    151 Visualization Without Sight – A Coaching Paradox – Hamblin Sep 14, 2017
    Show notes

Visually Impaired Coach Discusses The Value Of Visualization

Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others.
    ~ Jonathan Swift

Hannah Hamblin - When she became legally blind at a young age it naturally caused her to lean on her growing Christian faith. She knows she is disabled, but with God’s help and guidance, there are no limitations that stop her from getting where she needs to go in life. Because of Hannah's strong faith, she launched CherishJesus.com to share encouraging messages with others around the world. In addition, she launched her own coaching practice. Paradoxically, Hannah demonstrates how a visually impaired woman never allowed blindness to stop visualizing success and seeing herself as successful.

Here Hannah combines coaching with faith based transformational insights on visualization and self-management.

    Hannah's Mission For Advance Visualization

Hannah works with a wide range of clients and offers a highly personalized approach tailored to each individual. In a supportive atmosphere, she helps clients attain the professional and personal growth they're striving for.

Via telephone sessions with Hannah, you start with an initial assessment to clearly define your short and long term goals, everything from communication skills to personal acceptance. She uses these goals as a foundation to create a strategy for attaining your objectives.

    150 De-Escalate Anger & Conflict With Wisdom & Mindset – Noll Sep 12, 2017
    Show notes

De-Escalate - How to Manage Relationships | Conflict & Anger

Any person capable of angering you becomes your master; he can anger you only when you permit yourself to be disturbed by him.
    ~ Epictetus

Dr. Doug Noll - A successful trial lawyer-turned-mediator for 35 years, Noll gives you the secrets to calm an angry person of any age while remaining centered and calm yourself. His new book, De-Escalate, guides readers on how to keep your composure during a heated argument, and to withstand insults, provocations, and disrespect from others without losing your cool.

If you've ever lost an argument by losing it, it's because you haven't read or listened to Doug Noll. In a world more politically divided than ever, De-Escalate provides a simple, surefire way to communicate with others respectfully and productively, despite how tense a situation may be at first blush.

    How To De-Escalate

In De-Escalate, Noll shares how to defuse conflicts quickly by focusing and targeting the emotions of the angry person rather than the words being said (or screamed). In this way, habitual, counterproductive, defensive and reflexive responses of anger and frustration on your part are circumvented - and cooler heads will likely prevail.

De-escalate Tools - Noll On The Reality Of Prisons

"I developed skills to de-escalate as a professional mediator to help very angry people make better decisions about the problems they faced.

Then I honed the skills in some of California's maximum-security prisons with inmates serving life sentences. With training, these insightful inmates have stopped violent fights, gang riots, arguments, and bullying using skills from De-Escalate. Dozens of inmates have told me that if they had learned these skills 10, 15, 20 years earlier, they would not be in prison today."

Practical De-Escalate Applications: The Prison of Peace Project

Noll, who holds both a JD and an MA, left his successful career as a lawyer to become a peacemaker. He is an award-winning author, teacher, trainer, highly experienced mediator, and co-founder of The Prison of Peace Project. This has been the most profound peace training Douglas has conducted thus far in his career. Inmates who have gone through his program have learned and applied deep, empathic listening skills, leadership skills, and problem-solving skills to reduce violence in their prison communities.

However, you don't have to be in prison to develop leadership skills and political acumen.

Her online training Academy The Holistic Wellness Coaching Academycertifies new health coaches and mentors individuals in this approach to true wellness. Her mission is to help people heal by educating the educators and empowering individuals to self-heal.

    Accreditation for Wellness Coaching

Our Academy was created out of the understanding that there is so much more to optimal wellness than just diet and lifestyle changes.

    • We understand that the MIND has immense control over individual habits and "willpower." This obstacle requires a better understanding of the subconscious and where this fits into coaching.
    • Our other main focus is the GUT. We strongly believe that health starts or ceases within the Gut. With the current Autoimmunity Epidemic, the microbiome can no longer be discredited nor can a healthy diet and fitness truly produce optimum wellness without building a strong Gut.
    • HWCA coaches learn not only these crucial elements of diet and lifestyle, they also receive business guidance education as well as ongoing food and coaching information through our exclusive student portal.
    • Students work directly with the professional educators. They will not be diverted to sales associates. Instead, they receive quality mentorship and have direct contact with their teachers.
    • All of HWCA's courses are accredited by the AADP and full course students will have both Holistic Health and Life Coaching credentials along with the Mind/Gut Specialist course.

    148 Words Catharsis & Self Management – DeLuca Sep 05, 2017
    Show notes

Emotional Mismanagement & Catharsis | Self-Management Evolves Thinking

Remember, it is not enough to be hit or insulted to be harmed, you must believe that you are being harmed. If someone succeeds in provoking you, realize that your mind is complicit in the provocation. Which is why it is essential that we not respond impulsively to impressions; take a moment before reacting, and you will find it easier to maintain control.
    ~ Epictetus

Philip DeLuca is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker - but he prefers to be called the Un-Talk Therapist. He specializes in catharsis and emotional dysregulation as it relates to poor self-management.

When he started providing psychotherapy 40 years ago, he quickly realized that the “Express Yourself” communication approaches were creating more, rather than less conflict.

He's determined to address inappropriate affect and feelings mismanagement and breaks it down with more detail in our conversation here.

    Catharsis Is Not The Goal

As a result, he dedicated himself to finding out why emotional catharsis efforts weren’t working. Along with his multi-decade journey, he turned to the latest body and brain science to upgrade the outdated "Express Yourself,” the feelings model, that was developed in the 60’s. He became his own guinea pig, and eventually, a successful case study. He developed an alternative holistic model that frequently works where conventional couples therapy fails, it brings quick results and is also easy to understand and implement.

We make the point in this interview that Freud threw out the cathartic theory of mental health before 1900.

    143 Immunity & Negativity Connect – Treatment Failure – Miller Aug 17, 2017
    Show notes

Immunity Challenges Arise From Negativity And Past Trauma

Elicia Miller - Immunity & negativity connect in destructive ways. In our culture and most families, we often don't receive the support to process many of our emotions, and so we continue to repress them by distracting and numbing ourselves and through controlling and addictive behaviors. In this Episode, we connect the reality of trauma, negativity, chronic illness and immunity to support a comprehensive healing process.

Unprocessed Emotions Also Create Physical/Medical Problems

Elicia tells us how she came to understand that unprocessed emotions cause chronic emotional and physical symptoms, as well as relationship problems. Elicia helps her clients understand their symptoms and triggers as a gift, a lesson for personal development. Her mission is to value all of their emotions as a necessary part of their authentic selves.

    Healing With Intention

Elicia’s journey of healing her underlying medical issues with systemic Candida gave her the experience to guide hundreds to freedom from digestive problems and chronic fatigue.

With that advanced biomedical understanding, she next found the connections between anxiety, depression, autoimmune disease, eating disorders, codependency, addictions, poor body image, and perfectionism. Both mind and body crash hard against that solid wall of denial and limited thinking. In this CBJ Episode, she also discusses how healing the emotional causes can resolve those multiple states of arrested development.
