The Extra Points gang is ready for NFL schedule release day as Dave proclaims the NFL has taken over as the 365 days a year sport that everyone talks about.

The guys get right to it discussing Game 5 of the Penguins/Rangers series and Jacob Trouba’s questionable hit on Sidney Crosby. Eddie doesn’t think it was a dirty hit and disagrees with Dave. After Eddie gives his rant Dave says Rangers’ goalie Igor Shesterkin will never win a Stanley Cup but the Rangers will survive because of this cheap shot. Eddie is still upset about an overturned goal in Game 1 and that the hit on Crosby was a hockey play and calls the Penguins the whiniest team in the NHL. Eddie admits his girlfriend is not thrilled about this potential haircut as the series continues.

Next, the guys discuss last night’s NBA playoffs as the Bucks come back to beat the Celtics as Jrue Holiday’s impressive defense takes over; although Dave is more impressed with how Jrue spells his name. The NBA playoffs continue to be hard to predict as Memphis blows out the Warriors to keep their series going. As for tonight’s games Martin takes the Miami Heat to beat the Sixers in Game 6 and can’t imagine seeing Chris Paul having another bad game as the Suns look to close out the Mavericks.

The NBA announces they will be now giving out Postseason awards named after Magic Johnson and Larry Bird as well as Bob Cousy and Oscar Robertson. Dave thinks the NBA should take it a step further and name the divisions after legends. Sal thinks HBO’s Winning Time might have had an influence of doing this and they should also name a broken trophy after Jerry West. Then the guys discuss if the NFL did this which legends would you name the awards after?

With Tom Brady going to FOX Sports after he retires for a monster $375 million dollar deal will this change how you watch football. Plus, a trip on the Riverboat Casino to discuss who took the biggest risk this off-season; FOX Sports with Tom Brady, the Cleveland Browns trading for Deshaun Watson or Shailene Woodley breaking up with Aaron Rodgers. This leads to Dave pointing out the NFL really should come down hard and suspend Watson for a significant amount of games. While Sal says the Steelers might have taken the biggest risk by selecting Kenny Pickett with their first-round pick when no other team was going to take him.

Finally, the guys make their picks of the day as Shek likes the Toronto Maple Leafs to finally vanquish the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Rich Strike wins the Kentucky Derby but who won Mother’s Day? Does Jokic deserve MVP, NBA and NHL Playoff Bets and Eddie Spaghetti turns 30! May 09, 2022

Cousin Sal and Dave begin the show by comparing Mother’s Day gifts as Dave once again deems himself excellent at selecting women’s dresses; ultimately Martin picks who won Mother’s Day, Sal or Dave. An 80-1 long shot, Rich Strike comes out of nowhere to win the Kentucky Derby, where does this rank among great sports upsets?

Producer Eddie Spaghetti turns 30 today and celebrated by seeing Pearl Jam twice over the weekend. The guys discuss the Penguins/Rangers series as Eddie is still confident the Rangers will win and blames the Rangers being down 2-1 on bad officiating that’s happening across the league. Plus, the Pittsburgh Pirates dropped two games to the league’s worst Cincinnati Reds over the weekend and Martin believes the Pirates are the best example for relegation in sports.

Nikola Jokic reportedly will win his second straight NBA MVP as Cousin Sal has been saying on the show for a while but Martin believes Giannis Antetokounmpo deserved it more. The guys recap this weekend’s NBA games and poor officiating as even star players and coaches are calling out how inconsistent the refs have been. Plus the guys make their picks for tonight’s games between Boston @ Milwaukee (-1) and Memphis @ Golden State (-10.5) with Ja Morant likely out for the Grizzlies.

The Extra Points crew make their picks of the day and close things out with Sal and Martin trying to name as many Pearl Jam songs as they can in honor of Eddie Spaghetti’s birthday.

Cousin Sal, Dave Dameshek & Martin Weiss are together on a Thursday for a brand new Extra Points! The show starts off with Sal complaining about why the NBA skipped playing games on Thursday, while the NHL goes every other day. Next, Shek and Eddie Spaghetti react to the instant classic Game 1 between the Penguins and the Rangers that ended with a win for Pittsburgh in triple OT. Because Shek & Spaghetti's teams are playing, Sal makes them each pick from the Cap of Consequences to see what their fate is if their respective team loses. The guys then make their picks for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, who should start for the Steelers and why do people continue to overreact to the NFL's schedule release? After that the trio reviews Wednesday night's NBA games with the Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns both winning and Ben Simmons having back surgery. Then, special guest Muggsy Bogues joins to give his NBA Finals pick, which era would he succeed in the most and talks about his legendary high school team. The show rounds out with the guys giving their play of the day.

