yoda canceled?, is canceling canceled?, the murky flavours of the swamps of Dagobah, cult film politics, a gang of junkmailers, Hagar the Watchable?, a bevy of costume changes, injecting beef fat into Egg McMuffins, Sean's ultimate tourism betrayal of Parker Bowman revealed, Uber are the real monsters, how to get famous in the 60s and 70s, auditory illusions, it was a different time, our weekly news plus blu-ray picks and even more!

JFD541: Hollywood Hot Tubs, Body Count, Amsterdamned Nov 06, 2020
Show notes Halloween may be over, but that doesn't mean we still can't party! We shake the post-Halloween blues this week with three very different flicks!
Up first, after getting busted for vandalizing the Hollywood sign, a young punk is forced to go work for his uncle's plumbing company, but he gets more than he bargained for when he realizes some of his uncle's clients are in the sexy jacuzzi business in Hollywood Hot Tubs from 1984.
Then, a couple groups of teens travel into the wilderness to party but soon start becoming the victims of a Native American shaman with an axe to grind in Body Count from 1986.
And finally, a Dutch cop is on the trail of a serial killer who is picking off victims from inside the city's unique system of canals in 1988's Amsterdamned.
All this plus US Election predictions, how we spent our Halloweens, Junk Mail from our grandpa, the origin of Sean's name, the deepest of deep fakes, blu-rays of old cartoons and so much more.

JFD540: Trick or Treats, The Midnight Hour, Weedjies: Halloweed Night Oct 30, 2020
Show notes With everything going downright batshit insane this year, we need Halloween now more than ever. Thankfully, we've all (mostly) survived long enough to enjoy at least one more round of dumb movies about Halloween parties, yeti wolfsmen, and pot-smoking goblins, and nothing is gonna stop us from doing just that. So, mash along with us and the monsters this week, if you please. It's the only podcast guaranteed to taste exactly like pumpkin pie, with half the calories!
Up first! Y'all remember that Trick or Treats (1982) movie? No, not the one with that cute little burlap-sack-faced guy Sam. Not, not the one with that cute little burlap-sack-faced guy Ozzy. This is the one with that Rock and Roll Vampire in it! (no, not Ozzy). Anyhow, I guess you probably don't remember it. We didn't either. But it's got Peter Jason in drag doing battle with a proto-HomeAlone-style prankster child and his babysitter on Halloween night. And a bevy of character actors you'll love! So hear us chat about it.
Next up! If you're an old, and you loved Halloween so much in 1985 that you tuned into ABC on November 1st hoping for the spookytime parties to continue, you must've been thrilled to see The Midnight Hour airing for your own, personal enjoyment. And if not, you'll love hearing us chat about this bizarre little movie (from Jack "Child's Play 3" Bender) in which all of the ghouls/goblins/yetismens of the afterlife invade the nowlife in a smalltown. With The Smiths on the soundtrack?!?!
Finally! It's a third movie! With goblins, a weed wolf, and semi-famous partygoer cameos! Of course, we're talking about the Goblin-themed Full Moon Halloween classic Weedjies: Halloweed Night (2019). It's a movie where some goblins or something fuck up a party, with marijuana. Come for the dank-ass goblins, stick around for the part where Kevin Moss says "lit A.F." and "totes fun" in his review!
All this plus Kevin's sinister cinema sins & drive-in insanities, a dissection of Joe Bob Brigg's natural cut-points, no fake bats, shillin' for Shudders, too many beds, what kinda Halloween donuts y'all eatin' in there?, Boratio Sanz, an exciting new breed of Goblins is discussed at length, Paul McCartney's extensive musical catalogue holdings, our weekly news plus blu-ray picks and even more!
