What is F You Money? Well in short it is Fuck You Money... The level of wealth that allows true financial independence. That moment when you have enough money in investments that are generating enough return for you to live on.... For the rest of your life! ...Even if you are in your 30's! If it sounds like a pipe dream, know that true financial independence and the ability to retire early is available to everyone... Including you. There is a new movement in the FIRE world (Financial independence Retire Early) where bloggers are documenting their path to achieving financial independence in their 30's, 40's and 50's. The best part? The 'process' to get there is actually incredibly simple... Especially if you can embrace a frugal lifestyle. It is all about frugal investing. Now, what follows is a very general overview of the concepts used by many people to retire early and achieve financial independence... This is not investment advice. I'm just someone who has been interested in and studying investing for several years and I'm just sharing some of the more interesting ideas I've found. That said, here is the investing strategy to achieve FU Money and financial independence fast. First, you learn to live on as little money per year as possible... This is the frugal part. Then, you invest the rest in a low cost index fund (Vanguard's VTSAX fund, for example and maybe some bonds to round out your asset allocation) and you simply don't touch it. An index fund is a collection of stocks... and the index fund mentioned above is literally every US based company that is publicly traded... So when you buy that index fund, you get a tiny piece of every publicly traded company out there... Some companies' stocks go up, some go down, new companies enter the index and some companies go bankrupt. Right now, there are over 3600 individual stocks in that fund, so what you get is a ton of security through the 'strength in numbers' philosophy. The only way you could ever lose all your money is if all companies (all 3600+ of them) ceased to exist?! And honestly, if that happens, we are dealing with some crazy catastrophic global event and this will be the least of our worries... For more about what an index fund is, check this out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Index_fund You see... people lose money in the stock market when they sell... And over long periods of time, the stock market always goes up. Your goal is to just ride that wave... And every month, add more to your portfolio. Some months you buy when the market is up... Some months you buy when the market is down... The average becomes the dollar cost average and gives you a nice balance of highs and lows... And your portfolio will continually grow. So you habituate the process of #1 living on as little as possible (while still earning as much as you can) and #2 investing the rest in low risk, low cost index funds... That's it! You stick with that long enough and reach the point where you have 25x your annual expenses sitting in your investment portfolio and according to the trinity study, you should be able to pull out 4% per year (this is how much you live off of now), every year for life. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity_study In fact, you may find that your portfolio grows while still delivering you a safe withdrawl rate and that, my friend is the power of compound interest.

The best blogging platform for an online business revealed... Is it Wix, Weekly, SquareSpace or WordPress? If you are looking at how to make money blogging or how to start a blog or simply wanting to grow your onlinebusiness, content marketing and blogging are a great way for you to grow your audience organically. One of the biggest challenges in blogging is outgrowing your platform and having to go through the process of migrating to a new system later on, when you have momentum going. This opens you up to all kinds of potential challenges and issues and potentially organic rankings loss if the migration is not handled properly. The best bet is to build your blog on a solid foundation from day one! Just like building a skyscraper... If the foundation is not stable, your skyscraper will eventually crumble... So, what is the best blogging platform for 2017 and beyond? Is it Wix? ...Weebly? ...SquareSpace? ...Wordpress? ...Another system? In my 10+ years of making money online, I have tried all of these platforms and more and have had some good experiences and some terrible experiences. This video will go over the best blogging platform for an online business and you will not only understand which blog platform is best, but you will also understand why. It is important to get a deeper understanding of these blogging platforms so you can understand what their goals are to see if their goals are in alignment with your goals. As a blogger, or even if you are researching how to start a blog you need a system that will work for you and not try to 'get' from you or 'upsell' you constantly.

The 4% Rule - Applying The 80/20 Rule To The 80/20 Rule. Jul 24, 2017

If you are familiar with the 80/20 rule, or the Pareto principle, and you don't know what your 4% is, you are missing the point. Everyone knows what the 80/20 rule is, but very few people understand how to maiximize this ratio to create the most positive output and benefit in their lives or businesses because the Pareto principle is incomplete. You see, if you apply the 80/20 rule to the 80/20 rule, you end up with two numbers. 4% (20% of 20%) and 64% (80% of 80%)... and these are the most important numbers in your business. Why? Because if you stay focused on doing the 4% of things that only you can do... You will create 64% of the effectiveness needed to be successful with your business. You then outsource the rest, or build systems and automation in order to maximize your output, keeping yourself focused on the most important tasks (your 4%). My wife and I are always asking ourselves and each other... "Is this your 4%?" ...Meaning. Is this something that ONLY you can do? So often we find ourselves doing things that any of our developers, designers or VA's can do, so we need to remind ourselves to do those things that only we can do. This is how we keep the first thing first and stay focused on the most important tasks at all times.

