Welcome to EKA 148! Today we are joined by Efrain, Jesus and Robert of Rio Grande Valley emo band Upon Your Dead Body! Originally started as a solo project by Efrain, the band eventually evolved to be a collaborative effort and we talk about every step along the way. We discuss Tex Mex vs SoCal mexican food, different eras of emo and their evolution along with it, and so much more. Is UYDB kinda lowkey a lil erotic with their songs? Horny emo they might say? We dive into this. Also, Efrain cuts the promo of a lifetime on our friend Shane Hurst from Adjust The Sails. You can catch UYDB on tour this summer!

Welcome to another minisode (a long minisode I might say) of Emo Kids Anonymous! Today Robb and Amanda catch up as Amanda is back after a few weeks away due to the tragic loss of her father. Amanda opens up about that painful experience as well as the aftermath, but it's not all bad news. We also talk about what we've been up to, the current status of the show, what to expect in the coming months and more. Will you see us around? At the Vans Warped Tour? At a different festival? We're about to be Where's Waldo in this mf! Thank you for watching, PLEASE subscribe it would mean so much.

Welcome to EKA 147! Today we are joined by not just one guest, but TWO as we have Gunk Lunk AND Dr. Dew. For the uninitiated, Gunk Lung is an Iowa emo band and Dr. Dew is a social media platform artist who creates a wide range of content but we share a mutual love for mountain dew. First up, Gunk Lunk gives us the rundown on the state of the band, the local DIY scene, their favorite Alkaline Trio records, and what we can expect from them going forward. Then at about the halfway mark we are joined by social media sensation Dr. Dew to discuss his life, career, content and obsession with Mountain Dew. Also, we do a Dew challenge with the doctor. Protein drinks, maple syrup, Dr Pepper, no ingredients are spared in this out of control edition of Emo Kids Anonymous (coincidentally the last solo episode I filmed before Amanda returned and righted the ship). Be sure to check out THE "HAPPY CAMPER" EP by Gunk Lung and be sure to follow Dr. Dew on Youtube for more Mtn Dew content plus a surprisingly wide array of historical analysis.

Welcome to EKA 146! Today we are joined by Dylan England of the Buffalo emo trio Del Paxton! Dylan is one of those guests that I immediately wish lived closer because wow what a guy. We talk Osker (!!!), Mock Orange, The Heavenly Father, Jimmy Eat World, and the other Del Paxton. Of course, we also talk about That Thing You Do and other fake bands. Along with the music talk we also cover Buffalo sports ("fuck you go bills" they say). With the Sabres in the playoffs it's a delicate time in Del Paxton-ville. We also talk about the best buffalo wings in Buffalo and you will legitimately be SHOCKED by the answers LOL. Also, Keegan Bradford of Camp Trash also comes up, as well as the infamous COUSIN ZACH.
Go listen to Del Paxton's new EP "Dogeared" wherever you get your music!

Welcome to EKA 145.5! On todays minisode we are joined by Jackie Valko! If you've been living under a rock (or you're just not on instagram) Jackie started playing drums just under 600 days ago and somewhere along the way she fell into the world of emo and since then has become a beloved figure in our community. We had to talk to Jackie to get to know how this all started, her favorite moments and memories along the way and so much more. Jackie was an absolute ray of sunshine! We yapped about some of our mutual pals like Shane from Adjust The Sails, The Bowling Boyz, Latchkey Kids and so much more. 10 seconds with Jackie and we immediately were charmed, what a sweet woman. Thank you for joining us Jackie!

Welcome to EKA 145! Today we are joined once again by Nishat Ahmed, aka Nish from seminal lakeshore emo band tenmonthsummer! If you've been following our show since the beginning, you remember Nish from one of our earliest episodes! Since then, Nish has been a near and dear friend of the show so when word got out about a new tenmo EP, we had to run it back! In this interview Nish and I dive into the state of the world, the state of diy emo, and the state of our own lives. Their new EP "Your Name Is My Ocean" comes out on May 15th and Nish and I dive into the evolution of the band from fate lines til now. Political unrest, financial instability, the world is an ugly place but the magic of tenmo is finding the beauty in the ugliness around us. Don't worry though, it's not all serious! We also yap about other bands in our scene, play a round of Chili's FMK, we even explore the recent workplace allegations against Tenmo Corp (Charlie consents to the cage).
In all seriousness, this band and these people are very near and dear to our heart. We yearn for tenmo. My only regret from this intervew is that Amanda wasn't there. We love tenmonthsummer!

Welcome to EKA144! Today we are joined by Bugjuice Blues out of Oklahoma! When Coop reached out to me about coming on the show I told her to email me and when I received the email I knew immediately they had to come on the show. These MFs are weird but their music is great. With tons of hooks and absurd song titles, I had to learn more about the Bugjuicers and I was not disappointed. We talk about their origins, their favorite bands, their local scene, and so much more. Shoutout to Garden Ants, it sounds like you need to come on the show.

Welcome to EKA142! Today we are joined by the Boston band Future Teens! Their new album Still Life comes out this Friday May 8th and Amy and Daniel joined us to discuss it in depth. This record is an absolute classic, a tonal masterpiece if i do say so myself. We spend time nerding out over specific songs, the arrangements, and the gut wrenching lyrics. Along with the new record we also talk about their previous tour mates The Wonder Years, as well as the albums co-producer Dan Campbell. We also talk about their label Take This To Heart as well as their upcoming tourmates Snarl. Be sure to go stream their new record Still Life this friday!
