Welcome back to Season 3 of His Glory, Her Good!
What do you do when a table of girls are staring back at you with blank faces? How do you transition from a silly conversation to an intentional one without being awkward? What does an invitation and response time look like for your student ministry?
It may feel minor, but becoming a good question asker can transform the way you answer those questions AND the way you lead in student ministry. When you are intentional with what questions you ask and how you ask them, you are creating a safe space for authenticity and vulnerability to cultivate.
We can't wait to hear what you think about this episode!

Why does rest often feel like an idea that seems just out of reach? We know God commands us to rest, but what does that actually look like when ministry and life feel all-consuming at times?
In our final episode of Season 2, you'll hear how we've struggled to know how to rest and the lies that have kept us from resting. Yet through this conversation, we'll recall the gift and joy found in resting in who God is and His completed work.

Whether dealing with our own shame or helping teen girls fight shame in their lives, this is a topic that can't be avoided when leading in student ministry. In this episode with Aunt P, we talk about how to know the difference between shame and conviction from the Holy Spirit. She also shares the danger of not dealing with our own shame, as well as provides tools to help our girls recognize, talk about, and fight shame.

Our two favorite people in the world are on the podcast today! That's right, you get to meet our husbands on today's episode as we share what marriage in ministry has looked like for us up to this point!
It is a ton of fun and so beautiful to do ministry alongside your spouse. But it also can be messy and painful. We hope you will be encouraged as you hear our stories about how God has grown and refined us through marriage in ministry. There is still so much for us to learn, but we are incredibly grateful for where God has brought us.

    16. Singleness in Ministry with Delaney Degelow Feb 05, 2024
    Show notes

Nothing says student ministry in February like a relationship series!
In a recent poll of girls ministers, over 60% responded as single (not engaged or married). But as two married gals hosting this podcast, we knew we aren't the experts to talk about being single in ministry. So we invited a dear friend and minister, Delaney Degelow, to share the good, bad, and often weird parts of being single in ministry.
We talk work boundaries, dating in ministry, and what people should NOT say to singles on church staff. It's such a fun, honest conversation and we learned a ton! So whether you're single or married, make sure to tune in before our next episode on marriage in ministry.
Delaney serves as the High School Ministry Associate at New Vision Baptist Church, and she has had the privilege of working in ministry since 2015. She thrives with high schoolers because she believes the word “yeet” is still cool and loves any opportunity to hang with the coolest people at New Vision. Delaney has a heart for fostering healthy, Christ-centered community — and desires for students to feel a part of something that is bigger than themselves. This 98% extroverted, Enneagram 3w2, loud and proud girl is forever thankful for the opportunity to love and lead high schoolers!

15.Partners in Ministry - Meet our Bosses! Jan 29, 2024
    Show notes

If you work in student ministry, it’s likely you work with the guys on your team. You may love it or have your struggles, depending on your team dynamic or current ministry season. Either way, we want to invite you (and those guys on your team) to listen in on this conversation where we talk about being partners in ministry with our BOSSES!

It is such an encouraging and refreshing conversation from guys who lead the women well on their team (yet haven’t always gotten it right), as well as challenging us to view our relationships with our co-workers as a partnership for the kingdom. Oh, and make sure to listen to their answers for our final question. It might be our favorite ending to an episode yet!
Ben Trueblood (Amanda’s boss) serves as the Executive Director of Church Ministries at Lifeway, and Sheph Leonard (Corinne’s boss) serves as a Student Pastor at Long Hollow Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
We’d love to invite you and your team to join us at Youth Pastor Summit happening at FIVE different locations around the U.S. this Spring! We hope to see you there!
Please email us your questions and feedback at girls.ministry@lifeway.com.

Discipleship is not a new topic around here, nor is it likely something new to you. But let’s take some time to evaluate what discipleship looks like for us today, where we want to go, and how we equip our leaders to join in on the journey. Our hope is this conversation will encourage you in whatever season you find yourself, as well as remind you of the importance of being discipled yourself.

    12. Good News for Our Bodies with Caroline Saunders Jan 08, 2024
    Show notes

New Year, new you!? Wait, is that right?
Many of us have bought the lie that struggles with body image and self-esteem are just teen girl issues. Yet in the New Year, we come face-to-face with the reality that our bodies never quite feel good enough. We'd like to be thinner, prettier, and just better, please. But phew, that feels exhausting even as grown women. So where's the good news? What hope does the gospel offer us? How do we show our girls this hope?
Oh man, we loved this conversation with our friend and Lifeway Girls author, Caroline Saunders. And we know you will too!
**We recorded this episode LIVE at Lifeway Women's Leadership Forum.
Resource Highlight: Caroline has a brand new Bible study coming out this year with Lifeway Women and Lifeway Girls called Come Home. Check out the Bible study for women at Lifeway.com/comehome.
