    Topic: Victory

    Notes:

    - David & Goliath- Every day I must go back down to the valley and face Goliath- I will not be able to win this battle with Saul’s armor (worldly weapons)- If you have not first been in the presence of God, Goliath will look bigger...- What does your giant look like?- When you feel there is no way out... bad marriage, job (out of work), depression, addiction...- Everything Israel did was dependent on Goliath... fear- Learn how to confront Goliath- You do not have to be afraid or lose every day- This is not your battle; it is the Lord’s- The enemy cannot keep you from praising God who brings you victory

    Scripture: Luke 15:6-10

    Topic: Celebration

    Notes:

    - The prodigal son’s real sin was that he was living without a relationship with his father; he valued only what he could get from his father- The same spirit that rose Jesus from the dead abides in you- Lay your burdens down and enjoy the party Jesus is throwing- Prodigal son left home to party... at first this is fun but it will destroy you; his father threw a better party on his return- Weddings... dancing with daughters... what’s wrong with dancing when we celebrate?- Christians are afraid to celebrate, that someone will see or talk about...- Other cultures celebrate; they don’t have the inhibitions we have- Celebration ought to be commonplace every time we get together- As a child asked “how come they have all the fun?” Answer: “they don’t have what we have.” But what do we have?- The world does not want what they see of us... we have to show that we have something they wish they had- You may be away from God drawing nearer, or near to God drawing away

    110529-1800-Loran Livingston- Always Working May 30, 2011
    Show notes

2011-05-29-1800 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this evening May 29th, 2011 in the 6:00 service.

    Scripture:

    Topic: Hope

    Notes:

    - God is infinitely wonderful... always working to bring people into the kingdom- Jewish man saved, cut off from family to later find sister has been completed (saved)- We think God will move stronger if we are more confident- The Spirit prays through us with groanings when we don’t know how to pray- Some think it’s a treat for a Pastor to get a message every week... I sometimes want to give up or do something else... then I give the message and the altars fill up...- God is able to do beyond us (the power of Jesus inside of)- Some of the greatest moves of God come from people who feel like they’ve failed, didn’t communicate....

    Show notes

2011-05-29-1030 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning May 29th 2011 in the 10:30 service.

    Scripture: Matthew 16:13-18; Romans 3:9-18; Psalm 103:10-14

    Topic: Jesus the Son

    Notes:

    - The root cause of our world’s trouble is sin. One solution: Jesus- How we should view unsaved: under domination of Satan, sick, crippled, blind, dead, wicked, angry... they can only act out their condition- For the church to hate sinners is to miss the heart of Jesus- We know we are the body of Christ when we cry about the condition of sinners and long to help them come to the saving knowledge of Jesus- When saved you have been drawn by the spirit and a process begins- Now you have another enemy who is focused on your demise- None have sought after God... He chose you... “follow me”- We’re trying to get people to follow the church... instead we must create an interest in Jesus by the way we live- Go where they are... they aren’t coming where you are- Know what you believe of Him, not what someone else says they believe- We’re trying to get people to come to Jesus, not straighten them out- We’re trying to figure who is in and who is out... it’s not our business- People don’t get fixed perfectly right away- He has not dealt with us according to our sins

    Show notes

Scripture: II Corinthians 4:16-18; Isaiah 54:17

    Topic: Victory

    Notes:

    - Do not invest in the temporary; invest in the eternal- If you want to be victorious think on God things- Don’t lose heart... our light affliction is temporary. He’s helping me carry it- What I’m going through now is producing an eternal weight of glory- Looking at temporary things keeps you stirred up, worried, mad, burdened...- You feed yourself with the news... conservative doesn’t mean Christian- I’m not interested in political party; we are supposed to be Christians- Christians will spread light, tell the truth, love enemies, have compassion for sinners, feed the hungry, build a house for the homeless... reach out beyond yourself- Look at things that are not seen; Elisha’s servant saw they were surrounded by the Syrians... Elisha prayed “God, open their eyes...they are looking at what is seen”- Those who are for you far outnumber those who are against you

    Scripture: Genesis 3:21; I Corinthians 15:21-22; Romans 5:12, 17; Isaiah 54:17

    Topic: The Gospel

    Notes:

    - No one knows the day or hour of His return (referencing failed prediction)- If we are assured of our faith, it doesn’t matter when He’s coming back- His perfect love for you casts out fear, enables you to live a bold, victorious life- Every human (except Jesus) is born a sinner- When Adam & Eve sinned, God killed an animal and made a covering for them- The blood of Christ covers our sin, our shame, our nakedness- Satan brings up what you’ve done; for 930 years Adam saw the effects of his sin- When we get saved and live in a Christian environment we begin to resent sinners for what they do; don’t forget where He brought you from- The church is not here to present an image- The first Adam sinned; the second Adam came to bring you out of what you were born in to; we are first born of the flesh and then of the spirit- The free gift of righteousness God has given to me- No weapon formed against you shall prosper

    Scripture: Philippians 4:6-8; Psalm 139

    Topic: Spiritual Warfare

    Notes:

    - Navy Seal memoirs... trained mentally to withstand and overpower... “every battle is won or lost in your mind”- Cast down imaginations; take your thought life into captivity- We lose our battles when we start off in defeat, looking at what could happen- We make through by acknowledging Jesus in the moment- The power that is in us is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead- Prepare you heart and mind; think on things that are holy, pure...- God is light; you cannot be defeated- Something happens every time we pray
