    I'll Call You Right Back #81 - Anna Calabrese Aug 01, 2019
    Show notes

This week, I sit down with the super talented Anna Calabrese. Anna is a chef, artist, food stylist, potter, hot sauce maker, coffee lover, and retired emo kid. I wanted to sit down and talk with Anna because she is doing so much cool shit! She fell in love with cooking at a young age and she had her heart set on doing something with food. This whole episode we dive into what her experience was like in culinary school and all the different places she worked in the years after school. After I grill her about her work life in food, we talk about all the other things she's got going on. Anna always liked art and she had a stack of watercolors laying around and she decided to start selling them on etsy and it took off. She's racked up over 300 sales with all her awesome Calabazaaa Co characters she comes up with. On top of working her regular job as a food stylist and pumping out paintings, she also just started making her very own Bazaaa Sauce hot sauce so we talk about the process behind it all! I loved talking to Anna. I love seeing awesome people do so much cool shit the way they want to do it. I love her hot sauce and I have so many of her stickers and painting so you can say I'm a fan of her work. Go follow all her pages and check out all the awesome shit she comes up with. I know you'll love it! Enjoy!

    I'll Call You Right Back #80 - Travis Paul Jul 25, 2019
    Show notes

This weeks episode with Travis Paul of Paul Family Farms is probably my favorite conversation I've had to date. The Paul's have been in the maple syrup business since 1865. That is insane. We talk Maple Syrup, honey, porcupines, bee's, growing up in a small town, traveling, and so much more. This whole episode is great. Seriously such an awesome time talking to Travis about him and his family. I hope you enjoy the episode as much as I did. Thanks for listening.

    I'll Call You Right Back #79 - Chad Medved Jul 18, 2019
    Show notes

This episode I'm going solo to talk about the epic trip I just got back from. I flew to California this past weekend to witness a once in a lifetime experience with my friends. Four years ago, a band that we love called The Ghost Inside was driving through Texas when something tragic happened. In the middle of the night, an 18 wheeler crashed into them head on and changed their lives forever. Nobody knew if they'd ever play another show again. Their driver lost his life, their drummer lost his leg, and the rest of the band all had terrible injuries they had to come back from. Fans didn't know what was going to come of the band after all of this until a couple years went by and all of a sudden they changed their photo on socials and caught everyone's attention. The Ghost Inside was going to play one night only at The Shrine in LA and there was no way we would miss it! This whole episode I talk about my trip to California, the shitty plane rides to and from, all the great food, spending too much on Fairfax Ave, going to check out a Violent Gentlemen warehouse sale, and how incredible seeing them come back really was. - I enjoyed my time there. Enjoy hearing about it!

    I'll Call You Right Back #78 - Adam Ehrlichman Jul 11, 2019
    Show notes

This week, I sit down with Adam Ehrlichman. Adam has been the 'cheese guy' at Penn Mac for 14 years! Working with cheese for that long... How crazy is that?! Most of us think of cheese as just a great snack or a great addition to a good meal but for Adam, cheese is his living. We talk about everything I can think of when it comes to cheese. I'm a big fan of the stuff myself so I was excited to learn more about cheese. There's so many different kinds and each one has a story and reasons behind it and Adam is the guy to learn from. This is another great episode and I hope yinz learn a thing or two about one of the best things ever... cheese.

    I'll Call You Right Back #77 - Chad Townsend Jul 04, 2019
    Show notes

This week, I sit down with Chad Townsend, who is the owner of Millie's Homemade Ice Cream. Millie's opened about 5 years ago and has been taking over the ice cream game ever since. I talk with Chad about where he came from and how the hell someone just decides to start making ice cream for a living. Chad started cooking when he was a kid, like most of us. He quickly decided that cooking was something he wanted to do for the rest of his life, so he went to culinary school. He wanted to cook great food. Ice cream didn't come into the picture for some years after but, here we are now. Millie's is planting itself into the main vein of Pittsburgh Culture. Starting off with a single ice cream maker and a tapped out wife's credit card, he had some work to do. Listen to how Chad made all this shit happen and how he turned a small operation into numerous locations in sought after areas of the city and distribution deals with local establishments like Giant Eagle and more. This episode was definitely awesome. I emailed Chad a year ago and I was finally able to make this happen so it was exciting to hear his story.

    I'll Call You Right Back #76 Pt. 2 - Joel Carter Jun 27, 2019
    Show notes

BBGuns "Help Yourself" available June 28th! - This week I sit down with Joel Carter who is the other 1/2 of Pittsburgh based duo, BBGuns. Joel is an awesome dude who has crazy skill. Him and JP Pitt work so well together. I was so curious to know where his musical background came from and how he got into this crazy sound. We talk about what life was like growing up, what he did for fun, Boy Scouts, starting out in rap, what his first shows were like, and what makes him who he is today. The episodes this week were so fuckin awesome. I loved speaking with both of them and I genuinely love their music they put out. Their new album is dropping so soon so check out these conversations and learn about BBGuns.

