    Show notes

2011-04-10-0830 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning April 10th, 2011 in the 8:30 service.

    Scripture: Isaiah 64:4-8

    Topic: Prayer

    Notes:

    - He acts for those who wait for Him- You must stir yourself up to reconnect with God- If we really believed something happens when we pray, wouldn’t we do more of it?- We get discouraged when we don’t see immediate definable results- The greatest sin in the church is prayerlessness... other sins, sickness are prevalent because of and the state of our country is due to prayerlessness- It is our call to pray without ceasing- The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit to go out and affect a group of people- Cornelius-while he was praying, God was speaking to people- Peter’s vision-what God called clean, he was calling dirty- Prayer is not just to get out of trouble or to get by a little easier- We are sometimes focused so much on personal situations that we can’t see God moving outside of that- The Lord’s prayer... don’t get comfortable with God or you lose respect; we are too familiar... we need a revival of fear and respect- There are people around the world suffering for Christ; we haven’t truly suffered- The greatest sin the human race has committed against itself is slavery, human trafficking- Pray for the persecuted and martyred Christians around the world

    110403-1800-Loran Livingston - Broken hearted Apr 04, 2011
    Show notes

2011-04-03-1800 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this evening April 3rd, 2011 in the 6:00 service.

    Scripture: Acts 9:15

    Topic: Evangelism

    Notes:

    - How do you know you are filled with the Holy Spirit?- Paul was an angry religious zealot; during period of blindness his religious spirit was broken and he was made a fit vessel of Jesus Christ.- We don’t love sinners the way servants of God must; we’re upset with those who threaten our own lifestyle rather than the effects sin is having on people.- We have too much religion; we have our own plans- You’re not filled with the spirit just because you speak in tongues- You know you’re filled with the spirit when you see a dying world and your heart breaks and all you want to do is make sure you show them who Jesus is.- Instead of being angry at gays and homosexuals, realize the same devil has control of them that had hold of you. People are victims of sin.- Many people have not been fortunate enough to have grown up as I did...- Without prayer my heart does not bleed for sinners; ask God for that burden.- Religion doesn’t make you love God or people.- The only reason we exist is to be Jesus Christ on this planet. Am I a soul winner?

    Scripture: Acts 9:1-6; 11-12

    Topic: Prayer

    Notes:

    - Who are you Lord and what do you want me to do?- It begins with a revelation of Jesus Christ. You can know scripture and doctrine and be able to teach it yet not have a personal relationship with Jesus- You are not a Christian until Jesus is your life; when doctrine and theology don’t make sense you still know Jesus- Saul was so committed to his faith that he hated those not of his faith. When blinded for three days he prayed. God told Ananias “even now he is praying.”- Christians are praying people. Pray and wait for further instruction.- Studying is not the same as praying.- When I pray infrequently, people crowd my thoughts.- As long as I think a person is my problem/ solution I will not get instruction from the Lord; God will use people but not the people you choose.- We must pray past people; bless your enemies.- Prayer doesn’t change things; prayer changes me so things don’t ill affect me- The church cannot take sides; we are to love all people (Israel, Palestinians, Hispanics...)- 10:30-we must love sinners, homosexuals, people we think a threat to our society

2011-03-27-1800 Jason York, Central's youth pastor, delivers the message this evening March 27th, 2011Scripture Ref: Romans 12:9-13; Psalm 37; 65; Acts 6; 11; 12; Hebrews 10:24-25Topic: The ChurchNotes:

    - The purpose of the church is NOT to get people saved, healed, delivered or reconciled to family/friends, missions, evangelism, to care for the needy, to praise & worship...- Purpose of the church IS the edification of the saints; when this is happening, the other things will also happen- We are all destitute sometime- We put the pressure on our pastor to edify... we are all supposed to edify one another.- If someone has a need, someone else should meet that need- This requires personal contact with other human beings- Snap judgments; Story of judgement based on one side of phone conversation in NY- For people to know our love is sincere, what our devotion and honor is, to share and be shared with, to show hospitality... we must build relationships.- We must challenge one another to do good things- Sometimes love waxes cold but it doesn’t make you any less called to do it.- Jesus loved so He went.

    Topic: Salvation

    Notes:

    - Parable of the lost coin, the lost sheep and the prodigal son- The older son... self-righteous, finding faults in others but not enjoying his father- The prodigal son... appetite for things of this world, spending his life on things that did not matter- There must be punishment for sin, so God sent Jesus to pay for our sins that He would be able to accept us`

    Topic: Prayer

    Notes:

    - We have great music, preaching, etc. All we need to become disciples; what we lack is prayer. Prayer is work; does not come to us naturally.- Jesus equates losing heart with losing the power to pray- Prayer is never in vain; is a priority in the kingdom of God- Prayer brings peace of mind- Prayer is worship; it is not to be demanding of God- Communion with God (prayer) is the mightiest thing you can do- The widow and the unjust judge: he eventually avenged her as God will avenge His own in time. Be persistent.- Jesus asks if when He returns, will people have this faith-will they be praying?- The last day church does not see the need for prayer- When we have a problem, we talk it over more with people than with God
