Put "Pub Story" in the show subject. Tell me about your story. Maybe I'll ask you to record your story for the show.

and also: "Was wondering if any of ur artists would consider publishing any short reels, jigs or solo pieces( own versions )as music scores(abc other) how they may write a score in ur show notes or such, just extracts... Ok if not my friend, just putting it oit there #,-)"

Juliette Ling emailed: "Hi Mark! I've written before, but I wanted to send another email to thank you again for all of your work with this podcast - it has been a significant source of comfort for my family and me over the last year.

In addition to the common challenges of the pandemic, my husband and I welcomed a baby boy into our home in December of 2019, and so we've been quarantined in our home for over 15 months now. The music in your podcast, along with your humor, insights, and positive energy have been such a bright light for us. Suffice it to say, there are many days when we are encouraged by your art - we've even begun a tradition of listening to your Don't Go Drinking with Hobbits album during the mornings of our annual Eat Like a Hobbit/Lord of the Rings marathon day!

And finally, some of your recent episodes have introduced us to the phenomenal work of Brad Tuck; his songs have become some of my son's favorites and are now often playing on repeat. I cannot thank you enough for giving us an opportunity to take a break from The Wheels on the Bus and Baby Shark!

Thank you again for all that you do! I've been a long time listener and look forward to enjoying your work for years to come! Warmly,"

I love to podcast. I love the long instrumental sets. Rollicking jigs and reels... in #505, Mary's Jib is my favorite.

Truth be told, after I listen, I take hte podcast into adobe Audition and carve it up so I can listen to the instrumentals without talk, since I write while listening and words from the music get in the way.

Please give us more of your all instrumental sets!

My only advice - change up your patter.

I have been listening since hte mid 300's and your opening patter has never changed. Give it a rest. I know your opening spiel by heart. Say something new. Something new for each opening. "

I wanted to write you for some reasons: I want to say hello :), to be thankful with you for your wonderful podcast and say I am proud of you! I hear you every day (I listen to your podcast when I go to work (I am a teacher and the school where I work is one 80 kilometres far). Believe me, I am a celtic music musician... here in the land of Flamenco music!

Yes! there are many celtic musicians here as well. I am a whistler and a bodhran player and have a band called Keltya too, three boys and a girl between 15 and 35 years old). We are not the only band in this city. My band knows new musicians and songs thanks to you and your podcast, your podcast is an excellent resource, we enjoy it a lot and you are almost our muse (he he, this is a joke). We invite you to visit us perhaps in our Irish Fleadh in Cáceres every October and of course, to know Cordoba and its impressive celtic culture fans. Thanks a lot for your music (which I use with my pupils) and your podcast. We also wanted to encourage you to speak at some point about Spanish celtic music and Spanish independent bands such as Ambulancia Irlandesa, Carrion Folk or Rivendell.Just dig a bit and you will find many surprises in Spain as well. Best wishes, your friend!"

I started listening to stay awake while feeding my now three-month-old late at night; my wife and I take shifts. As a linguist working with an indigenous group in Mexico, I really enjoy songs sung in the Celtic languages, and would love to hear more on the show! Thnaks for your work! Colin Gravenor emailed on Facebook: "Hi Marc, So great to have found your brilliant podcast. Now I have a little more time. It's just perfect. I'm listening in Wales, UK - where Celtic music has it's own very strong tradition. The Roots lie mainly in folk dance and the music distinctly Welsh! Please try listening to a great Welsh band Crasdant featuring a Triple Welsh harp. Many good tracks on their album Dwndwr (The great noise) but you could start with the gentle - "Pam". Keep up the good woork, it's the best antidote to these troubled times."

Keenan Joseph Roznowski emailed on Facebook: "Hi, Marc, I just wanted to let you know your podcast has been a cornerstone of my childhood, and it's just as superb as I remember it now that I'm coming back to it.

You've been such a wonderful guide through this world of music, and I'll always have a heart full of love for this show and your hard work.

I was homeschooled from 4th grade through the end of high school (I'm 24, soon to be 25 now), and your podcast was a constant companion through countless hours spent in my studies. I have the fondest memories of listening to the music you curated (as well as the Brobdingnagian Bards!) as I gazed out at our garden with countless dreams of warriors, wizards, pixies, and pirates dancing through my head.

It's only been recently I realized how criminally underrated you and the show have been, and I just want to say I supremely appreciate all your hard work in spite of this! In my opinion you deserve millions of fans, but the quality of the ones you have more than make up for it. I hope to show my future children this show one day.

Take care, and I wish you and yours the absolute best. Sláinte"

Jenni Trail emailed a photo on Facebook: "Hi Marc, I have been listening to this podcast for the past few years. I stopped listening for awhile when I was hooked on audiobooks but now I'm back!

This summer I am staying with my grandparents in Idaho as I have an internship at a history museum.

I've been listening to the podcast as I do work around the museum. I've attached a photo on some artifacts from the 1930s I cataloged for the museum.

I've been obsessed with Celtic culture and history for the past few years, I'm a history major and have taken many classes on British history and Scottish history. I've never been to Scotland, but I hope to go to Fife, the area my family is from.

Thank you so much for this podcast! I love listening to this music. Would you be willing to do a Celtic Punk episode? One of my favorite bands is a Celtic punk group called Flatfoot 56."

Alexander Randall 5th emailed: "Dear Marc, I am loving #500. I've been with you since around 300 and I think you are doing a great job of introducing me to wonderful bands and songs.

    More rollicking jigs and reels.

I work with words while I listen. So I love the instrumentals the most. Once upon a time you did an ALL INSTRUMENTAL show... Loved it.

Have you ever found David Clausen from a band called Celtic Stone. He is in Austin TX but does not respond to email."

Donna DeMilo emailed a photo: "Congratulations on your 500th Mark !! I LOVE CLOVER'S REVENGE!! Slainte!!"

Sean Malloy emailed: "Hi Marc, Thank you so much for buying our Band O'Brothers album from Bandcamp! I'm so pleased to imagine you listening to some of our songs after we've spent so many glad hours listening to yours!! I'm working on putting the promised song stories together for you - I'll send something your way within a couple days. Thanks again, and sláinte!!!! Sean"

Dillon Dise from Westfield, NY emailed a photo from 498: "I've been listening to the podcast for a couple years, but haven't yet emailed a picture of what I'm doing while listening, so here ya go. I prune vineyards through the winter in the rain, sun, wind and snow. This season I have already cut back over 6,000 individual vines. As the Celtic Spring comes on strong the smell of life is in the air, the snow is melting and the ice breaking up. At the top of the hill I look out onto Lake Erie, so the Sea Shanties episode was most appropriate in getting me excited to be back out on the water. Thanks for all the great tunes!"
