    Canadian Club of Toronto

The Canadian Club of Toronto is Canada’s preeminent public affairs podium. Since 1897, we have served an ambitious and important mission: to connect Canadians with world-class leaders and newsmakers and be a leading platform for influencers to engage Canadians on what matters most.

Over our 125 year history as a not-for-profit organization, we continue to be a forum for Governors General and Prime Ministers, CEOs and Nobel laureates, scientists, artists and innovators. We have a proud tradition of hosting national and international leaders in politics, business, social innovation and the media, and our members and audiences are drawn from an equally diverse and distinguished group of leaders.

The Canadian Club addresses routinely generate national coverage across multiple platforms. In addition to reported media coverage and our in-person audience of several hundred people, we make our programming accessible to all Canadians through broadcasts on cable television and webcasts, available online.

Events run between September and June in downtown Toronto. As an independent, non-profit organization, we make all our events open to the public. Tickets can be purchased online or through our office at 416-364-5590.

The pandemic showed us just how fragile international supply chains can be with shortages of personal protective equipment, semi-conductors and even bicycles due to massive global demand coupled with lock downs on non-essential businesses and the blockage of the Suez Canal impacting businesses here in Canada and around the world. Even as lockdowns ease here, they continue to affect ports and factories across Asia. As Canadian businesses recover from the disruption of the pandemic, they are rethinking their supply chains, making them more robust and looking hard at sustainability. Join Canadian Club Toronto on October 13 for a panel discussion led by Linda Seymour, President and CEO of HSBC Bank Canada. A veteran commercial banker, Linda leads the Canadian business of a bank that facilitates $760 billion in global trade annually across the globe’s major trade corridors. Linda will be joined by a panel of business leaders to discuss supply chains, their disruption and how companies are navigating the quickly-evolving landscape, what that means for other businesses and the trends it creates. Linda Seymour was appointed Group General Manager, President and Chief Executive Officer for HSBC Bank Canada effective September 2020. She is a member of the Board of HSBC Bank Canada and is Chair of the Board of HSBC Asset Management (Canada) Limited. No one is better placed than HSBC to serve Canadian companies doing business here at home or internationally as well as individuals with an international outlook. For 40 years, Canadian and international customers have counted on HSBC’s ability to bring its global experience and perspective to evolving trends and issues in Canada – helping to build the economy for the future. No other international bank has its local presence in Canada. And as part of HSBC’s extensive network covering Europe, Asia, North and Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa, no other Canadian bank has its global scale.
