What Celeste Told D4vd Days Before Her Procedure Jul 29, 2026
    Show notes

Days before a procedure, a pregnant Celeste Rivas Hernandez texted d4vd something no thirteen-year-old should ever have to say to an adult, and at the July 24 session of the preliminary hearing, the court heard every word of it. This breakdown takes the full session in order, and the January texts sit at the center of it. The medical examiner, Dr. Grant Ho, testified that Celeste died of two sharp-force wounds to the upper body and had been dead at least weeks before discovery, and he told the court plainly what decomposition took off the table. The prosecution's closer, Detective Corey Farell, then connected the devices. Messages beginning in August 2022, when Celeste was eleven. Messages running through April 23, 2025, the day prosecutors allege David Anthony Burke killed her. And the January 2024 texts indicating a thirteen-year-old was pregnant and being asked when she would get it done. Nearly fifty images investigators call illegal material involving a minor were described to the courtroom one by one, never displayed, while her mother wept and her father stared at the floor. The defense worked the other side of every exhibit, pressing on what was never tested, what was never collected, and what the science cannot say, because that is the case they will bring to a jury if Judge Charlaine Olmedo orders a trial. Burke has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent. The name in red ink is part of the record either way, and this session is the reason the rest of this case will be argued around it. The full picture, from the autopsy findings to the final text, is right here.

Did Anyone Read The File On D4vd Or The Siders? Jul 29, 2026
    Show notes

Both of these files existed on paper long before anybody called them cases. A marriage record out of 2008. A deputy's report out of 2024. Different states, different decades, and in both of them an official name went on the line and nothing happened next.

The full live discussion — d4vd evidence, David Burke's backstory, and the Siders 16 kids case with retired FBI special agent Robin Dreeke.

In Los Angeles, days of preliminary hearing testimony have built a picture of a rented Hollywood Hills garage. Presumptive reactions on the floor mats and the bricks beneath them, on a rowing machine, on a tarp, on a trash bag with wipes inside it. An inflatable pool that looked clean and smelled like laundry, glowing in one place. Plastic fragments recovered during the autopsy fitted into the cuts in that pool like puzzle pieces. Defense attorney Blair Berk hammering everything investigators never swabbed or collected.

Tony and Robin do not recap it. They argue it, item by item, from the defense side of the table.

Then they go back to the beginning of David Burke — homeschooled, isolated, online, signed at seventeen, and the creator of an alter ego named Itami who commits murders in his own music videos.

Then Robin Dreeke comes in for Ohio. Sixteen children out of one house in Hamden. A room roughly twelve feet by twelve. An attorney general saying that waiting longer very likely meant a death or multiple deaths. Four adults, sixteen counts each, four not guilty pleas, and a defense attorney arguing this is poverty and isolation rather than evil.

Two cases. One question underneath both of them.

Burke has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen. Come argue about it live.

Did Nolan Wells' 911 Call Pick Up A Voice Nobody Noticed?! Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

The Nolan Wells 911 call gets the full live treatment — Tony plays every second of the uncut emergency audio in real time, with the chat weighing in on the most disputed few seconds of tape in this entire case.

The setup is simple. On July 4th, around 4 p.m., a teenager on a boat at the west tip of Horn Island called for help: the bilge pump had failed, the boat was taking on water. The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources released the complete recording, hold music and all. Nolan Wells — last reported seen on the island about an hour before the call — was not aboard, and he was found in the water near the island two days later.

The live question is what else the recording captured. Listeners have pulled apart the background commotion and split into camps. One camp swears a muffled female voice can be heard asking something no one on a routine tow call should be asking. The other camp has replayed the same audio and says the voice is not there — that people are hearing what the case has primed them to hear. Both camps are listening to the identical file.

So the stream does it the honest way: full playback, no edits, pausing on the contested seconds as many times as the chat wants. Alongside it, the verified beats — the plug-pulling instructions shouted to a second boat, the fumbled membership questions, the seven-person headcount, the 4:31 departure — get laid against the timeline of Nolan's final documented hour.

One tape. Two camps. Come listen with us and pick a side in real time.

Did Ohio Get To The Siders Kids Just In Time? Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

Live conversation on the Siders case with Robin Dreeke, the retired FBI special agent who ran the Bureau's Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program.

Here is the line that started it. Ohio's attorney general described what he had seen inside the Hamden home where sixteen children were found. If law enforcement had waited a certain amount of time longer, he said, there was a very high probability of a death or multiple deaths.

