    Show notes

    Today’s Topic: Creation

We are all creators. As soon as we are put on this earth, we are meant to be creating. This is in contrast to a desire to acquire more. We have a negative perception of chasing more and more and more without ever being satisfied. The key difference is that we need to learn to be happy where we are at right now AND we need to have audacious goals. Both are possible, both are necessary, and we’re going to show you how to enjoy the journey.

    In This Conversation We Cover:

    • [07:45] Reading “Ask and It Is Given”
    • [09:07] Creation versus acquisition
    • [11:39] Feeling inspiration and taking action
    • [13:31] Making sure you can enjoy the journey
    • [20:21] The contrast between what you want and what’s in front of you
    • [28:28] Life is a mural, paint it.

Today’s Topic: Finding joy, loving where you’re at, and surrendering control

The world is slowly starting to open back up. As it does, we have three lessons we’ve learned over this quarantine that we want to continue to carry forward and share with all of you. Those lessons are the importance of finding joy in everyday things, loving where you’re at (but still wanting more), and stop trying to control everything.

David Bayer is an expert in mindset and business strategy, with Success Magazine calling him “the leading expert on the next evolution in mindset,” and I can see why. He has a very different approach to personal development, with a particular balance of hustle, fulfillment, and spirituality. This episode taught me how to step back and realize that things are aligning for me just the way they are supposed to — not how I think they are supposed to. We dig into what it was like living in Italy, how he spearheaded the online strategy for Ducati motorcycles, and how he developed his unique perspective towards personal growth.

265: Fri-Date | The Exact Steps We Use To Raise Our Vibration Jun 12, 2020
    Show notes

Today’s Topic: Manifesting the Life You Want

We received a ton of feedback over last weeks’ episode about Abraham Hicks and we wanted to expand on it. Today, we talk about how to manifest the life you want, and how — paradoxically — you can’t get there while hating the life you have. You have to move up the emotional scale to give yourself the best chance of attracting what you want in life.

    In This Conversation We Cover:

    • [04:32] Manifesting our life
    • [06:58] The point where change happens for people
    • [12:05] Finding clarity on what you want using your emotions

Jorge Nava has a story straight out of Joseph Campbell’s hero’s journey. He was on the show “90 Day Fiancé,” where he met a girl from Russia who changed completely when she arrived in the states. He’s a grower of marijuana here in California, where it’s legal, but had trouble getting his crops to grow fast enough to meet the demands of his new fiance’s financial needs. He decided to buy marijuana from another state where it was legal and transport it across the country, passing through one state where it was not legal. As you may have guessed, he got pulled over in that state with over 300 pounds of marijuana. His story is a redemption story: He goes to jail, picks up a Tony Robbins book, and he systematically decides to go through the journey of self-exploration, loses 125 pounds, and finds out who he is at a deep level. We go into that whole story up to where he is today, and it’s absolutely incredible.

    In This Conversation We Cover:

    • [06:01] How “90 Day Fiancé” entered Jorge’s life
    • [09:07] The truth of what happens with reality show contracts
    • [12:00] What was going on in Jorge’s life during the show
    • [17:14] How Jorge got arrested
    • [24:41] What prison life is like
    • [26:28] Deciding the change instead of sitting in depression

263: Fri-Date | Upleveling Your Emotional Vibrations When Things are Hard Jun 05, 2020
    Show notes

Today’s Topic: Raising your emotional vibration

If it feels like you can’t catch a break in 2020, you’re not alone. But one thing we’ve learned from Esther Hicks is that everything is working out for us. When you look back on everything that’s happened over the year, you will see the silver lining in it all. Today we’re going to talk about the emotional guidance scale and how moving up that scale — out of negative emotions and into more positive ones — allows you to be more impactful in the world.

    In This Conversation We Cover:

    • [05:46] Surrendering to what is happening
    • [08:38] Moving up the emotional guidance scale
    • [13:42] Looking for the good feelings in your life

Christian Seale is the embodiment of the Work Hard, Play Hard philosophy. He’s incredibly smart: He got his undergrad from Brown, his MBA from Harvard, and he’s a Fulbright scholar. But how he thinks and how he solves problems is what really sets him apart. When he had some bad healthcare experiences in the US — and more favorable ones in Columbia — he decided to find a way to make the US system more equitable, efficient, and profitable. 35 companies later, he is dominating the medical space and working with people on the cutting edge of medicine. And when it comes to play he’s killing it too. Whether he’s on his boat, traveling to Wimbledon, or speaking at a Tony Robbins event, he is always looking for the edge. You will learn a lot from him.

    In This Conversation We Cover:

    • [04:49] Having a thirst for knowledge
    • [05:47] Going all-in on healthcare

261: Fri-Date | Why Going All In is the Fastest Path to What You Want May 29, 2020
    Show notes

Today’s Topic: Not Giving Up On Your Dream

This week, I got to live out my dream of surfing on the beaches of California. This is something I’ve been talking about for at least 16 years. There were plenty of obstacles in my way — I’m getting older and my body is built more for lifting weights than surfing. But still, I managed to make it happen. This isn’t meant to be me gloating, though. Kim and I wanted to break down what it took to make this happen and show you that you can reach your goals if you put in the work and don’t let obstacles get in your way.

    In This Conversation We Cover:

    • [03:53] Following through on a dream
    • [05:14] Having a deep-seated drive to accomplish your goal
    • [07:21] Overcoming obstacles
    • [11:52] Shifting your mindset from pure strength to real fitness
