185 - What does practicing “enough” look like? Nov 16, 2023
    Show notes

After about 5 minutes of research, we realized we *thought* we’d recorded a podcast episode on the idea of practicing “enough,” but alas, we had not done that. We’ve talked about it here and there in a few other eps, but we wanted to have an entire conversation about enough because it’s been so impactful for us.

We’re going to walk you through our MMM Number and Enough Number exercises. We’ll talk about what an Enough Mindset can do to help you make day-to-day decisions. And, we’ll go through the mental exercises we’ve done to fight our urges to want more while still striving for growth and goals that evolve as our lives evolve.

Hope you enjoy this episode and we’ll be back in early 2024 with… maybe… a new show name and podcast art?? MAYBE!

    181 - 30-day content challenge stats + lessons learned Oct 19, 2023
    Show notes

The Calm Business Encyclopedia project reached its finish line and we’re equal parts excited and exhausted 😂. As with any big, DAILY, content project, the repetitive nature of it can wear you down. While we are a bit worn down, we’re also stoked to have a great resource out into the world to help online business owners (and our own biz!)

We go through the nitty-gritty of how many views our 26 videos have gotten so far, the 21% YouTube surprise, how many people converted from our quiz lead magnet, our website stats, AND the number of direct new conversions to our WAIM Unlimited program. This project wasn’t about the initial stats, but they are fun to share.

Lastly, we go through some final takeaways, some FEEEELINGS, things we would’ve changed, and future steps we want to take. You get all of those in this ep!

    180 - Simplifying your business Oct 12, 2023
    Show notes

This week, we wanted to record an episode about simplifying your business, but also share how we look at a topic that might become one of our coaching sessions or a bigger article/video.

If you like hearing how the proverbial sausage is made then you are going to LOVE this one! We walk through how we take an idea and concept and break it down, answer our own questions, and create frameworks that we can teach.

We hope you learn something that you can apply to whatever skill you teach people AND some business simplification tips! Also, maybe a few walrus bucks or muffin hair laughs??

    179 - What're we doing with coaching in 2024? Oct 05, 2023
    Show notes

We have this phrase around the WAIM office (aka our living room) that’s the “Straddling Strategist.” It’s the idea that so many people are straddling between two ideas or two businesses and can’t quite go all-in on either.

This week, we share a pretty big update as it’s the future of our focus in our work!

We sat down last week and had a 3-hour brainstorming meeting that resulted in coming to a decision about our monthly coaching plans for WAIM Unlimited (our un-boring coaching program) AND our small side business Teachery (an online course platform).

In this ep, we share all the conversations we had and how we’re embracing feeling like JCVD straddling those semi trucks! We’re excited about “Project ALL-IN” in 2024 and hope you’re excited to go along on the ride with us.

    Show notes

Last week, we announced one of our biggest content projects to date, the Calm Business Encyclopedia: 26 YouTube videos and articles that are an A-Z guide to helping you build a more predictable, profitable, and peaceful business.

This week, we wanted to reflect on a few of the biggest takeaways we learned while taking on this monster of a project. Things like acceptance of how we work, the importance of extra project time, finding your motivators, and ignoring what other people are doing!

We hope this episode is helpful and gives you some useful insights for whatever you’re working on next.

    177 - Introducing…Calm Business Encyclopedia! Sep 21, 2023
    Show notes

After 5 weeks of hard work, we’re excited to announce our big content project! While it might not look like much in the first few days as we’re releasing content daily, after 26 days it will be a rich library (heyo!) of information to help you build a more predictable, profitable, and peaceful business.

In this episode, we talk about getting to the first finish line of the Calm Business Encyclopedia. But, that first checkered flag is only one of many and we still have a ways to go.

How have our emotions changed throughout this project? And what are we hoping this project does for us? We talk about these things and much more!

    Show notes

PHEW! We made it out of the “video mud” we were stuck in last week and we have a solid plan of action moving forward for recording 26 YouTube videos.

In this episode, we talk about finally getting into a groove, the power of doing something YOUR way (not following a blueprint), how to get a jolt of momentum in a big project, and why you can feel creative restlessness when you’ve been running your business for a few years.

Tune in to future episodes for updates and on September 18, our 26 days 😉 of content will start being published!
