Calm AF | Overthinking, Anxiety & Nervous System Regulation

Calm AF is a podcast about overthinking, anxiety, and learning how to calm your nervous system when your brain won’t shut off. It’s for high performers who look like they have it together on the outside but feel stuck replaying conversations, second-guessing decisions, and carrying way more mental weight than they should have to.

Hosted by Kristen Finch, this podcast names what’s actually going on beneath the surface—from anxiety and emotional triggers to the patterns that keep capable people feeling internally unsettled.

You’re capable, trusted, and high-functioning. The goal isn’t to fix you. It’s to understand what’s happening inside your mind and body so the inside can finally match what everyone else already sees on the outside.

Real conversations. Honest insight. Tools that help you stop overthinking and finally feel calm again.

How To Make The Hardest Part of Your Day BETTER Jun 17, 2020
    Show notes

    Book a free consult

We all tend to have "that" time of the day...the part of your day that you dread, that you just hope to survive, the HARDEST part of your day.

For most people, the hardest part is either the morning, the late afternoon/before dinner hour or the very end of the day...after you're done but before bed.

In today's episode I share with you how to take this difficult part of your day and make it BETTER. Because the truth is, while it's your thoughts that will ultimately change how you feel, it's SO important to set ourselves up for success while we work on the mindset piece.

    There are 5 steps:

    1. Decide and Declare that you are taking this part of your day BACK.

    2. Find the predominant thought that makes you feel how you don't want to feel.

    3. Name the feeling that you typically feel during this hardest part of your day (exhaustion, heavy, antsy, resentful)

    4. Decide how you want to feel.

    5. Create a sensory experience that supports how you WANT to feel, setting yourself up for success.

    "I don't know"

They seem like three harmless words, and most of us throw these words around mindlessly and easily.

But these words are actually harmful, keep you in the feeling states of overwhelm and helplessness and perpetuate your suffering

We use I don't know when we're afraid to fail. When we're afraid to be wrong. When we're afraid to be SEEN as wrong.

I don't know is an excuse that leads to shutting down.

If you want an answer to your question, "I don't know" cannot be the answer.

In today's episode I'm sharing three ways to STOP getting stuck in the inaction of overwhelm and helplessness so you can find the answers.

You are WORTHY of liking your self and your life. I can help you create that. Fill out an application to work with me in my 6-month 1:1 coaching program.

I hear it all the time: I *get* the concept of self love...it just feels hard.

    Of COURSE it does.

You were born into and have bought into a society that persistently teaches you that you aren't enough.

You have been taught since childhood that getting the approval of others is what decided whether you were worthy.

And you have been taught that other people's opinions matter more than yours.

Of COURSE it feels hard...it's like learning a brand new language.

The good news is...if you can learn a new language you can learn self love.

    The trick is baby steps:

    1. Acceptance of what IS

    2. Self LIKE and/or appreciation

    3. Self love

It IS possible. You can like yourself and your life.

    In today's episode we're learning

~ why we are so resistant to changing our inner critic

~ why being hard on yourself doesn't prevent you from being lazy

~ the two simple steps to change your inner MEAN boss to a GOOD boss
