While a great amount of cinema classics are delved into in usual Films To Be Buried With style and fashion, you can expect to hear so much more including more about Dr Who - what it was like on set and the importance of lightness and humour within the dynamic, how she gets recognized on the street more for Hollyoaks than anything else she’s been in, being the sixth kid of seven, intrusive thought syndrome and what it means for her daily life (and general thoughts on mortality), and on top of that you’ll also get some dry-land swimming lessons. LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With! Join your host Brett Goldstein as he and his guest go deep into the subject of mortality via cinema, and this week he is joined by the heavyweight of TV and cinema - Merry, Charlie, Simon, whoever you might know him as best - it’s DOMINIC MONAGHAN!
A wonderful get together with Brett and Dominic (Lost! Flashforward! Lord Of The Rings! MORE!), as the two get acquainted over life, death and film, and in this case even some plant based hallucinogens. We catch Dom in his hotel room while on a brief break filming the new Star Wars (not being filmed IN his hotel room, you understand), giving he and Brett ample time to get down into subjects such as making the most of his experience filming Star Wars and being present for it, existential crises, ayahuasca and DMT, his father’s botany expertise (which could trickle into Dom’s own plant leanings), being fiercely agnostic, how he is the link in the chain to a lot of blockbuster movies, his meditation practises and gratitude, and how he’s watched The Empire Strikes Back over 200 times. So it’s fitting that he’s starring in that new Star Wars! Excellent stuff, which branches out nicely from cinema but always gets tied up with a neat bow. Enjoy Dominic Monaghan!

Yes indeed - Nish is back from the dead, fully resurrected and reanimated and ready to talk films of yesteryear with Brett, and what a selection they have to choose from… It was a tough job for sure but I’m confident you shall enjoy their selections and reasons behind the picks. The only rules are that the films are between the 1st of January and 31st of December 2018, and while this unfortunately automatically disqualified The Favourite (released 1st January 2019), the lists are VERY strong. Through their film choices you’ll also catch a glimpse of how these films affected them personally, as there were a handful of films released in 2018 which truly hit home and hacked into our emotional switchboards in all kinds of ways. Prepare to get emotional, excited, hopefully not angry, but definitely inspired to watch or rewatch these modern day classics! So - live from the very messy flat of Mr Nish Kumar (Brett’s serial killer flat was, ummm, otherwise engaged), please enjoy this thorough and skilfully picked list of cinematic greatness from 2018!

She writes for Empire Magazine too so basically Hayley is the perfect guest for Films To Be Buried With! Enjoy the overflowing awesomeness as the two get down to this whole life and death and film business, getting started on her reasons for not actually going into film production itself (fully understandable and surely infinitely relatable reasons!), her graphic novelist father Eddie Campbell and how he would incorporate her in his own novels from birth to present day (and the ensuing weirdness this brings from some fans), how the book she’s writing about death is slowly messing her up, cremation alternatives and how one can turn one’s self into a bag of white powder after death, Stallone porn and hating your own interests!
