    Show notes

The fear of being judged can drive us to live our lives inauthentically.

When we worry about what others think, it can feel safer to show up as who we think people want us to be, rather than who we are.

But it's important to know that other people will never be able to see you the way you truly are. It's impossible. They can only see you through their own biases and judgments.

On this episode of Destined to Be, we discuss why our public perceptions can be complicated and how to change the way we react to judgment.

We share our thoughts on our own online presences, why Jeremy feels he is underrepresenting himself online, and how to stop feeling victimized by others' perceptions of you.

    Key Takeaways

Why it can be problematic to rely on social media pages to get to know someone

The high stakes of being visible on social media and why Jeremy feels he is underrepresenting himself online

Why it's important to reflect on ourselves instead of judging other people

Why it is impossible for others to see you for who you truly are

How teaching something helps you understand that subject better than when you first learned it

How to stop feeling victimized by other people's perceptions of you and change the way you react to judgment

Why people are quick to judge others who are different from them

How we are quick to use our past accomplishments to justify where we are today

Our fear of being judged and how to fight past it to show up the way we truly want to

How to Stop Apologizing for Being Your True Self - EP188 Mar 15, 2022
    Show notes

How many times have you worried about how others perceive you? Maybe you've worried people will judge you for getting your nails or hair done too much. Maybe you've come back from a night out completely paranoid about every little thing you said.

Life is exhausting. Let's not make it harder on ourselves. As life goes on, we evolve. There should be no apologizing for that. And we can't let others dictate how we choose to show up in our own lives. They're OUR lives, not anybody else's.

On this episode of Destined to Be, I discuss my experience second-guessing myself and how I have been able to transform into my most authentic self by prioritizing my own needs.

I share the reasons why it is crucial to honor your own boundaries by doing work to better yourself, rather than spend your time serving others.

Listen in to learn more about how to take control of your life and stop apologizing for living your truth.

    Key Takeaways

Mallory's experience second guessing herself at speaking engagements and how she learned to navigate her truest self

Why you should never apologize for showing up as your authentic self

The negative implications of living up to other peoples' expectations, rather than your own

How to honor your own boundaries by prioritizing your needs

How people often seek validation from others in order to feel good about themselves

Why it's good to leave relationships and friendships in the past after you have outgrown them

Why it is helpful to learn to let go of other people's opinions

How Perfectionism Hold You Back From Achieving Your Goals - EP186 Mar 01, 2022
    Show notes

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. People are not paying as much attention to you as you think they are. I don't say this to mean that you don't have a great impact on people, but we often hold ourselves back because we think people will notice we aren't perfect.

You might not launch your business because your site isn't perfect, or not go to the gym because your outfit doesn't match. Hint: nobody cares.

It's taken me a long time to realize this, so on this episode of Destined to Be, I discuss some of those problematic ways of thinking that hold us back.

Oftentimes, we just need to become aware of our negative energy, how we're acting and responding to things, and then we are able to move out of that headspace quicker.

Listen in as I go through the things that typically hold us back and what you can do to make sure you are empowered to live your best life.

    Key Takeaways

Newest round of Level Up VIP started

What ultimately holds us back from reaching our next level

Mallory's experience with moving on from things too quickly and not celebrating her victories

Becoming aware of our negative energy can shorten the lifespan of that energy

The importance of honoring your feelings by allowing yourself to sit in them

People are not paying as much attention to you as you think they are

Perfection will hold you back almost every time

We don't know other peoples' stories and circumstances, so comparing yourself to others is unfair to you

How to tap into your own energy, negative or positive

How determining what the energy is behind what we're trying to accomplish leads us to make empowered decisions

If something is triggering you, it's probably because it's something you need to work on.