Deputies were not even looking for children when they arrived. The warrant came out of an unrelated investigation.

Sixteen kids, from eighteen months old to eighteen years old, came out of that house. The sheriff said they had been kept for most of four years in a room measuring roughly twelve feet by twelve feet and said most of the livestock in his county lived better. The attorney general called it pure evil and said the children looked like almost feral animals.

Four adults, each charged with sixteen counts of endangering children. Four not guilty pleas.

Now hold the other side. Elizabeth Siders was fifteen and seven months pregnant when a judge and both sets of parents approved her marriage in 2008. Her attorney says the case is about poverty and isolation, not evil, and that evil requires malice. Seventeen years later she is charged alongside the people who signed for her.

Dreeke and Tony argue through all of it, including how a town of roughly seven hundred people, plus relatives who say they visited, could miss what was in that room.

Bring your take. This one gets debated live.

Who Called Lindsay Clancy's Injuries Minor?! Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

Lindsay Clancy comes to court in a wheelchair, accompanied by nurses from Tewksbury State Hospital. She has a burst fracture of her C1 vertebra, a shattered thoracic and cervical spine, and every rib broken. The word the prosecution’s opening statement used for part of her injuries was superficial.

The state’s case needs her to be a liar three times. She faked being sick. She staged the attempt. She invented the hallucinations after her lawyer coached her. Kevin Reddington’s defense opening at Plymouth Superior Court went after all three, and this session wraps four clips from it.

On the withholding charge: Reddington said she disclosed, and the prosecution’s own first witness confirmed it under oath. Patrick Clancy testified she told him about intrusive thoughts and suicidal ideation months before the children died. On the staging charge: Reddington put photographs and a fracture list in front of the jury. A Jefferson fracture takes headfirst impact. On the coaching charge: a hospital staffer heard the voices before any defense lawyer was in the room.

Also inside: the full prescription chart read name by name to the jury, the bipolar diagnosis that came after instead of during, and the DNR she signed — refusing to be brought back — which makes faking any of it structurally impossible.

Did Anyone Around D4vd Ever Ask Celeste's Age? Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

Strip out the forensics for one segment. Prosecutors allege Burke connected with Celeste online, through gaming, while he was still in high school in Texas. Deputies would eventually stand in front of him and tell him her age out loud. The machine around him never blinked.

Live conversation about the part of the d4vd case that has nothing to do with forensics. Tony and Robin go all the way back to the beginning — before the charges, before the streams, before anybody outside a gaming lobby knew the name.

A homeschooled kid. Gospel music only until thirteen. An entire social world that existed on a screen. A mother who told him to quit complaining about copyright strikes and make something of his own. A record deal at seventeen while he was still in high school.

And then the alter ego. Burke named him Itami, which means pain, and described him publicly as an agent of chaos — an evil version of himself who commits the murders that Burke's detective character then has to solve. He compared it to Fight Club without anyone prompting him.

He filmed the character holding a bloody knife. He animated the character taking a woman's arm. He released a video in which he drags a body and puts it into a car.

Now hold the other side of it, because it is a real argument. Artists make violent work constantly. It proves nothing on its own. Nobody is a killer because they wrote a song.

Except prosecutors allege this man did what the character did.

So the live question is where dark art ends and something else begins, and whether an industry that valued this young man in the millions and sold his darkness as a brand owns any piece of what came next.

Burke has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen. Come argue about it.

Nobody Saw Lindsay Clancy For HOW LONG?! Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

Lindsay Clancy did the thing everyone says you are supposed to do. She admitted herself to a psychiatric hospital and asked for help. The malpractice complaint filed against her providers says what she got instead: three days without a doctor, a five-day discharge, and no indication to anyone that she was a danger.

This session wraps four clips from ADA Shanan Buckingham’s opening statement at Plymouth Superior Court and pressure-tests every argument in it. The clock theory and why the state made a takeout order and a fourteen-second phone call the spine of its case. What the clinical research documents about postpartum psychosis and whether a person in psychosis can plan, text, and keep time. The 1967 decision that governs criminal responsibility in Massachusetts and the reason a juror who believes every word the prosecution says may still be legally required to acquit.

Then the medical record. The thirteen prescriptions across five providers. The bipolar diagnosis that came after instead of during. The hospital self-admission. The last appointment the day before, where the note quotes her as desperate for something that would work. And one line from the prosecutor about how much access to care Lindsay Clancy had, which landed very differently than she intended.

