Ep104: Is It Ever OK to Be Hard on Yourself? Mar 13, 2018
    Show notes

Emotional eaters take the cake on self-criticism, don’t we? We don’t like how we look, we’re not the right weight, we should have a better job, more friends, a different nose…we are so mean! The only way to have success in changing the way we eat is to be kind and compassionate with ourselves. Because emotional eating is really a “thing”, and not your fault. There is one area, however, unrelated to food and weight, were you might do well to tighten the reigns, however. And when you do, it will have a direct impact on your relationship with food!

Ep103: How to Manage Uncomfortable Feelings with Dr. Joan Rosenberg Mar 08, 2018
    Show notes

Is it an eating disorder, or an emotional management disorder? Emotional eaters overeat to avoid uncomfortable feelings and my guest today, psychologist Dr. Joan Rosenberg, discusses the 8 primary feelings that cause most of our problems. These feelings (and our avoidance of these feelings) drive our actions and reactions to life and managing these feelings is the key to successful living. This was such a fun chat and a great topic for people like us!

The key is to have the right attitude and steer clear of the stress. In this episode I share about the Oscar party I hosted and the lessons I learned.

Ep101: That Still Small Voice Inside of You Feb 27, 2018
    Show notes

In this episode I share about my recent Airbnb experience which taught me some important lessons about that voice inside of me. It’s that “inspiration” that guides us, directs us and protects us…when we let it. You have this voice inside of you, and success in overcoming emotional eating depends on our listening to it, and following through. Here I share an example of when I didn’t listen…and when I did.

Ep098: The Song That Saved My Marriage Feb 08, 2018
    Show notes

One of the easiest ways for a relationship to head south is to take your partner for granted. I’ve been guilty of this more than once in my marriage, and lately, between travel and long hours working, I’ve been slipping into it again. When I told a friend that my spouse was feeling a little neglected and like chopped liver, she challenged me to do write and sing my husband a song. Well, that’s what I did, and the results were even better than I’d expected. In this quick episode I share what I did, how I did it and my challenge (and prize) for you.

Ep096: From Hate to Love with Hostiles Jan 30, 2018

Have you seen the movie Hostiles? (You will want to after hearing this!) This visually stunning movie touched me to the core. The treacherous journey from the plains of New Mexico to Montana in 1892 parallel the equally challenging journey from hate to love for the characters who experienced the most horrific of circumstances. This is a similar emotional journey that emotional eaters must also take in order to break free from the bondage to food and fat. Join me as I explore this transformation.