The Importance Of Having An Emergency Fund Jul 24, 2017

If you want to quit your job, be your own boss, travel the world, and be an internet entrepreneur… you NEED to be actively creating an emergency fund. But first - what's an emergency fund, and how much money should an emergency fund have? An emergency fund is a bank account you can't easily access that contains 3-6 months of your living expenses. So ideally this is in an account that takes a few days to transfer money to and from. You don't want to have checks, debit cards, or credit cards tied to this account so that you're not tempted to blow this money on something stupid. Why is an emergency fund important? Well, after building an emergency fund, you can feel safe knowing that your next few months of living expenses are paid - even if the worst happens. And trust me my friends - bad things DO happen to good people in this world, and you want to be prepared for that. For example, my dad worked at the same company for 30 years and he got fired right before his retirement benefits were going to kick in. Or you could get sick and not be able to work for a while, or get in an accident, or any number of things. Establishing an emergency fund makes you financially resilient and able to take a few hits and keep moving. And that's just talking about personal risk. Even if you're making money online in 2017, you have to realize - in the online world, things are constantly changing. You might wake up one day with your Facebook ads account shut down. Boom - there goes your lead generation for a month. Or you might get your Amazon account shut down - there goes an income stream. With all that being said - the main benefit of having an emergency fund is that it enables you to make better decisions that are based on the long-term rather than just hustling to get next month's rent money. That's the difference between the abundance mindset and the scarcity mindset. The abundance mindset stays focused on the long-term while the scarcity mindset is focused on the very short-term. The abundance mindset is also focused on giving without worrying about receiving. Trust me - that's a LOT easier to do when you already have financial abundance in your life. This abundance mindset enables you to make much more creative decisions, to have a lot more fun, and to really sit down and think: "how do I want to make a positive difference in this world?" As far as my tips and advice for building a personal emergency fund - I'll get into that more in another video, but for now, just remember that you have to pay yourself first. That means when you get a paycheck, you need to be taking at LEAST 5-10% and putting that amount into your emergency fund. Do that each and every paycheck, and you'll find yourself in a place of financial abundance sooner than you might think! In this video I reveal the passive income lie that is touted by so many fake gurus in the internet world... The truth, although it may not be the dream they are 'selling' you... Can liberate you! This message is for the people who truly want to start an online business and achieve financial freedom for themselves but you may be chasing the false dream, looking for passive income ideas. You see, I'm not here to sugarcoat things... There really aren't any ways to make passive income online. I'm here to give you the TRUTH of what actually works to build online income streams so that you can live the life of your dreams, work from home, or travel the world while working. So if I come across as a bit harsh… I want you to know it comes from a place of LOVE and RESPECT because I will never tell you some BS in order to make a quick buck. Let me break this down for you: completely passive income IS a thing… it's just way more rare than you think, and the product of A LOT of hard work and hustle... (A.K.A. Active Income) A quick story - recently, I was on a "digital nomad cruise" with a bunch of successful online entrepreneurs. And you know what I noticed first and foremost? These people are hustlers! They work their butts off because they are excited to make a ton of money by creating positive change in the world. A lot of the other people who are out there selling passive income fall into one of two categories: They've put in a metric ton of work in the past They are actually still working a lot now - they just might not call it "work", because they love what they do! And that's really the core of the message I want to get through to you today - don't focus on passive income. Instead, focus on making enjoyable, highly leveraged income while making the world a better place. Because keep in mind - there are a ton of retired folks who have "passive income" in the form of a Social Security check or a pension. And you know what? A lot of those people are bored out of their minds! I just want to give you the right mindset here: creating real wealth for yourself online takes a LOT of work. But that work FEELS way different than working in the "rat race." When you are stuck in the corporate world, you might feel trapped, overworked, and underappreciated. When you are working for yourself, it feels... exciting. Motivating. Freeing! And those feelings get addictive… to the point where you're working your ass off and LOVING it! And guess what? Once you make a fair bit of money, you can set up REAL passive income in the form of investments. Because there are a few ways to make passive income and the easiest way to make passive income is for people who are already generating massive income or who were born into wealth. Yes, those investments require a little bit of work to select the right ones in the first place - but after that, it's "set it and forget it". So, my final takeaways for you are:: What most people sell as passive income is complete BS. Those people are working for their money now, or they've put in a lot of work in the past. The real short to medium term goal? Creating enjoyable, highly leveraged income that makes the world a better place. Once you've crushed things and made some capital, you can experience real passive income in the form of investments. (Drops the mic)... I'm out!
