    Hustle Sanely

If you constantly feel spread too thin, your mind is always running through what needs to get done next, and you’re running on fumes by the time you get to the people you love…you’re in the right place!

Welcome to Hustle Sanely — a podcast about slowing down, letting go of the pressure to do it all, and making more room for what matters most. We’re breaking up with hustle culture and building peacefully productive lives so we can pursue our goals without sacrificing our well-being.

I’m Jess Massey, a recovering workaholic who spent most of my 20s neglecting rest, hobbies, friendships, and other important parts of life in the name of achieving my goals. Hustle culture told me that was the way to succeed, and it eventually left me burned out with a life that looked good on paper but left me feeling unfulfilled (and rly, rly exhausted, lol).

What started as my own journey out of burnout became a calling to help women steward their time and energy well, build routines that reflect their actual priorities, and create a life that feels as good as it looks.

    Around here, we talk about:

🕊️ Peaceful productivity + intentional living: Practical tips for planning your time, honoring your capacity, creating sustainable routines, and making progress without running yourself into the ground

🧸 Mindful motherhood: Honest conversations about motherhood, family rhythms, being present, and creating a home life that reflects what matters most to you

📖 Books, life, and whatever else is on my mind: Because personal growth doesn’t have to be so serious and I always want to leave room for good conversations, curiosity, and the occasional tangent

New episodes air every other Tuesday, so grab your coffee, settle in, and let’s figure out how to build a life that supports the things we actually care about.

235: How I Plan My Life and Business a Year in Advance Jul 16, 2024
    Show notes

A few weeks ago, I was on Instagram stories flipping through my planner for the rest of 2024, showing that I had the rest of the year planned out for work…as in, I know exactly what projects I am working on every week for the rest of 2024.
To me, that doesn’t sound wild – I’ve been wired like this my whole life… planning ahead brings me comfort and peace. But I got SO many messages from you guys on that story asking me how the heck I plan out so far in advance – and you know how we do around here. You ask a question enough times and 9 times out of 10, I make it into a podcast episode, lol.
Tune into this week's episode to learn:
~ How to get into the mindset of intentionally planning ahead
~ 3 ways I create margin in my schedule (& life)

234: All of My Current Routines (literally all of them, lol) Jul 09, 2024
    Show notes

As you know (or at least I hope you know), I’m a big believer that our schedules and routines are tools, not chains. They are meant to make our lives easier – not stress us out. I love routines because they save me so much brain power and help me be more present in my life.
I also know that the Hustle Sanely Squad loves a concrete example SO in this episode, I am sharing every one of my current routines. Not so that you can "copy-paste" them, but so they can inspire you to create your own!

Tune into this episode to learn:
~ How I think about routines and the mindset to have when creating them

~ My exact yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly & daily routines right now

    Show notes

Can I be honest? I used to dread going on trips 😅 I felt like the prep was so overwhelming. And because I was overwhelmed, I would kind of wing it each time and because I was winging it and didn't have a system in place... it felt exhausting to start from scratch for every trip. A double-edged sword, ya know?

But in this episode, I am sharing the system I now have for trip prep!

Tune into this episode to learn:
~ What kind of timeline is helpful when prepping for a trip

~ 10 steps to prep for a trip without stressing out

~ What you can do to not only prep for the trip but things you can do that will make coming home feel good, too

232: How to Keep Your Home Organized When You’re Busy Jun 25, 2024

Back in March, I did an episode on my home cleaning routine – I am SHOOK over how many times that episode has been listened to and how many people have downloaded the Hustle Sanely Home Cleaning Routine template that goes along with it!

That tells me that y’all are here for the home-related content sooo I’m bringing professional organizer and owner of Aligned Organizing, Amelia, on the show today so she can walk us through how to keep our homes organized when we’re in a full season of life.

~ Common roadblocks that keep our homes from staying organized and what we can do about them

231: How to Decide What’s Important Right Now Jun 18, 2024
    Show notes

When life happens, it's important that we not only acknowledge where we are at and pivot if necessary, but also honor the season we are currently in.
To me, honoring your season means aligning your priorities and routines with what’s happening in your life. Many people forget that routines and priorities are not “set ‘em and forget ‘em” things.
Tune into this episode to learn:
    ~
What it means and looks like to identify and honor the season you are in

Summer is here and the urge to slow down and go with the flow is real. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Honestly, I think we should lean into those feelings as we plan out our summers.
In this episode, I am sharing 4 steps to plan your "lazy days" of summer (ps: you're actually not lazy but... we will get into that in the episode) and how you can weave habits of rest, fun, and work into your days during these warm weather months! 🎧
