Failing Forward! How To Succeed And Fail Your Way To Success What if you learned today that you could fail your way to success? That would be a powerful mindset shift, right? It would make all of the mistakes you've made up until now seem like GOOD things - because in truth, they ARE. That's the kind of mindset that will lead you to financial freedom in the long run. What's your mindset, you might ask? Basically, your mindset is the sum of the attitudes, stories, and beliefs you have about the world… and one of the most important mindsets towards your eventual success or failure is how you THINK about success and failure. For example - do you view failure as a bad thing? Or a good thing? You might think that's a ridiculous question and say - "hey, of course failure is bad… I want to succeed!" Your mindset might be: "OK, I want to be successful. So that means I need to avoid doing "failure activities" and instead make sure I'm doing "success activities". Then you keep searching for the "right system" or the "right business model" or the "right niche" that's going to lead you to success… and you never leave research mode! I used to do the same thing - but that mindset didn't take me anywhere. It certainly didn't take me to my current levels of success. It required personal development and really looking at the psychology of success in order to shift my mindset to one that was empowering me to attract the results and lifestyle I desired. The mindset that WILL make you successful is one of failing forward, or failing your way to success. This more accurate and empowering mindset that you achieve by developing personally focuses on doing and execution rather than researching. And trust yourself that you'll learn A LOT more by trying and failing than you will by reading and researching and listening to podcasts. Why? Because there are different types of knowledge… and intellectual knowledge (knowledge you get from research) is just one kind. Another type of knowledge, experiential knowledge, comes from actually trying things in the real world and learning by doing. Often times this powerful knowledge comes from trial and error. And this type of knowledge is very powerful. If you can combine these two types of learning (with a heavy focus on the doing/experiential knowledge) you'll find that nothing can stop you on your journey to success. Just remember: when you fail, you learn. And when you learn, you get better. This is the secret to success! That's why Carlos Gracie, an incredibly successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, said: "There is no losing in jiu-jitsu. Either you win or you learn." There are a couple of key resources beyond this video that might be useful towards shifting your mindset towards, "I'm going to fail my way to success". One is the book "Mindset" by Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck. In it, she shows that everything in life is a skill, and when you have an open mindset about getting better (especially through doing), you CAN change your life for the better. Another is the book "Go For No". This one really helped me make the shift from being a researcher to being a doer. A final book that will be really useful for you is "The War of Art" by Steven Pressfield. This is an extremely powerful book that will change your life for the better if you apply the lessons within it. Like this video? How To Make A Good YouTube Video.... YouTube tips and tricks for great videos by Miles Beckler. In this video we look at the three most important YouTube components to a good YouTube video. If you're wanting more information on how to get YouTube traffic from video SEO, check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffkxuvFAE2k The set, you & your content, plus the gear. For an Amazon shopping list with all the gear I covered in the video, go here: http://milesbeckler.com/youtube-gear If you want to learn how to make your YouTube channel popular you will need to focus in on these small components that make up each video. Because, lets be honest... Anyone can pull out their cell phone and make a video... The catch is that 90% of people will be holding the camera in their hand, shaking all around, the audio will be terrible, picking up wind noises and all kinds of background noises... And there will probably be a messy bed, dirty laundry and all kinds of rubbish in the background of the video! No one wants to watch that crap!!! Even if the message is great! Seriously, I will only tolerate so much crap for a how to youtube video! We all grew up in a TV run world and we have come to expect a level of professionalism with videos. So it is important for you to take each YouTube video seriously and really work to make it a quality video that conveys your true authentic personality. My thoughts on YouTube marketing and for driving traffic should be clear by my actions... And if you want to see the results of a 90 video in 90 day YouTube marketing challenge, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0DaB7szm7o In video, surprisingly the audio and the lighting make all the difference in the world! ...As does practice! Ok, enjoy this video and want to share it with someone? What Are The Downsides Of A Lifestyle Business? Jul 21, 2017
    Show notes

