As a leader in ministry, you likely work under a good amount of stress and pressure. And not only are you owning the tasks at hand, but you are carrying a spiritual and emotional weight that is unique to your job. So how do you manage your own anxiety when having to deal with people? How does your reactivity reveal what's going on deep inside of you? What's the difference between caring for something and carrying something that isn't ours to carry?
There are so many practical tools that you will walk away with after listening to this conversation! One tool that Lisa gave was asking three questions:
    1. What is mine to carry?
    2. What is someone else's to carry?
    3. What is God's to carry?
For questions or feedback, reach out to us at girls.ministry@lifeway.com.
Lisa Cuss is a Licensed Professional Counselor and runs her own private practice as well as works with coaching and vision alongside her husband within Capable Life. Lisa is trauma informed and is most passionate about helping people journey through deep pain and find connection with God amidst wounded experiences and unhealthy beliefs. Most of her work is done individually through regular sessions as well Soul Care Intensives. At the top of Lisa’s Life Giving list is time talking and laughing with her husband, Steve, their 2 adult sons, and their teen daughter. She also delights in sharing time with with dear friends on a walk with mountain views, or over a cup of coffee and a warm chocolate chip cookie.

You made it through the crazy summer. You might have snuck in a vacation or found yourself on a beach for at least for a few days. But fall is here! You're now getting to embrace all of the packed schedules, weekly programs, and lack of rest. It's so easy to "push through" and wait for that next weekend off, but don't let yourself keep going without first asking, "How am I actually doing?"
Aunt P is back to help us talk about how to take a pulse on our spiritual, mental, and emotional wellbeing. We don't want you to keep yourself so busy that you end up running yourself into the ground. So, how do you know if you're actually okay? Well, we hope you'll listen to this conversation and find out practical ways to answer that question.
If you haven't listened to our first Aunt P episode in Season 1, go back to it! It's episode 9 title "How to Seek and Refer Counseling." This is a resource to have in your back pocket not just for your teens, but for yourself.

The hope is that you'll be challenged to not just grow in how you teach but how you get ready to teach.
If you're on ministry staff, you're likely planning your training schedule for this next year! There are two events that we'd encourage you to mark your calendars for:

It's time for another crossover episode with one of our favorite Lifeway podcasts — The Glass House with Ben and Lynley Mandrell! If you don't remember, Ben and Lynley were our first guests on the His Glory, Her Good podcast. To say we are big fans of them and their hearts would be an understatement.
On today's show Nicole Zasowski describes to us what happens when we are operating in our pain cycle, how we can regulate our emotions, and why the simplest of questions can push us over the edge. A very important topic to address while in ministry!
Nicole is a marriage and family therapist, along with being a full time mom and wife. Actually, one of our most popular episodes is when we featured Nicole's book, What If It's Wonderful, so we have a feeling you are going to love this conversation!
