303: The Surprising Secret to Avoid Burnout & Grow Your Business: How You Can Prioritize Your Health in Life’s Busiest Seasons with Shaela Daugherty Jan 28, 2025
    Show notes

In today’s episode, we’re talking about prioritizing health and wellness as busy women who are juggling businesses, chasing kids, managing marriages, maintaining friendships, and nurturing faith. With so much on our plates, our health often takes a backseat.

Our guest today is Shaela Daugherty, host of the Simple Fitness Habits podcast. She’s a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach who believes that every woman can build a healthy, fit lifestyle—no matter what season of life they’re in.

In this episode, we discuss why the busiest time in your life is actually the best time to prioritize your health. She shares simple, practical ways to focus on wellness without overwhelming your schedule or mental energy. We cover topics like hitting protein goals, incorporating rhythms for health and fitness as a busy mom, and even reframing the idea of our bodies as temples through scripture.

I absolutely loved this conversation. After recording, I told Shaela how motivated I felt—I immediately got up, ate some protein, and went for a walk! I hope this conversation leaves you feeling just as inspired. And if you’re listening in late January or early February, right after those ambitious New Year’s resolutions may have started to fizzle, consider this your reset. Let’s dive in!

298: Choosing a Business Word of the Year: A Simple Strategy to Improve Your Decision Making in 2025 Dec 17, 2024
    Show notes

Have you ever considered choosing a word—or a few words—to guide your business goals for the year? Not just for your personal life, but for your business. If you’re craving clarity, focus, and a sense of purpose as you head into 2025, this episode is for you.

Let me also just say this: I know that this idea might feel intimidating, especially if you take goal-setting seriously or worry about “getting it right.” But here’s the thing: it doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. Choosing a Word of the Year for your business is about setting an intention and letting it inspire your decisions all year long.

Trust me, this is one of the most impactful strategies I’ve used to stay aligned with my business goals. In this episode, I’ll walk you through:

    • Why choosing a word for your business is different from your personal life—and why it matters.
    • How to pick your word(s) without getting stuck in analysis paralysis.
    • My words for 2023, how they shaped my year, and why I chose four words for 2024.
    • Strategies to keep your word(s) front and center all year long (so you don’t forget by February!).

By the end of this episode, my hope is that you’ll feel empowered to choose your own Word of the Year and use it as a compass for your business in 2025!
