Episode 365: Josette Norris – Headed to the World Championships in the 1500m Mar 07, 2022
    Show notes

Josette Norris is on the podcast today for a bonus episode! I have been doing Instagram live interviews with athletes after big races and I was able to have a conversation with Josette right after she qualified for the Indoor World Championships in the 1500m.

Josette is a returning guest, she was on episode 320 last summer. She came on right after she ran that 14:51 at The Track Meet. That was her first time running sub-15 in the 5k. She also ran at the Olympic Trials and placed 8th place. She kept racing after that and had some really successful races after the trials. She continues to prove that she is one of the top runners in the US and is ready to compete at the world stage.

This episode was pulled from an Instagram live that I did. I have recently done some really fun Instagram live interviews with guests including Molly Huddle, Sara Vaugh, Laura Thweatt, Emma Bates, Shalane Flanagan, and Courtney Frerichs. Molly Grabill recently ran a 2:29:17 at the California International Marathon where she placed 2nd. That was just her 3rd marathon. She ran the Grandma’s Marathon in 2019 in 2:35 and she ran the Olympic Trials in 2020 placing 25th in 2:37. Molly has been training in Boulder with the RISE Athletics. That is Nell Rojas and her dad’s training group. She trained with them for 8 weeks before CIM so we get to hear what her training looked like heading into this race. Molly also works full time for a Cyber Security company so she has a full plate on top of training really hard for marathons.

Molly ran for the University of Oregon in college where she was a 5-time All American. She took some time off in 2020 and came back and worked really hard to break 2:30 at CIM. That just speaks volumes to the thought that sometimes we need some rest to come back stronger!

Molly is really sweet and kind and I hope that you enjoy getting to know her in this episode of the podcast!
