You know the drill—one text says, “Pray for my math test,” and the next is a tearful call about a family falling apart. Sometimes the prayer request list keeps growing with no end in sight. In this episode, we’re talking about how to care deeply without carrying every burden like it’s ours alone. Let’s laugh a little, sigh a lot, and lean into the God who’s actually in charge of it all.

We are grateful to have prayer warrior, teen girl leader, and Corinne's MOM(!) here with us today. Jill Olund is someone everyone needs to know, because spoiler alert: she's someone we can all learn so much from.

Being in ministry can make prayer feel like another obligation, but let's not forget that it's the Creator of the universe who simply wants to talk to us!

One of the best parts of finding community among women in youth ministry is the feeling that you're not alone! (and you're not crazy either...) Sometimes the lives we live seem too comical to be real, so why not be in good company, laugh together, and enjoy stories told by other women in ministry.

We might just have the best, craziest, greatest jobs on the planet!

If we are going to be women who prioritize real, authentic relationships, we have to be willing to have honest conversations with those close to us.

In this episode, we’ll talk about who should be in your close circle, how to move beyond surface-level conversations, and what it looks like to truly validate and support friends in tough seasons. Most importantly, we’ll challenge ourselves to be vulnerable enough to answer, “How are you?” with honesty.

If you’re ready to grow deeper in your relationships, let's get started!

Here's your homework from this episode: check on your people! Find a friend to reach out to and connect with them in a real, authentic way.

    55. Grief as Leaders Feb 24, 2025
    Show notes

Every human will encounter the sudden heartache of grief brought on by loss or suffering. Ministry leaders are not immune to grief, but rather, we often have a front row seat to those who are walking through tragedy and deep loss. How do we grieve well? Not just for ourselves but those that we are ministering to. How do we continue to lead well even when the waves of grief keep coming?

Aunt P joins us today as we navigate these questions and more on grieving as leaders.

    54. Celebration Over Comparison Feb 17, 2025

"Our ministry isn't as big as theirs." "My students trust her more than me." "Why can't I get it right like her?"

Comparison can steal so much joy from our calling. And yet there is abundant joy when we can find ways to celebrate the work the Lord is doing in our brothers and sisters and ministries and local churches. Let's be women who cheer on and champion those around us!

    52. Habits in the New Year Jan 06, 2025
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Instead of asking what goals you have for the New Year, we want to ask the question "What holy habits are you setting for this year?" Instead of seeking to accomplish something, we want you to seek and know the presence of God this year. Whether that is studying your Bible more, memorizing Scripture, or another way to deepen your faith, let's begin today to create habits that lead our hearts to loving and experiencing God more.
This conversation with authors of our new Lifeway Girls study, Dwell on These Things, is one of our favorites of all time. Natalie Abbott and Vera Schmitz are two sisters who founded Dwell Differently, and they are passionate about your and your teen girl(s) love for God's Word.
