How Police Connected D4vd's Pool To Celeste's Remains Jul 27, 2026
    Show notes

Day 3 of d4vd's preliminary hearing revealed the physical evidence linking his garage to Celeste Rivas Hernandez's body — fragments of a blue inflatable pool, cut with a sharp object, found on the fourteen-year-old's leggings months after she disappeared from Lake Elsinore.

LAPD trace analyst Lisa LaHendro, with over two decades of experience, testified about the pool's "scalloped and straight" cuts and the recovered fragments. Criminalist Samantha Tosch confirmed that DNA from Burke's Tesla and Hollywood Hills rental matched Celeste. Lauren Wallace described cleaned blood throughout the garage where prosecutors allege the dismemberment occurred.

The defense got its moments. Blair Berk established that two small chainsaws tested negative for blood and their handles were never swabbed for DNA. She confirmed multiple people lived in the residence. The strategy is clear — someone else had access. But the prosecution countered with Detective Roecker's cell tower testimony placing Burke's Tesla and phone on the road to Santa Barbara County the night Celeste allegedly died, with two return trips in May. Her passport card was found along that same Highway 154 corridor. He charged his EV in Santa Ynez.

Also in the garage: jugs of fake blood. The defense says music videos — Burke's alter ego Itami traffics in dark imagery, and "Romantic Homicide" has over a billion Spotify plays. The prosecution says look at the real blood cleaned from the surfaces in the same room.

Burke has pleaded not guilty. The bindover ruling could come any day. Celeste was fourteen. Her remains were found the day after what would have been her fifteenth birthday.

Why Lindsay Clancy's Whiteboard Message Haunts This Case Jul 27, 2026
    Show notes

After her children died, Lindsay Clancy was in a hospital bed with a tube down her throat. She could not speak. She was given an erasable whiteboard. The first thing she wrote on that whiteboard was a question. It is one of the most contested moments in this entire case.

Her jury is seated. Eighteen people in Plymouth Superior Court will have to decide whether a mother who was on thirteen psychiatric medications was criminally responsible when she killed her three children. Both sides stipulate that she did it. The fight is over whether she was sane.

The prosecution argues premeditation. She used Apple Maps to calculate how long her husband would be gone. She allegedly strangled all three children during that window and then attempted to take her own life by jumping from a second-story window.

The defense argues systemic failure. Thirteen medications in four months. Zoloft, Prozac, Klonopin, Seroquel, Valium, Ambien. Her husband Patrick told the doctors she had turned into a zombie. No one coordinated care.

Patrick Clancy is expected to testify first for the prosecution. He filed a malpractice suit against her doctors. He told a reporter he was not married to a monster. Under Massachusetts law, the prosecution must prove she was sane beyond a reasonable doubt.

Andrea Yates was convicted, then acquitted at retrial, under a Texas standard that required the defense to prove insanity. Massachusetts flips the burden. The prosecution has to prove Lindsay Clancy was sane beyond a reasonable doubt. That is a higher bar to clear, and the medical record is not going to make it easier.

Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer breaks down the whiteboard question, the risk in calling Patrick Clancy as the prosecution's first witness, the Andrea Yates parallel, and what this prosecution needs to survive its burden.

Did Lindsay Clancy's Trial Fail Before It Even Started?! Jul 27, 2026
    Show notes

Both sides agree Lindsay Clancy killed her three children. Both sides agree she used exercise bands. Both sides agree it happened while Patrick Clancy was out picking up dinner. None of that is in dispute. What eighteen jurors have to decide is whether she understood what she was doing — and whether the medical system that was supposed to be treating her had already failed before she ever picked up those bands. The prosecution has a digital trail: Apple Maps calculations, internet searches, and journal entries they say prove deliberate premeditation. The defense has a medical record: thirteen medications over four months, a McLean Hospital admission, reported hallucinations, and a lawsuit against the providers who allegedly let her deteriorate. Both sides are presenting real evidence. They are just asking different questions about the same set of facts.Tony lays out every piece of the board going into openings. The prosecution's premeditation theory. The defense's postpartum psychosis argument. The bifurcation motion that was denied. Why Patrick Clancy sits on both witness lists. And why this trial was built around a question that eighteen people — who started picking sides the moment they heard three children died — may never agree on.

Did Three FBI Sources Contradict Each Other On Nancy Guthrie?! Jul 27, 2026
    Show notes

Same day. Same evidence. Three FBI sources. Three completely different answers about whether the ransom notes in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping are real.

Reuters reported every note is fabricated. The Phoenix field office said some may carry legitimacy. TMZ's sources said the original two notes are more credible than not. The single most important piece of evidence in this case drew three incompatible readings from inside the agency running the investigation.