Did D4vd Really Call Celeste's Phone That Night? Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

One call at 12:04 in the morning. That is the piece of this hearing that will not leave people alone. A detective testified that Burke's phone, sitting in a desolate part of Santa Barbara County, dialed Celeste Rivas Hernandez's number hours after prosecutors say she was killed.

Live breakdown of the d4vd preliminary hearing evidence, and Tony and Robin are not doing a recap. They are handing every single item the state put in front of a Los Angeles judge to the defense and asking how it gets explained.

Start with the garage. An LAPD criminalist testified Bluestar reacted strongly on the rubber mats covering the floor, then on the bricks underneath, then on a rowing machine, a tarp, a charging cord, and a trash bag with wipes inside it. She examined a blue inflatable pool that showed nothing visible, smelled almost like laundry, and had a dryer sheet stuck to it — and one area of it still glowed.

Now add what was sitting out in the open in the same space, tested and documented as negative.

There is an explanation on the table for that. Whether it survives being in the same room as everything else is the whole conversation.

Blair Berk's cross has been surgical and it has been about absence. Handles never swabbed for touch DNA, a third saw left in a closet, footwear impressions on the pool that were never lifted and never compared to any shoes. Every defense lawyer builds doubt out of what nobody did. The question is whether this time it is real.

Cell records and Tesla data placed a phone and a car traveling together from that house to a remote stretch of Santa Barbara County on three separate occasions, according to testimony.

Burke has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing. Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen. Pull up a chair for this one.

Why The Judge In Kouri Richins' Case Stepped Aside Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

Could Kouri Richins actually get a new trial? Her attorneys filed a fourteen-page motion claiming she was denied a fair proceeding — and the judge who sentenced her to life without parole has already stepped aside from ruling on it. A different judge will decide what happens next.

Tony Brueski breaks down every argument in the filing. The defense says Judge Mrazik showed favoritism to prosecutors throughout the trial. They say financial crimes evidence — bounced checks, false bank statements, sloppy accounting — went far beyond what the court's pretrial guardrails allowed. And they cite the South Carolina Supreme Court's reversal of Alex Murdaugh's murder conviction as the precedent that should save Kouri Richins.

The episode dismantles that comparison. The Murdaugh ruling required proven jury tampering by a court clerk — conduct the justices called "breathtaking and disgraceful." Kouri's motion has no jury tampering allegation, no rogue court officer, no juror affidavits. Different state, different facts, different legal standard.

The deeper question is what the motion reveals about who Kouri Richins is. After Eric died, she wrote a grief book. After the verdict, she texted an admirer a revenge checklist. After sentencing, she filed this motion. The episode tracks the pattern, delivers the full admirer text, covers the courtroom footage from sentencing day, and walks through the twenty-six additional financial felonies still pending in a separate case. Eric's sons wrote statements asking the court to keep them safe. They used her first name.

Why Wells, Guthrie And Clancy Still Don't Have Answers Jul 28, 2026
    Show notes

Nolan Wells. Nancy Guthrie. Lindsay Clancy. Three cases. Three families. Three systems that have not delivered what was needed.

Nolan Wells went to a boat party on Horn Island over the Fourth of July and was the only one who did not return. The state retained his throat during the first autopsy. The independent autopsy came back undetermined. A grand jury has been referred. Nineteen days after the state kept those structures, no findings have been released.

Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her Tucson home nearly six months ago. Three different FBI sources gave three irreconcilable answers about the ransom notes on the same day in July. A former FBI agent publicly declared the case cold. DNA went to a genetic genealogy lab in February. Five months of silence.

Lindsay Clancy's trial is underway. Eighteen jurors seated. Both sides stipulate she killed her three children. She was on thirteen medications in four months. Her husband told the doctors she had turned into a zombie. After the children died, she was intubated, unable to speak, and wrote one question on a whiteboard. Nobody can agree on what it means.

The grand jury has subpoena power. The FBI's genetic genealogy lab has had DNA for five months. The medical system prescribed thirteen drugs in four months and now the state wants to prove the patient was sane. Every one of these institutions had one responsibility. Not one of them delivered.

The phones belonging to everyone on that island will produce a digital record no one can rewrite. The genetic genealogy lab has had DNA from Nancy's home since February and has shared nothing. The medical records in Massachusetts will show a system that prescribed thirteen drugs, ignored the husband, and now expects a jury to call the patient sane. The pattern across all three cases is the same. The institutions failed, and now the families are the ones carrying the burden.

Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer examines all three cases, what connects the institutional failures, what the grand jury and the FBI investigation and the trial should produce, and what happens next in each one.
