Home Run Derby Draft, Lebron James Drew League and Zach Wilson’s Mom Reality Show Jul 18, 2022

The Extra Points gang is back to recap the weekend, except for Dave who is still in Pittsburgh possibly in mourning from the ketchup bottles officially coming down from Heinz Field. Sal is headed to the Home Run Derby tonight as the guys discuss if he should bring a glove? They go over the pros and cons of bringing a glove as Sal can’t decide. Then Sal, Martin, Babyface Joel and Spaghetti and Meatballs have a Home Run Derby snake draft- will Sal’s beloved Pete Alonso fall to him with the #4 pick?

Next, they discuss the premiere of the Derek Jeter documentary, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez getting married and the odds of more marriages between them, plus Martin pitches a reality show called Mom Knocks to find out who was Zach Wilson’s mom’s friend that he hooked up with. Cousin Sal and Martin are back but Dave is on his way to Pittsburgh possibly with Covid and has the day off. Before getting into sports, Sal and Martin start the show talking about the best and worst parts about being vegan.

Shohei Ohtani coming off a big night both hitting and pitching is now the AL MVP favorite as the guys discuss how Aaron Judge could win and if he needs the Yankees to let him pitch. They give out their MLB plays of the Day as Martin takes the Mets.

Martin answers Kevin Durant’s tweet “did u add to your legacy today?” and he thinks he did. Martin thinks KD is hilarious on Twitter which leads to a conversation: Would you rather KD play next season or just be a member of the media? Plus, if you were an athlete would you be on Twitter?

Next, they discuss Zach Wilson’s Instagram response to his rumored affair and Spaghetti and Meatballs give their NHL free agency winners and losers. Finally, Eddie recaps his incident with the police while back on Staten Island.

NFL Off-Season Moves: Zach Wilson to Mom’s BFF, Baker Mayfield to Carolina, Heinz Field Name Change and Martin stuck in Vegas Jul 11, 2022

The Extra Points gang is back from vacation, but Martin is still stuck in Vegas. Martin runs down some of his NBA Summer League sightings and explains how to act like you belong courtside.

The guys start with the big NFL headlines that Zach Wilson reportedly slept with his mom’s best friend and if this moves the Jets odds this season. Also Baker Mayfield was traded to the Carolina Panthers, Dave likes this situation for him as the guys discuss if he should start right away. Plus, huge news out of Pittsburgh, Heinz Field is being renamed Acrisure Stadium and Dave is very upset. Martin wants it to be called Rooney World and more importantly reveals he doesn’t eat ketchup. Plus, Sal goes over some fan submitted ideas for new rules that Peter King wrote about in his column.

Next, it’s back to the NBA as the guys react to the NBA announcing they will give rings to the Summer League champions and the hype around Chet Holmgren’s debut. Martin introduces his ABC’s Anyone But Chet and compares him to Rudy Gobert; plus Martin talks about the player that has impressed him so far; Scottie Pippen Jr.

The guys make their daily picks and with Max Scherzer going up against Max Fried they discuss who is the best Max in all of sports? Finally, they remember two acting greats James Caan and Tony Sirico.

14-time Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Joey Chestnut joins the show and gives his thoughts on if he can top the current over/under 74.5 hot dog odds on him. Joey discusses his ideal weather conditions, type of hot dog he likes and how getting older has changed his approach. Joey talks about never getting invited to the White House like other champions in sports and what it’s like for him going to restaurants.

Dave then challenges Sal to a chicken wing eating competition and Sal remembers some of his binge eating stories. Plus, as the Yankees continue to win, Dave tries to jinx them from winning the World Series to the dismay of Eddie.

USFL Adapts Shek’s Toilet Bowl Idea, Kyrie Irving’s Next Team, Stadium Sports Anthem Songs and Worst Father’s Day Weekend Jun 20, 2022

Shek’s idea for the two worst teams play against each other for the number one draft pick is used in the USFL as Jeff Fisher’s Michigan Panthers win the rights to the first pick.

The guys discuss who has the worst Father’s Day weekend; Joe Biden, Herschel Walker or Tampa Bay Lighting Andrei Vasilevskiy – but Martin thinks he has them all beat. Plus, tonight is Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals as Shek thinks the Avalanche could sweep the defending champions.