Nancy Guthrie has been missing from her home in Tucson for close to six months. No suspect publicly identified. No arrest made. Former FBI agent Steve Moore told Brian Entin's audience that the case is cold and that new agents will eventually be rotated in.

Derrick Callella pleaded guilty to impersonating a kidnapper and contacting the family directly while the real investigation was still active. He was not the only one exploiting the situation. TMZ separately received a dozen emails from a different individual demanding Bitcoin.

The investigation has had to devote enormous resources to separating real evidence from manufactured interference. The question of how much time and personnel were consumed by people running cons on a missing woman's family is one that nobody in an official capacity has been willing to address.

If the FBI has results from the genetic genealogy testing that started five months ago, they have not shared them. If they do not have results after five months on a DNA sample in an active kidnapping, that raises questions about what this investigation is actually producing.

Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer has been among the most prominent voices questioning the investigation. She posted a ten-point public challenge to investigators asking why the enhanced porch image has never been released, why Nancy's face appears on the billboards instead of the suspect's, and whether investigators already know who porch guy is.

Why Investigators Kept Nolan Wells' Throat Jul 27, 2026
    Show notes

During the first autopsy on eighteen-year-old Nolan Wells, the state of Mississippi retained specific structures from his throat. The trachea. The hyoid bone. The laryngeal cartilage. When the family's independent pathologist later reviewed the case, he noted that this kind of retention is standard when there are concerns about compression injuries.

Nolan went to a July Fourth boat party on Horn Island with a group of friends. He was the only one who did not come home. Two days later, a park ranger found his body at the island's northwest tip. He was the only Black member of the group.

The independent autopsy returned a finding of undetermined cause and manner of death. The pathologist could not rule out that non-accidental factors contributed to or caused the death. The official state autopsy has still not been released. Nineteen days after retaining the throat structures, the state has said nothing about what those tissues revealed.

The DA referred the case to a grand jury. Ben Crump announced the independent findings at the NAACP National Convention. The national board passed a resolution calling for transparency.

Whether the public accounts given by the people who were on that island hold up under oath is the next question. A grand jury can compel testimony that no media interview can. And the phones belonging to everyone in that group will produce a digital record of every message sent, every call placed, every search made, and every deletion attempted.

Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer breaks down what the throat retention signals about where investigators think this case is heading, what the grand jury's subpoena power changes, what the phone evidence will show, and how long an investigation of this scope takes before it reaches a grand jury.

Why Is Lindsay Clancy The Only One Who Answers For This? Jul 27, 2026
    Show notes

Lindsay Clancy is suing her doctors. Her husband is suing her doctors. If a civil jury agrees the treatment caused what happened, those providers write a check. Lindsay is still the only one who answers for it in a criminal courtroom.
She's charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan, at their Duxbury, Massachusetts home on January 24, 2023. She's pleading not guilty by reason of insanity. She's a former labor and delivery nurse who says she begged the medical system for help for weeks and was handed a stack of prescriptions instead. Prosecutors say roughly three months before the killings, she typed something about her older children into her phone, a note read aloud in court. She's permanently paralyzed after going out a second-story window the night her children died.
Criminal defense trial attorney Bob Motta, host of Defense Diaries, joins Tony Brueski to argue out what the state is actually chasing here. What does a life sentence accomplish for a woman who will carry this for the rest of her life either way? Whether a jury can understand that a person can be completely detached from reality and still function well enough to send a text message is the question underneath everything else. If she's found not criminally responsible, she doesn't go free. Massachusetts sends her to a locked state psychiatric hospital with periodic reviews, and she's already been in state custody since 2023.
Jury selection began July 20 in Plymouth Superior Court. Three children never got a say in any of this. Almost nobody is arguing about them.

Why Are Nolan Wells' Friends Suddenly In Danger? Jul 26, 2026
    Show notes

Two autopsies. A hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars in reward money. Still no arrest. That's where the Nolan Wells case stands, and the gap between what's been proven and what's being treated as fact online keeps growing. The independent autopsy, paid for by the family and performed by Dr. Roger Mitchell, came back undetermined. No fractures. No deep tissue injuries. No lacerations. Just discoloration on the back of Nolan's skull that answers one question and leaves the more important one wide open.
The state completed its own examination on July 7th. It hasn't been released. What has been released is the reward pool, backed by Al Sharpton, Tyler Perry, and Terrell Owens, and a wave of online attention that's landed on the friends who were with Nolan on Horn Island. They're receiving threats now. A chancery judge, stepmother to one of them, has confirmed it publicly. AI-generated images and videos already proven false are still circulating as though they settle the matter.
The independent autopsy results were unveiled at the NAACP National Convention in Chicago instead of anywhere near the actual investigation. Defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis breaks down what the science actually supports, what's being assumed instead, and what accountability looks like for the people spreading unproven claims if this ends without a single criminal charge. He also addresses the specific legal exposure for anyone circulating fabricated images as fact, and what a chancery judge going public about threats against her own family says about how far this has already traveled. Tony lays out the full picture, forensic and financial, so the audience can see exactly where the certainty online actually comes from and where it runs out.

