    110220-1030-Loran Livingston - With a Sense of Expectation Feb 21, 2011
    Show notes

2011-02-20-1030 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning February 20th, 2011 in the 10:30 service.

    Scripture: Luke 12:40-48; Matthew 24:48-51; Revelation 13:13-15

    Topic: Faithfulness

    Notes:

    - Media story: in the future, will be able to distinguish between robots and human?- Description of the Beast in Revelation... uses “like”... could be robotic- Jesus is coming; we will all eventually die. We must be ready- When the attitude becomes that Jesus is delaying, wickedness follows- When people lose expectancy, we get careless about our thought lives and actions- The strength of my life is the Word and the power of my life is prayer- I must wait on my Master; I don’t know when He will appear- There should be a distinguishable difference between the church and the world- The world has crept deceptively into the church; preachers preaching another gospel- Only two days matter: this day and that day. I live this day to be ready for that day.- Young preachers want a big church... they want to be pampered and coddled... deified- If called of God, one will preach the whole counsel of God- People needing “a word”... might as well eat a fortune cookie.

    Show notes

2011-02-13-1800 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this evening February 13th, 2011 in the 6:00 service.

    Scripture: Galatians 5:24; John 8:31; I John 3:7-10

    Topic: Faithfulness

    Notes:

    - There’s nothing more important than to be sure I’m ready- The gospel is offensive; have we been away from true Bible preaching so ling that when we hear it, it sounds too strong?- Start operating with last day desperation. Watch and pray.- People have been taught they can have a relationship with Christ but be out of fellowship with Him most of their lives- A Christian won’t spend years in rebellion (as a sinner would)- If saved, you’ll live right... abide in His word- If we say we have fellowship with Him but walk in darkness then we lie- He who practices righteousness is righteous; who does not is of the devil- Not everyone is going to heaven! Michael Jackson...- You cannot come to the Father except by the Son- There’s deception in churches today. Dead faith; no life, no testimony- We need to get desperate and pray for relatives to be saved

    Show notes

2011-02-13-1030 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning February 13th, 2011 in the 10:30 service.

    Scripture: Luke 21:34-36; Matthew 24:36-44

    Topic: End Times

    Notes:

    - These are the last days; what we know is passing away; be ready- Antichrist will bring false peace to Middle East; 7 years tribulation; antichrist and false prophet will deceive Israel & most of the world... then break their covenant, declaring antichrist as god (abomination of desolation); 2/3 Israelis killed; battle of Armageddon; millennial reign- Rapture of the saints: catching away to escape all this. Tribulation not for Church- Chronology is not the point. We must be ready. Rapture is imminent, has no signs- Don’t get caught up with affairs of this world; live right and wait- Are you afraid to die? Does this make you uneasy?- Nobody knows when He will come for us- Lying, deception, unacceptable business tactics, hypocritical lives... you cannot come to church then curse an officer in the parking lot- Christians, be conscientious about the way we talk and act; there’s a sense of rebellion still in our souls- How long has it been since I’ve ... given to help others... had joy in my heart...

    Show notes

2011-02-06-1800 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this evening February 6th, 2011 in the 6:00 service.

    Scripture: Hebrews 3:12-14; Revelation 2; 3

    Topic: Faithfulness

    Notes:

    - We must be vigilant after God- Story of godly women at funeral service: we need saints to tell of God’s faithfulness- Serving Jesus is a matter of overcoming; there is nothing greater than the grace that God has given us to overcome- Heaven is for overcomers- It makes no sense to try to win the world when our own church needs revival- We have no sense of urgency- I believe in rapture of the church before the tribulation, the time of God’s wrath- They hated Jesus and ought to hate us as well- Am I dragged down too often... or am I so full of the Word I’ve set my eyes on Jesus?

    Topic: Faithfullness

    Notes:

    - Parable of the Sowers: everyone fits one of the scenarios- Protect your heart; it is your connection to God- In Hebrews, Jewish believers were reverting back to Judaism- Being a Christian is tough, warfare- Believe , confess, repent, turn away and live for Jesus; give earnest heed- Sin deceives the young... American Idol... everyone wants to be discovered... a trick from hell to destroy them- Sin deceives the old... feel too experienced to fall. You are never out of danger- Satan caused Eve to doubt what God said; don’t misunderstand God- Christians in adultery, homosexuality... think that what God meant is not the same as what they’re doing; loving money is idolatry; we deny unforgiveness- You can be living in sin and think it’s everybody but you- If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me

    Show notes

2011-01-30-1800 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this evening January 30th, 2011 in the 6:00 service.

    Scripture: Revelation 2:1-5

    Topic: Repentance

    Notes:

    - We’re not going to heaven because we believe in Jesus, but because we follow Him- We’ve left our first love; the relationship is not what it was- It is backsliding when I don’t love Him with my whole heart, mind, soul, body, and strength- Repent and do the first works, the basics of Christianity- Some Christians are never satisfied... because they’re not satisfied with Jesus- Once you’ve had an experience with Jesus, nothing else satisfies- Give me more of Jesus... then you operate in the Spirit- When you have Jesus, you have everything- Must hunger for Jesus... I’ve had to pray my way back- You’re baptized into Christ once, but can be baptized in the Spirit over and over- Baseball, golf boring... my mind is on Jesus

2011-01-30-1030 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning January 30th, 2011 in the 10:30 service.

    Scripture: Luke 8:12-15; I Timothy 4:1-2; II Thessalonians 2:10; I Corinthians 6:9-10; Hebrews 10:26-27

    Topic: Faithfullness

    Notes:

    - We have a lot of religion but little commitment to Jesus- Where do we stand with God? Salvation is bearing fruit every day- Sometimes I get scared when I read the Bible; we should be somewhat fearful- Parable of the sower: seed on rocky ground... those who believe for awhile...- Saved people keep, obey, learn and search the Word- Some depart because they start listening to deceiving spirits- People don’t want to be convicted; conviction is a gift from God- We fail to take the Bible seriously... become too familiar- This is about loving God, truth, righteousness; we must hate everything evil- Love the truth or eventually reject the truth- It is possible to have head knowledge with no heart relationship- We get caught up with the here and now rather than the there and then- David fell when he took his eyes off the Lord- Are you double-minded?- Parents are following their kids to church; maybe there’s no conviction “over there”- Stay before God and allow Him to convict or you’ll start tolerating sin- Adulterers, homosexuals, liars... in the pulpit; God hasn’t changed His mind about sin- If I willfully sin then there is no longer a sacrife
