    Hustle Sanely

If you constantly feel spread too thin, your mind is always running through what needs to get done next, and you’re running on fumes by the time you get to the people you love…you’re in the right place!

Welcome to Hustle Sanely — a podcast about slowing down, letting go of the pressure to do it all, and making more room for what matters most. We’re breaking up with hustle culture and building peacefully productive lives so we can pursue our goals without sacrificing our well-being.

I’m Jess Massey, a recovering workaholic who spent most of my 20s neglecting rest, hobbies, friendships, and other important parts of life in the name of achieving my goals. Hustle culture told me that was the way to succeed, and it eventually left me burned out with a life that looked good on paper but left me feeling unfulfilled (and rly, rly exhausted, lol).

What started as my own journey out of burnout became a calling to help women steward their time and energy well, build routines that reflect their actual priorities, and create a life that feels as good as it looks.

    Around here, we talk about:

🕊️ Peaceful productivity + intentional living: Practical tips for planning your time, honoring your capacity, creating sustainable routines, and making progress without running yourself into the ground

🧸 Mindful motherhood: Honest conversations about motherhood, family rhythms, being present, and creating a home life that reflects what matters most to you

📖 Books, life, and whatever else is on my mind: Because personal growth doesn’t have to be so serious and I always want to leave room for good conversations, curiosity, and the occasional tangent

New episodes air every other Tuesday, so grab your coffee, settle in, and let’s figure out how to build a life that supports the things we actually care about.

    Show notes

Hustle culture is all around us — we are constantly being primed to believe that we need to do more, work harder, and push ourselves to the max. But is living like that actually serving us? (spoiler alert: no, it’s not, lol). Burnout is on the rise and I don’t know about you, but I’m OVER IT. Today on the show, I’m chatting with a faith-based fitness coach about how we can heal from hustle culture.
Jessica Hottle is a faith-based fitness coach, podcast host, best-selling author, and speaker with a heart for teaching women how to dismantle the lies that keep them from healing and wholeness. She is the author of four books with her new book being titled Face Off with Your Feelings: Break Up with the Lies From Your Past and Embrace the Truth for Your Future. Jessica is the host of What’s The Truth, a show where she challenges the way her listeners think so they can change the way they live. Her writing has been featured by she works His way, Cross Training Couture, and Revelation Wellness. When she isn’t writing, speaking, or coaching you can find her enjoying time with her husband Jon, being a momma to their three cats, and spending her free time outside whenever she can (playing golf, hiking, reading, or writing in her journal).

Tune in to this episode to learn exactly what hustle culture is, how it’s harming you, and what you can do to heal from it.

121: How to Find a Therapist – Sharing My Therapy Experience Mar 15, 2022
    Show notes

As I’m sure you gathered from the title, we’re gonna be talking about therapy today. I'm getting personal in this episode and sharing with you what my personal experience going to therapy has been like. I'm diving into:
⋒ My family history with therapy
⋒ My therapy journey as an adult
    ⋒ Your questions about therapy

It honestly blows me away how many DMs I get on Instagram from people seeking advice on therapy. I didn’t realize there were so many people who felt a little bit lost when it comes to starting a therapy journey and while I’m no mental health professional, I’m more than happy to share my experience if it helps people to kind of find their way in getting the support they need for their mental health.
Tune into this episode to hear your questions about therapy answered!

120: 5 Habits to Help with Anxiety Mar 08, 2022
    Show notes

I'm not a mental health professional but I was recently diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder by my therapist so I've been thinking a lot about how anxiety shows up in my life and what habits I do on a regular basis to help keep it at bay.

When you think about physical hygiene, you probably think about things like showering, brushing your teeth, and doing your skincare routine. We do these habits every day to keep our physical hygiene healthy. We don’t wait until we are covered in grime and our teeth are rotting out before we start taking care of these things…it’s all about maintenance.
This is exactly how I view the habits I’m going to share with you today. They are habits you can practice in your everyday life to help keep anxiety from getting way out of control.
Tune into this episode to hear 5 habits that help ease anxiety so you can live your most peacefully productive life!

Raise your hand if you end up re-writing the same never-ending to-do list every single day because the tasks just never seem to get done 🥴

Before Hustle Sanely, I remember having one giant life to-do list and I would roll pretty much every task over to tomorrow every single day so I was constantly left feeling defeated, behind, and burned out. Every morning, I would wake up, grab my planner, and rewrite the same to-do list from the day before. It was a neverending cycle.
It's really overwhelming to feel like you always have a long AF to-do list to tackle and like you're always behind in life. Well as your productivity BFF, I'm here to tell you that it doesn't have to be this way. It's time for you to ditch that long AF to-do list once and for all and start getting stuff done that aligns with your goals.

Tune into this episode to hear 3 reasons why you're not finishing your to-do list and what you can do about each one!
