I'll Call You Right Back #90 - Kevin Drobish Oct 10, 2019

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Kevin Drobish. Kevin is the Distance Education Pathology Instructor at Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science (PIMS). Kevin grew up in Pittsburgh as a skate rat before moving away and working as a musician for some years. After a bad experience with a family member being poorly taken care after their passing, he decided to he wanted to start down the path to help the deceased. Kevin and I talk about skating, homemade salsa, the situation that led him to PIMS, working with the dead, different cases he's worked on, studying under for Cyril Wecht, and how he fell in love with what he does. Kevin has performed over 1300 autopsies and now he is an instructor a PIMS. You can tell how much he loves what he does. This was absolutely my favorite episode to date. Some might think working with dead people everyday would be so grim and morbid but I think Kevin offers a really great perspective about what he does. Enjoy the episode!

I'll Call You Right Back #89 - Bobby Cranmer Oct 03, 2019

Show notes

October is here which means we got a month long run of episodes that fit the creepy, weird, and "spooky" feel of Halloween and we are starting it with an insane episode. - This week, I sit down with Bobby Cranmer who is the little boy that is pictured on the cover of Amazon Best Seller 'The Demon of Brownsville Road.' - "The Cranmers seemed fated to own the house at 3406 Brownsville Road. As a young boy, Bob had been drawn to the property, and, just when the family decided to move back to Brentwood, it went up for sale. Without a second thought, they purchased the house that Bob had always dreamed of owning. But soon, the family began experiencing strange phenomena—objects moving on their own, ghostly footsteps, unsettling moaning sounds—that gradually increased in violence, escalating to physical assaults and, most disturbingly, bleeding walls. Bob, Lesa, and their four children were under attack from a malicious demon that was conjuring up terrifying manifestations to destroy their tight-knit household. They had two choices: leave or draw on their unwavering faith to exorcise the malicious fiend who haunted their home." (From the book) - This episode is the first hand account of what Bobby Cranmer Jr experienced living in that house on Brownsville Road. Regardless of what you believe in, this is an intense conversation that scared the shit out of me.

I'll Call You Right Back #88 - Khama Worthy Sep 26, 2019

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Khama 'The Deathstar' Worthy. Khama is a fighter from Pittsburgh who's been on the road to the UFC for a very long time. I spoke with Khama a while back for Episode 3 of ICYRB and during that episode we spoke about his childhood, how he got into mixed martial arts, his martial arts academy, and his dream of fighting in the UFC. That conversation was February 1st, 2018. No more than a year and a half later, Khama would get a call from the UFC to fight Devonte Smith for the preliminary main event on the biggest card of the year... on 5 days notice. Khama went on to finish his opponent in the 1st round by TKO and earn a performance of the night bonus. This is our conversation all about it! Enjoy it!

I'll Call You Right Back #87 - Baby Coco Sep 19, 2019

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Baby Coco. Coco is the originator of the #cocopose, the owner of Baby Coco Lash, and is currently fighting a war with Stage 3 Synovial Sarcoma. This woman right here is a fucking badass. I hit Coco up months ago about hearing her story and how she managed to stay as positive as she is during this fight. I didn't expect anything back because let's face it, who wants to talk about this terrible disease with someone they don't know at all, but Coco hit me back and said "Let's do it!" This entire episode is about her incredible battle with this shit, all while running her super successful Lash business Baby Coco Lash. I want you to listen to this episode and realize that tomorrow is not promised and that we have to live life to the fullest every single day. Listen to Coco's story and hear how she continues to kick Cancers ass. I'm so thankful she felt that she could trust me to help get her story out there for yinz. Don't enjoy this episode, be inspired to get off your ass and do what you want to do.

I'll Call You Right Back #86 - Dave Rapach Sep 12, 2019

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Dave Rapach who is the owner of Levity Float Studio. Levity is a space that provides a comfortable environment to get in touch with yourself in a much deeper way by "floating." Floating is such a loose term when I think about what my experience in a Sensory Deprivation Tank was. I've listened to people like Joe Rogan talk about the tanks for close to a decade and I've never got around to checking one out until last Saturday. This episode we talk about how he was introduced to the tank, what his experiences have been like over the years, the first time Dave had a session, the benefits of floating, how he created Levity, and my experience with my first float. If you've ever thought about floating now is you chance to hear about it!

I'll Call You Right Back #85 Pt. 2 - Mikey & Big Bob Sep 05, 2019

Show notes

This week, I had the honor of sitting down with two of the greatest people to ever grace the city of Pittsburgh. Mikey & Big Bob are two oddly shaped best friends that are the brains behind the 961 Kiss Morning Freakshow. Over the last 15 years, Mikey & Big Bob have brought so much laughter and joy to our city, in so many ways and I wanted to sit down with them and talk about where they came from. We talk about SO MANY great things in this episode, and I honestly could not be happier to give you this conversation. It truly meant so much to me to have the opportunity to sit down with these guys and hear about their lives. I know yinz are going to love this episode so much. Thank you for being patient with me this last week. Enjoy!

I'll Call You Right Back #84 - Chad Medved Aug 22, 2019

Show notes

Last week, I sat down with two of the greatest people to grace the city. Mikey & Big Bob were my "white whales" since I started this podcast and I finally made it happen. I seriously could not be happier with how this episode turned out. I'm trying to bring yinz some new content with this episode with the help of my friends Justin Boyd and Bryan Scagline so I wanted to push it one more week so I can make sure everything is right so...

This week is a short episode about how this all came to be and what's coming up next week. Thanks for being patient. I promise you this next one is going to be epic. Hammer out this episode and then dive back into one of the older ones you haven't heard yet. Enjoy

I'll Call You Right Back #83 - Cody Baker Aug 15, 2019

Show notes

This week, I sit down with Cody Baker to talk about all things Creatives Drink and how they came to be. A few weeks ago, Cody Baker organized a completely free music and art based show at Stage AE. There were signature drinks from different people around the city, great handmade pieces from other artists, and performances from some of the top people in the music scene in Pittsburgh. I went to CD10 and I was blown away with what Cody put together and I wanted to hear about all the ups and downs of planning it. Respect the hustle from one of the creatives in the city and enjoy the episode.