Cousin Sal and the guys are back from Harry’s wedding as he quickly recaps the trip to Phoenix including the wedding highlight- Harry making his pick from the actual ceremony. The NHL Playoffs begin tonight as Dave’s Penguins take on Eddie’s Rangers, but Dave refuses to accept a bet that the loser will pick from the Cap of Consequences.

The Extra Points crew recaps the NFL Draft as the Steelers now have 4 sets of brothers on their team and Scott the Grizz weighs in on not a single player from the University of Texas being drafted. NFL Draft ratings were down and the guys discuss Twitter spoilers of analysts announcing the picks before on television. Martin would like to see a scoring chart for analysts who break it first and turn this into a competition.

Next, the guys talk about the NBA Playoffs as the Bucks win Game 1 in Boston and the Warriors hold onto a big Game 1 win also despite a strange last second call the officials couldn’t review. After drawing a flagrant 2 technical foul, Martin says Draymond Green is too old for this and needs to control himself as the Warriors need his defense in this series. The guys make their picks for tonight’s games Sixers @ Heat and Mavericks @ Suns. They close things out making their picks of the day as well as Stanley Cup finals predictions as Dave finally accepts to bet Eddie on the Rangers/Penguins series.

It’s NFL Draft Day and after weeks of speculation Sal still doesn’t know who Dave wants the Steelers to take with their first-round pick. Dave finally admits what he believes the Steelers will do. With so much uncertainty surrounding the first overall pick the guys discuss who they think the Jacksonville Jaguars will pick and give their favorite prop bets as Dave likes Derek Stingley Jr. to go #3 and Martin sees good value with Jermaine Johnson at #2.

Next, the Extra Points crew discuss NFL Draft night etiquette from how long you should hug the commissioner to how to react if you drop down the board? Plus, most importantly don’t be like Russell Wilson and sit right next to your future ex-girlfriend, you must sit next to your parents or grandparents.

Then, the Warriors advance to the second round of the NBA Playoffs and Martin gives his reasons as to why Nikola Jokic’s impact on the game isn’t as impressive as Steph Curry’s; plus the regular season MVP should be able to do more in the playoffs. The guys also preview the Boston Celtics/Milwaukee Bucks series and make their picks for Thursday’s nights games as the Sixers, Suns and Mavericks all look to close things out. Sal, Martin and Dave give out their plays of the day as Sal looks for Herb Jones to stay hot at home with over 11.5 points and Martin takes the 214 over in Pelicans/Suns.

Dave asks the guys if you could draft anyone from your franchises’ history who would it be? Plus, Sal gives his take on the Mets/Cardinals brawl and do Pete Alonso and producer Eddie Spaghetti have the exact same voice?

NBA Playoff Monday Bets, NFL Draft Quarterback Predictions, Ben Simmons Still Out Apr 25, 2022

It was a great weekend for sports but not for Dave’s Pittsburgh Pirates who lost 21-0 to the Cubs, but it was another Pittsburgh sports team that Dave is worried about. It’s officially Harry’s wedding week and in honor of it you can enter a Prop Quiz contest on the Extra Points website.

Ben Simmons will not be making his season debut for the Nets in Game 4 but Dave and Martin have a lot to say about the outfits he’s been wearing on the bench. Plus Martin’s Lemon Pepper Parlay co-host Mark Gunnels will have to choose from the Cap of Consequences.

The guys discuss the NBA Playoffs as the Celtics look to close out the Nets and what has happened to Kevin Durant during this series. Plus, the Sixers look to wrap up their series against the Raptors and Utah and Dallas heads to game 5 tied 2-2. Also, another protester hits the court in Minnesota but this time they are leveled by arena security and Martin has a strange connection to her.

It’s Patriots Day in Boston as the city is still celebrating the Celtics huge Game 1 win against the Brooklyn Nets. Martin gives credit to the Celtics defense and Sal likes the fact that Kyrie has embraced his dark side. The guys recap all the NBA action from the weekend as Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves take Game 1 on the road against Memphis and Sal can’t believe there was another protestor- he thinks they should have better ideas as Dave suggests going nude and Martin thinks you need to go into the action.

The NBA Award Finalists are announced and the guys all disagree on who should win Coach of the Year; plus does Ja Morant really deserve to be most improved if he was already an All-Star caliber player to begin with.

Next, the guys discuss the upcoming NFL Draft and Peter King floating the idea that no skill position players could be drafted within the top ten. They also discuss the USFL season opener from the quality production and the not so quality play. Dave wants to see the USFL bring in star players like Colin Kaepernick or Antonio Brown. The guys give out their picks of the day and producer Eddie Spaghetti has to get out of line at Disneyland because of his motion sickness fear.

The guys reaction to Clayton Kershaw being pulled from a Perfect Game but Martin defends the decision. John Sterling blows a home run call again and the Yankees blow it against the Blue Jays as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. blasts three home runs.
