Aisling Bea - Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip #166 Aug 29, 2017

Show notes

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome to episode 166 of the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip! Thank you for tuning in, people - you are most welcome (I refer you back to the three welcomes about 30 words ago) and it is a pleasure to have you here. In return for your attendance, consider yourself fully blessed and uplifted by the presence of this week's wonderful guest - it's Ireland's own comedian, actress and writer Aisling Bea!Such a warm and funny chat with Pip and self-proclaimed "gritty little grafter" Aisling, ranging a whole ton of topics and tangents including her very equestrian-centric upbringing, Ireland fame, the frenetic job-to-job work-pace, celebrity and coming to terms early on with the fact that co-stars are mere people too, drama versus comedy, the audition process and how the notoriously merciless LA scene can be cracked by the outsiders, and the balance of the infamous UK panel show which rounds out in a brilliant back and forth centred on feminism and male emotion, and how the two can be at such odds - from then on it's a grand finale which you'll want to chip in on (feel free to of course!) covering vulnerability, pride, male and female instinct and ahh damn, just so much more... Of course you don't want any of it spoiled pre-listen now do you - so just get stuck into this glorious episode and enjoy the company of your new best friend Aisling Bea!••••• AISLING on TWITTER! - https://twitter.com/WeeMissBea••••• AISLING on INSTAGRAM! - https://instagram.com/weemissbea••••• AISLING on THE INTERNET! - http://www.aislingbea.com•••••••••• SCROOBIUS PIP on TWITTER! - https://twitter.com/Scroobiuspipyo•••••••••• SCROOBIUS PIP on INSTAGRAM! - https://www.instagram.com/scroobiuspipyo•••••••••• SPEECH DEVELOPMENT RECORDS – https://scroobiuspip.backstreetmerch.com•••••••••• FOLLOW AND ENJOY!!!

Ben & Jerry's special w/Rebecca & Melanie - Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip #165 Aug 23, 2017

Show notes

Welcome, welcome, welcome to episode 165 of the rich, creamy and ever so delicious Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip! A long awaited episode at that, as Pip is joined by Rebecca from Ben & Jerry's ice cream and Melanie from the incredible International Rescue Committee! Imagine that... Yes indeed, all those references to those forward thinking ice cream pioneers Ben & Jerry on all those DrunkCasts, the Instagram posts, the tweets... Well it looks like they have opened a big, frosty freezer door for our frozen treat-loving host, as he got to join the gang for a wonderful chat - and most definitely NOT limited to ice-cream either...Fighting through the perils of a corrupted file situation in a previous visit, Pip managed to arrange a meet with Rebecca and Melanie for a second recording deep in the Slough B&J barn. Of course Pip got to taste test some of the goods within, but the chat side of the meetup is where the magic happens - listen to the history of the company itself, setup by two brilliant hippies in Burlington (who are sure to be subjects in a movie at some point), to how it's all made and the ethics of the ingredients (the brownie story is wonderful), to the awesome campaigns that the company stand behind which echo the political leanings of Ben and Jerry themselves. This is not a sponsored episode at all, and it's fascinating to hear how a big company can have a genuinely ethical and very well meaning, evolved and inclusive side to them. You'll hear all about it - this one's a gem, so much ice-cream nerd business and some really inspiring causes and subjects to dig yer spoon into. And here's to a Pip flavour soon, eh?
