    My good friend, Mary Johnson is on the podcast today!! Mary and I go way back when we became friends around 2013 and we have stayed friends and grown in our friendships over the years. It has been such a joy to see Mary grow and thrive in her coaching business, Lift, Run, Perform. She is all in when she does something, she cares so deeply about her business and giving everything she has to her athletes! She is also the mom of two and is an amazing mother.

    Recently, Mary ran CIM which was her first marathon in SEVEN years! Mary has been really open and honest about her injury battles and the major surgery that she had a little over a year ago. She ran a 3:08 in California which was a big deal. In this episode, she talks about her mindset for this race and how she kept it pressure-free and had fun with it. I LOVED hearing all about this!

    Mary also shares some great advice about strength training in this episode that you’ll all hopefully pull something from!

    Grayson Murphy is on the podcast today! She is a returning guest and was first on the podcast all the way back in May 2019 for episode 180!

    Back then, she was running with NAZ Elite and has made several changes in her career since then. She is a four-time US Champion and World Champion as a mountain runner. She is the CEO of Racin Grayson Training Logs. On top of her very successful mountain running career, she placed 6th at the US Olympic Trials in the Steeplechase in 2021.

    Episode 501: Tristin Van Ord – 2:25 in Chicago & training with ZAP Endurance Dec 01, 2023

    Today on the podcast, I am joined by Tristin Van Ord! Tristin runs with ZAP Endurance and she had a great race in Chicago! She ran a 2 minute PR for a 2:25. She was a part of the group that was running with Ben Bruce, Sara Vaughn, Dakotah Lindwurm, and Rose Harvey! It was so much fun to hear the recap of her race there!

    She is one of the cofounders of the Raleigh Distance Project which is a post-collegiate training group. Tristin went to Appalachian State and now works as a volunteer coach with them!

    Her first marathon was a 2:40 and now she has progressed to a 2:25! It was so much fun in this episode to hear all about that evolution of her running career!

    My good friend Ally Brettnacher is on the podcast today!

    I’ve known Ally since the early days as a young professional in Indianapolis. She is a huge part of the running community in Indianapolis and is on the board at the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon.

    Ally is the founder of Athlete Bouquets, which are unique gifts for runners that are filled with runner goodies. I loved hearing about her journey to starting that business in this episode!

    Episode 499: Molly Bookmyer – 2:30:37 at Toronto Marathon, Training with the Oiselle Underbird Project for the Olympic Trials Nov 17, 2023

    Molly Bookmyer is on the podcast today and I am so excited to share this episode!

    Molly recently set a PR at the Toronto Marathon where she ran 2:30:37 for 8th place and battled some really strong weather conditions that day. She shares in this episode that she felt fit and in better conditions was ready to run much faster! Molly has a 1:10:51 half marathon PR. She is training under the Oiselle Underbird Project with 4 other athletes for the Olympic Trials!

    Molly has a unique story in that she walked onto her college team and didn’t have crazy success as a college runner and has really blossomed as a post-collegiate runner. Part of her story is that she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had major surgery for that and then another surgery following that due to complications during college. Soon after getting married, her husband was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Has she been through it with her health journey or what!!? She shares all about that in this episode and also shares about her passion to still live fully even when things are hard! I LOVED hearing about this mindset and I just think that it’s a really beautiful way to live!

    Next up for Molly is the Olympic Trails in Orlando. She has so much ahead of her and I cannot wait to see what she accomplishes at the trials and beyond!! We’re rooting for you, Molly!!

    Andy Wheating is a two-time Olympian. He was in the Olympics in the 800m in 2008 and the 1500m in 2012. He ran for the University of Oregon and ran for the Oregon Track Club with Nike as a professional.     Episode 497: Sally McRae – Grand Slam of 200s Champion Nov 03, 2023

    Sally McRae is back on the podcast today! She was on episodes 145, 242, 328 and I had a live show with Sally in 2019 in Indianapolis. Sally recently became the Grand Slam Champion which is a title of all of these 200+ mile races: Big Foot, Moab, Cocadona, Tahoe. She recently won the Moab 240. I loved hearing about this, a year of racing 200+ mile races. Sally is also the 2021 Badwater 135 Champion. She is an author, she wrote the book Choose Strong and also has a podcast called Choose Strong. Sally also has a fitness app. She really does all of the things!

    Every time that I talk to Sally, she comes with so much great encouragement and advice. I hope you love this episode as much as I did!

    Dr. RuthAnn Lobos is a veterinarian who works for Purina and is a runner! She serves as the Senior veterinarian for Purina Pet Care. She lives in Boulder and spends her free time running marathons! She is also an avid triathlete. She has run Boston three times, completed more than 25 marathons, and has served as an official pace group leader for the Austin Marathon four times. She has completed three Half Ironmans. She has a love for running and animals and it was so much fun to hear all about that in this episode!

    Ben Bruce and Rose Harvey are on the podcast today for another post Chicago recap!

    Rose Harvey burst onto the professional running scene after starting to run during the pandemic in 2020 and discovered a hidden talent! She did not grow up a runner or compete in high school or college. She just ran a 2:23:21 and placed 9th at the Chicago Marathon. Previously she was working as a finance lawyer and now runs professionally for Puma. Rose is from the UK and also hosts half of the podcast 5 Miles Easy.

    Ben has been on the show before! He was a phenomenal pacer once again for the Chicago Marathon and paced a large group of women and men and Rose was one of those in the group! Ben is the dad of three young kids and his wife, Stephanie, just gave birth to their little girl! Ben is with Hoka NAZ Elite and now supports the team and paces the team in a lot of workouts!

    Episode 494: Sara Vaughn and Dakotah Lindwurm Recap their Chicago Marathon Experience Oct 20, 2023
    Show notes

    Dakotah Lindwurm and Sara Vaughn are on the podcast today! They both ran PRs at the Chicago Marathon and I loved hearing their recaps on this episode!

    Sara ran a 2:23:24 which was a 3 minute PR and placed 10th. Sara debuted the marathon in 2021, running a 2:26:53. Last year at Chicago she was 7th place and ran a 2:26:23. She is the mom of four and is a realtor. In this episode, she talks about taking risks this year in her training ahead of Chicago! Sara comes from a 1500m background. Sara has been on the podcast so many times – episodes 283, 302, 341, 416, 443.

    Dakotah smiles the entire marathon and it is so much fun to watch! She truly loves what she gets to do while performing. She was previously on episode 398 after she won the 2022 Grandma’s Marathon in a time of 2:25:01. This year in Chicago she ran a 2:24:40 which was a 35 second PR and 12th place overall.