    I'll Call You Right Back #76 Pt. 1 - JP Pitt Jun 25, 2019
    Show notes

THIS IS A SPECIAL 2 EPISODE WEEK! - TUESDAY I sit down with JP Pitt who is 1/2 of Pittsburgh based duo, BBGuns. JP Pitt is a dude from the New Kensington area that has been making the most unique music I've heard in a really long time. I honestly don't think you can place a genre on BBGuns. When I first heard their music I immediately thought of the intensity of Run the Jewels and the experimental side of The White Stripes. I know that's a weird combo but that's kind of the best way I've came up with to describe them. JP and I talk about what life was like for him growing up as a kid, the craziness he dealt with in the early years of his life, how football consumed his whole life for the most part, and where music came into play. When you listen to BBGuns you can hear JP singing a lot but then you hear him come in with a crazy verse. I wanted to know where this bizarre sound came from and where his love of music started. We get into so much awesome shit in this episode and I found out JP and I had a lot in common so this episode flowed so well. Excited to drop this one and yinz will be too.

    I'll Call You Right Back #75 - Greg Pasquarella Jun 20, 2019
    Show notes

I've loved skateboarding since I was in 3rd grade. Over the years I've made friends through loving skateboarding that I still am friends with to this day. Although I haven't stepped on a board in years, it'll always be close to my heart. Friday is Go Skate Day so I thought it would only be right to speak with one of the OG's. - This week, I sat down with Greg Pasquarella to talk about the complete history of OneUp Skateshop. OneUp Skateshop is an iconic fixture in the Pittsburgh skateboard scene. They opened in their West Mifflin location in 2003 and have been pushing ever since. Greg and I talk about how he got into skating, what the scene was like growing up, what skaters he looked up to, how he got introduced to OneUp, and how he eventually became the soul owner for the next decade. This whole episode tells the story of OneUp's history and all the bullshit they had to deal with along the way. We talk about the Nike Dunk Days and how crazy that time was, what it's like to see young shredders grow into pros, how he met Brandon McConnell, and how after 15+ years OneUp is still standing strong and doing dope shit for the skateboard community. - Brandon McConnell is the other Co Owner of One Up. I spoke with Brandon on episode 55 and we talked about how OneUp is doing today and what it's like running a shop in this online world so after you check out how OneUp began, be sure to check out EP 55 to hear about what it's like today. Thanks so much for listening!

    I'll Call You Right Back #74 - Steve Turner Jun 13, 2019
    Show notes

When you think of Pittsburgh, a few things immediately pop into my mind. I think of Primanti Bros, Heinz, Mikey & Bigbob, Mac Miller, and Turner's Premium Tea. These are a few staples that our city has decided on over the years. When you hear these names, the heart of the city of Pittsburgh beats a little faster and my guest this week is one that will always hold a place in mine. - This week, I had the honor of speaking with Steve Turner of the legendary Turner Dairy Farms. Steve Turner took me for a tour of Turner Dairy this weekend and it was incredible. I got see where and how all the #Yinzerfuel was made. We talk about how and when Turner Dairy was started, what it was like growing up as a member of the Turner family, the process behind the time and care that goes into making all of Turner Dairy products, the Famous Turners Premium Tea, and so much more. This episode is a big deal for me. Growing up Turner Iced Tea was in my fridge on the regular. We talk about what it's like to be part of a company that is loved by so many in our city. Everywhere you look you see love for Turner's and it was a pleasure to have Steve on to talk about it. I'm so excited to drop this episode and I know yinz are too. Enjoy this one!

    I'll Call You Right Back #73 - Justin Boyd Jun 06, 2019
    Show notes

This week, I sat down with my good friend Justin Boyd. Justin is a great photographer who specializes in candid style and concert photography. I talk with Justin about his progression with photography over the years and how he began his journey. Justin first started out taking photos of his friends that were in bands and quickly made a name for himself in the city of Pittsburgh. We talk about how he went from shooting random friends to linking up with and becoming Mac Miller's photographer for the last 6 or 7 years. Justin had the opportunity to travel the world and experience some dope shit and he shares some stories with me about what it was like to be a touring photographer. It is with great sadness that we lost such a pivotal and impactful artist in Mac Miller this year. I felt strange asking Justin about Mac because I didn't want it seem like I was exploiting their friendship. I'm just thankful for Justin's stories and hearing about having the opportunity to work with an incredible artist that has meant so much to a lot of us. I enjoyed this episode very much. Rest Easy, Mac Miller. 🖤