I received a great question from a viewer... "Hey Miles, everyone talks about how great a lifestyle business is... Are there any downsides? If so, what are they?" Brilliant question, because indeed too many internet entrepreneurs are only showing the 'fun side' to the business in order to impress you and try to get you to join their 'system'. This creates a situation where the ads you may see are D-Bags saying "Hey, everyone keeps asking me to do a 'Cribs' style walk through of my beverly hills home..." Ya right!?! No one cares! Or the shots of the super-cars and blingin' watches... Which all too often are RENTED! Seriously... It is usually just a sham to try and get you to opt into their funnel by preying on your subconscious desire to live a lavish lifestyle that is perpetuated by TV. So, I felt like there needed to be an honest assessment of the downsides of an online business because there are some. And, to be perfectly honest, the upside potential still far outweighs the downsides, but it is important to have a balanced viewpoint. A traditional job has so many downsides... The alarm clock, the commute, the cubicle lifestyle, the inability to choose your co-workers, the nagging bosses and the permanent ceiling as to how much money you can make... The rat race is ugly and for me, I did everything I could and had to do, like giving up on going out with friends, working long hours into the night on my own gig after a long day at the real job and working weekends on my websites to make sure I could break free from the rat race.

The 3 Types Of Online Income Jul 21, 2017
    Show notes

I'm so tired of all the BS out there about making money online. Every coach and guru out there is trying to sell you on a dream - the idea that you can work a few hours a week, bust out the laptop on the beach, and spend the rest of your time chilling and drinking mojitos. Don't get me wrong - that dream IS possible. But what the internet marketers and gurus DON'T tell you is that it takes a massive amount of work and hustle to get to that point. I'll get more into the passive income myths in the next video, but for now I want to focus on the 3 ways you can start making money online in 2017, aka the types of online income. These online income streams can help you become a digital nomad, quit your full-time job, or just create a side hustle that will pay off your student loan debt. The 3 ways you can make money online are: 1. Passive 2. Residual 3. Active The first way that you can make money online is what's commonly called "passive income". This means that you make money while putting no work in. This IS possible… it's just way more rare than you think. I would argue that the only real way to build up truly passive income is to build a valuable business and then create people and processes that run that business for you. Another way you can have truly passive income is by the "traditional" passive income route - having a bunch of investments that pay you money on a regular basis. The second way you can make money online is residual income. This is what most people are actually doing when they tell you they are making passive income. Residual income means you put in work up front that you get paid for several times over. For example - let's say you create a great digital product around cat care and cleaning. Once you set up the website, funnels, traffic systems, product delivery systems, payment processing, and customer support… You will be making money off that product time and time again without putting much more work in. Another example of residual income is the membership site my wife and I run. We have created a bunch of content that continues to work for us, as people are constantly signing up for our membership site. So that content we created a year back or however long ago is continuing to pay dividends… which is awesome! However, at the same time - we are constantly creating new content for our membership program... So in reality, even our membership income is quite active still. So while we aren't making PASSIVE income, we are making HIGHLY LEVERAGED income… aka a lot of money from not that much work (after the initial burst of work of course). The third type of income you can make online is active income. This is basically being a freelancer. I feel like active income gets a bad rap, but I don't really understand why. Look - if you want to have time freedom and location independence, being a freelancer is probably the best way to get started. And guess what? If you get good enough as a freelancer, you can definitely work part-time hours and make full-time money. But again - the path to becoming good takes time. There are strategies you can use to optimize your effort, but there aren't any shortcuts here. PS Go hit "subscribe" up above if you haven't already - and keep your eyes peeled for my next video where I really break down the myths and realities of passive income.

The Power Of A Morning Ritual Jul 21, 2017
    Show notes

The most successful people in the world all have an empowering morning ritual. Kyle Cease and Hal Elrod both shared with me their philosophies for having a morning ritual to empower a great day at about the same time. The ideas sunk in and I began my own morning ritual that is an adaptation of both. Now, nearly six months since beginning the morning ritual I am finding that I am getting more done with less effort and enjoying myself more. If you have not begun your own morning ritual yet, I highly recommend it. If you want more information on this topic, check out Hal Elrod's book 'The Morning Miracle'