Will Lindsay Clancy Take The Stand In Her Own Trial? Jul 26, 2026
    Show notes

Nobody in Plymouth Superior Court knows yet if Lindsay Clancy is going to take the stand in her own defense, and it might be the single biggest decision left in this trial.
Lindsay is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan, at their Duxbury, Massachusetts home in January 2023. She's pleading not guilty by reason of insanity. She checked herself into a psychiatric hospital on New Year's Eve after telling her husband she was having thoughts of hurting her children. She was discharged. Nineteen days later, the children were dead. Her attorney puts her medication count at roughly thirteen psychiatric drugs across about four months, with a dose increase and a sleepless night the day before it happened.
Jury selection began July 20, opening with prosecutors moving to challenge the defense's experts, the third motion in eleven days aimed at limiting who speaks for Lindsay. Prosecutors had already dropped all three strangulation charges on July 9, and on July 13 the judge blocked women who've survived postpartum psychosis from testifying about it in their own words.
Criminal defense attorney Bob Motta, host of Defense Diaries, joins Tony Brueski to break down whether a jury can hold two ideas at once: that someone can plan something and still be nowhere near reality, and how the Massachusetts burden of proof in insanity cases shapes the prosecution's strategy. They dig into what Patrick Clancy testifying, suing his wife's doctors, and asking the public to forgive her actually does to a jury's read of this case.
Three children are dead. This trial is about a system that had every warning and did nothing with it.

Why Josh Duggar Dragged His Sisters Into Court Jul 26, 2026
    Show notes

A federal inmate built a hidden operating system just to make his wife's monitoring software think everything was fine. That's not speculation, that's testimony jurors heard at Josh Duggar's trial: two years of accountability software telling him no, and him quietly engineering the no away. Now that same man has filed a 2025 motion from behind bars, and his own sisters are named in it. Why he dragged them into a federal court filing is the question driving this episode. It comes on top of a pattern the Bureau of Prisons won't explain: four facility transfers across three states, and no public reason given. His lawyer says it's retaliation for a complaint about opened legal mail. Maybe. But his release date has moved three times since sentencing, always later, never earlier. What started as August 2032 now reads February 2, 2033, and that trajectory says more than any court filing about how his time inside is actually going. The Duggar name is carrying weight in a second courtroom too. Joseph Duggar, thirty-one, is charged with two felonies in Florida tied to what happened to a child during a 2020 family trip. He's pleaded not guilty. The affidavit says he admitted what happened to the child's father directly, then again to detectives while the call was being recorded. His parents paid to get him out. The people who brought it to police weren't strangers. They were his in-laws, the Caldwells, a family that chose accountability over silence, which is exactly what the Duggars have spent two decades avoiding. What that choice actually cost the Caldwells is where we're headed, and it's worse than most people expect from doing the right thing.

What Lindsay Clancy's Doctors Did After Her Husband's Warning Jul 26, 2026
    Show notes

Patrick Clancy told his wife's doctors she was becoming someone he didn't recognize. Lindsay Clancy was on Seroquel, he said, and it was making her ten thousand times worse. The providers treating her didn't pull back. They raised the dose. Weeks later, she killed their three children in their Duxbury, Massachusetts home. She is now standing trial in Plymouth, and neither side disputes what happened that day — only whether she was criminally responsible for it. On this episode, Tony Brueski sits down with psychotherapist Shavaun Scott, author of Night Bird, to trace the full arc of Lindsay Clancy's care before the trial now playing out in Plymouth. Providers had allegedly documented intrusive thoughts around the same period Lindsay was describing a male voice commanding her to hurt her children — two very different clinical pictures that got treated as interchangeable. A forensic evaluation after the deaths finally produced a diagnosis, Bipolar I, that her treatment team had considered but never confirmed while it could still change the outcome. In four months, she was put on thirteen medications — benzodiazepines, antidepressants, an antipsychotic, a sedative — with almost no coordination between the five providers involved. She called a suicide hotline and was turned away for lacking a specific plan. She waited three days inside McLean Hospital before a doctor saw her. Shavaun lays out what a family member's warning is supposed to trigger inside a treatment team, why it so often doesn't, and what a seventeen-minute appointment can and cannot catch in a patient this far into crisis. She also weighs in on where the line falls between a missed diagnosis and a system that was never built to catch one.
